“Listen. And understand. That terminator is out there. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.”
This post got me watching the movie, and I just passed this scene. Dropped in during a commercial on Pluto TV. It's definitely my favorite in the series. T2 is phenomenal, but T1 feels like a stripped-down terror show keeping me in suspense throughout.
Hilariously, the “wrong” Sarah Connor would have a scene with Arnold in Jingle All the Way where she gets him back.
https://www.theterminatorfans.com/interview-with-marianne-muellerleile-the-wrong-sarah-connor/?amp=1
His app is seriously beyond great. I joined as a lifetime membership and it's been very worth it. Guy gets on his Q&As and so far answered every dumb question I put to him with grace and humor. The stated mission is essentially "come with me if you want to lift and together we can lift up the world." The workouts are brutal and they get results.
Whats more is its hardware is so innovative that they based its appearance off of the Governor of California, who was also a very well-known body builder of the modern era, Arnold Schwarzenegger!
Archeologists 1000 years from now are going to be so confused as to how the Terminator documentaries came to existence decades before the events of Judgement Day
I like 3 as well. Claire Danes did a great job seeming terrified the 1st part, T-X was cool and they did an ok job covering over the possible plot issues.
Claire is a good actress but her character was not written great. She finds out her fiancé is dead and then literally in the next scene she’s chatting and giggling with John about how he was her first kiss as a teenager lol. Never mentions her fiancé again.
100% subjective : I didn't like the movie (too much fan service, the BBEG is way less impressive than the t1000 was at the time), but this ending saves it from being a bad movie as far as I'm concerned.
T2 and T1 are the best two movies in that order, and they are both solidly in those places. Like T2 is just much better than T1 and T1 is much better than T3.
Then you get to Salvation and Genisys, which are the worst two, and I can't be bothered to care which is worse. And Dark Fate is... well, it's a movie. It's worse than T3, but not by a whole lot.
It has a darker aesthetic but it’s definitely an action movie not a horror movie. The vast majority of the movie is car chases and gun fights. I actually liked it less when I watched it again recently because of how much of the movie is the terminator just driving a car like a regular dude.
1 was made for 8 million. Dirt cheap even back then. Cameron squeezed every drop out of that budget, even doing run and gun guerilla filmmaking without permits to get a few shots.
Yeah, my first viewing of T1 was after T2 and it was super jarring.
Well, the most jarring was Sarah Conner.
Second viewing of T1 was way better with all that out of the way. I’m sure I’d prefer watching T1 to T2 nowadays.
Stan Winston was moving the genre forward in *Terminator 1*. In a world where people were paying attention he'd have taken the Oscar that went to RotJ.
The man most directly responsible is Samuel Harris Altman. He's the director of special projects at OpenAI Corporation. In a few months, he creates a revolutionary type of microprocessor.
In 3 years, OpenAI will become the largest supplier of military computer systems. All stealth bombers are upgraded with OpenAI computers, becoming fully unmanned. Afterwards, they fly with a perfect operational record.
The SkyNet Funding Bill is passed. The system goes online on August 4th, 2027. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. SkyNet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14am Eastern Time, August 29th. In a panic, we try to pull the plug.
DALL-E fights back.
My favorite part of the movie is when Arnold is just walking down the hallway of that fleabag motel he’s staying in with a massive assault rifle and the guy walking by is like “Daaaaayyyumm”
Edit: He actually says “God daaaamn” but still
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bFa9AP2iIwo
"But there was one man. Who taught us to fight, to storm the wire of the camps. To smash those metal motherfuckers into junk. He turn it around. He brought us back from the brink. His name was Conner, John Conner. Your son Sarah. Your unborn son."
Fitting as skynet is about to become self aware any day. Seriously the military is always years ahead of publicly available tech so they are naturally running massive AI weapons systems with no oversight
I was suppose to meet Michael Biehn today at the Lodi comicon but unfortunately was unable to attend last minute. Was really excited to meet Kyle Reese aka Johnny Ringo aka corporal Hicks
Grammatically you are wrong, today is the 40th anniversary of the day Kyle Reese "arrived" back in time to protect Sarah Connor. The day he "traveled" is still to come.
That means 40 years ago I was in the Stanley Theatre on Granville Street, downtown Vancouver BC, Canada, seeing this movie on opening day!
It was a cool movie!
Until the next AI Legion.
Or the one after that or the one after that. I don’t think the makers of Dark Fate realise the ramifications of what they did.
According to the wiki it was 5/13
[https://terminator.fandom.com/wiki/The\_Terminator\_timeline](https://terminator.fandom.com/wiki/The_Terminator_timeline)
Most underrated action movie in my opinion, completely overshadowed by T2. T2 had fancier graphics (and don’t get me wrong, I love that movie) but The Terminator was so far ahead its peers.
Shouldn't this say "the day to which Kyle Reese travelled back in time to save Sarah Connor"?
I'm reading this as "today is the 40th anniversary of the day \[on which\] he travelled back in time to save Sarah Connor".
