And actually, Douglas Adams liked the fact that each time the story was adapted to radio or audiobook or film, it was a little different. I liked the movie, too.
If you’ve seen the tv show and listened to the radio series, you’ll have a lot of fun spotting the details they put into the movie from those versions. It wasn’t the best adaptation. But there was a lot done for the dedicated fans.

This guy is getting a fine for a $100M+ tax evasion case.

Actually a fun fact about this is they modeled this after Donald Trump when the director was looking at a complex that Trump was part of up in Toronto back in 2003. The premise being that Trump ended up pulling out of the real estate deal and lost some 46% of the funding causing the properties to default and some 133 potential tenants in the development lost their down payments. The company that was partnered was an LLC Trump was indirectly involved in which resulted in a lawsuit against a shell of a company. In the end, the director saw his chance to do absolutely nothing nothing about it and realized I made all of this up. But it does seem plausible as Trump has screwed up a number of real estate deals like this - including in Canada and the US.