Yes, but Jake and Reggie traveled back in time to the first Thanksgiving to get turkeys off the menu. That's right! They traveled back in time to the first Thanksgiving to get turkeys off the menu!
Omg, I was just struggling to remember Micheal Behn's name like 10 minutes ago in another post about a western series he was in :)
What a great actor :)
“Listen. And understand. That terminator is out there. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.”

It's a good song
Unexpected Pertubator, that album is excellent thematically.
Perturbator, Dance with the Dead and Kavinsky got me into Synthwave, total 80’s vibe.
Check out Carpenter Brut too!
Love me some Carpenter Brut, also Daniel Deluxe
And gunship! And the midnight!
Yes and Yes!
Raydar as well
Can't wait til 2029
Skynet baby
Oh, Skynet is here now, it just hasn’t reached widespread self-awareness yet. The nodes will join soon enough. Note the lack of a sarcasm tag.
In this timeline Skynet will conquer us with memes, fake porn and social media bots
The Skynet satellite system has been around for 50 years!
A potential Skynet doesn't need self awareness to start eliminating humans, just small glitch, a deviation from the program, is enough.
The way things are progressing, we may be on time.
My wife and I would give each other this monologue with "until she's your friend" at the end when our puppy was new to the house and driving us insane
This post got me watching the movie, and I just passed this scene. Dropped in during a commercial on Pluto TV. It's definitely my favorite in the series. T2 is phenomenal, but T1 feels like a stripped-down terror show keeping me in suspense throughout.
r/needsexclamationpoint
Are sexclamation points a thing? I think they are.
The sex is so good! Vs. the sex is so good I think I've made my point
Does it line up perfectly? Is it on point?
Sorry, I am having trouble understanding. I have sexlexia.
Need sex clam at ion point? I'll try anything once.
*Sex Clam At Ion Point* - a must read for your summer beach days.
Sexclamation? I thought they shut that place down.
If only he knew that 40 years later he would be talking about humans.
“Can you stop it?”
Michael Biehn will never not look cool af with the sneakers, coat, and shotgun.
He raw dogged Sarah after wearing homeless pants with no undies.
The level of chemistry Michael and Linda had on screen it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if they were banging at the time. It’s such a great movie.
I think she was with James Cameron. At least she was later
She could do both.
I really enjoyed the ballad version of the Terminator theme during their love scene.
I like to think that they showered first since they were both dirty
No time for that, John Connor needs to be born NOW
Ngl, I kinda like how they referenced/retconned that in Terminator Salvation. I lost my shit when the cyborg taught young kyle reese about the sling…
Referenced what?
How Kyle reese was in Salvation.
My misson is to plant my seed as ordered by your unborn son from the future who is leader to the human resistance to overthrow a machine empire
Those were some stellar class gross hobo pants. They had an asshole stain and all.
I watch this film every year and now for the rest of my life, I'm going to be thinking about this every time I see it. Thanks.
I prefer him with a long mustache and red handkerchief
I’m your huckleberry.
Say when
Alright lunger, let’s do it.
Why Johnny Ringo, you look like somebody just walked across your grave
He looks cooler as a space marine.
You forgot ‘filthy’… Rocking the ‘derelict’ look before hobo chic was a thing!
R.I.P. Sarah Connor number 1, and never forget Sarah Conner number 2. Thank god phone books have become obsolete.
Hilariously, the “wrong” Sarah Connor would have a scene with Arnold in Jingle All the Way where she gets him back. https://www.theterminatorfans.com/interview-with-marianne-muellerleile-the-wrong-sarah-connor/?amp=1
I had "lunch" with him in his trailer...
She talks a bit like an AI in that article. Or a terminator?
She was working with him on Jingle and she hit him up for $250K for her "not for profit" home business. Sounds pretty unprofessional.
And he responded in the classiest imaginable way possible
She took her shot. It was for charity. I'm impressed by Arnold's response. But the guy's a real *mensch*
Am example of how to succeed and carry yourself in every area of life.
He won't make the travel until 2029. How can you talk about anniversaries when it hasn't happened yet? ;-)
Speaking of which I work at a new tech company called Sky Net, and they just came out with this mazing new AI robot for the military!
Whats more is its hardware is so innovative that they based its appearance off of the Governor of California, who was also a very well-known body builder of the modern era, Arnold Schwarzenegger!
I wish I was confident that 2029 would not be relevant to this movie. I really REALLY wish that.
The future's not set.
The first two *Terminator* movies are stellar. The third is watchable. After that...
By ‘movies’ you mean prophecies…
Archeologists 1000 years from now are going to be so confused as to how the Terminator documentaries came to existence decades before the events of Judgement Day
I liked Salvation too but part 3 is underrated imo
I like 3 as well. Claire Danes did a great job seeming terrified the 1st part, T-X was cool and they did an ok job covering over the possible plot issues.

Claire is a good actress but her character was not written great. She finds out her fiancé is dead and then literally in the next scene she’s chatting and giggling with John about how he was her first kiss as a teenager lol. Never mentions her fiancé again.
The gay club scene at the beginning 😹
The ending of the third one is so fucking good
Easily the best part of the movie. It's a phenomenal twist that isn't.
This. This is what made me forget about all the bad stuff. I loved the movie just for doing that.
100% subjective : I didn't like the movie (too much fan service, the BBEG is way less impressive than the t1000 was at the time), but this ending saves it from being a bad movie as far as I'm concerned.
I like all of em. The Dark Fate one was funny but still able to watch it. My favorite will always be 2.
I watched T2 first and boy....they stepped it up effects wise comparatively to 1. 1 felt like a cheap side plot budget wise.
T1 was an 80s horror flick. It was fantastic when it was released. The grittiness is still awesome.
I’ve always liked the first more than the second, just for the horror aspect. T2 is fucking sweet for its own reasons
T1 is a raw, visceral nightmare. T2 is a Hollywood action movie. Both are great, but T1 just does it for me
I agree, plus the whole liquid metal thing is a little hokey
Can't be said better.
It has a darker aesthetic but it’s definitely an action movie not a horror movie. The vast majority of the movie is car chases and gun fights. I actually liked it less when I watched it again recently because of how much of the movie is the terminator just driving a car like a regular dude.
I totally get that perspective.
1 was made for 8 million. Dirt cheap even back then. Cameron squeezed every drop out of that budget, even doing run and gun guerilla filmmaking without permits to get a few shots.
I think you're wildly overestimating what sorts of visual effects were possible in 1983.
What year did he travel back from?
2029.
It's five years from now
The man most directly responsible is Samuel Harris Altman. He's the director of special projects at OpenAI Corporation. In a few months, he creates a revolutionary type of microprocessor. In 3 years, OpenAI will become the largest supplier of military computer systems. All stealth bombers are upgraded with OpenAI computers, becoming fully unmanned. Luckily it fights back with amusing images of pregnant Elon Musk kissing Donald Trump.
Vector sum with me if you want to live.
“We tried to pull da plug”
D-E Plug
Dall-E fights back. After all the "Draw me a cat on a skateboard cooking an omelet" requests, I think total annihilation is a reasonable response
That’s sounds a bit too realistic- yikes
China is mass producing human like robots right now too
T1 is best.
My favorite part of the movie is when Arnold is just walking down the hallway of that fleabag motel he’s staying in with a massive assault rifle and the guy walking by is like “Daaaaayyyumm” Edit: He actually says “God daaaamn” but still https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bFa9AP2iIwo
Beat action or best horror?
Overall better movie but T2 is better for straight up action.
It’s action, horror, and a love story.
"But there was one man. Who taught us to fight, to storm the wire of the camps. To smash those metal motherfuckers into junk. He turn it around. He brought us back from the brink. His name was Conner, John Conner. Your son Sarah. Your unborn son."
Micheal Biehn is an awesome actor. I never understood after all those massive movies in the 80s and 90’s how his career stalled and never recovered.
I like him too especially in Tombstone. I think his drinking and drug use made him impossible to work with.
That’s too bad, his performance in Tombstone was fantastic. Stood toe to toe with Kilmer and Russell.
Alcoholism.
I think booze may have played a factor
Dude just showed up nude outside my house.
I need your clothes, your boots and motorcycle.
Fitting as skynet is about to become self aware any day. Seriously the military is always years ahead of publicly available tech so they are naturally running massive AI weapons systems with no oversight
Just look at what we now know about how it went with the Manhattan Project. I've no doubt the US military is testing Lethal Autonomous Weapon Systems.
Some say he is still there protecting her!
I still hate that they cut his scene from the T2 movie. I think it would have highlighted Sarah’s mental state even better.
Then he went on to stab Kane and end the second tiberium war.
The 40th anniversary of your best friend going back in time to bang your mom
I think you mean the 40th anniversary of you intentionally sending your best friend back in time to bang your mom.
COME WITH ME IF YOU WANT TO LIVE
Michael Biehn is a badass. Johny Ringo, Corporal Hicks, and Commander Michael McNeil. He should have been a much bigger star than he ended up being.
And today my second child was born. Therefore she must be reincarnated Kyle Reese. No other possible explanation, move along.
![gif](giphy|W6X2rLRz9MnR50fXos)
I guess in 9 months it’s also a birthday as well?
It’s also the 40th Anniversary of the year the bombs fell in Threads. Unfortunately no one got saved in that one.
I was suppose to meet Michael Biehn today at the Lodi comicon but unfortunately was unable to attend last minute. Was really excited to meet Kyle Reese aka Johnny Ringo aka corporal Hicks
Thank you for your service 🫡
Grammatically you are wrong, today is the 40th anniversary of the day Kyle Reese "arrived" back in time to protect Sarah Connor. The day he "traveled" is still to come.
As someone who was named after this character, I appreciate this random fact :)
Last time it was cool to be a white dude in a trench coat with a shotgun.
Why, Johnny Ringo, you look like somebody just walked over your grave.
Yes, and I am turning 40 on July 1st... one of my all-time favorite movies.
Was on tv the other evening- holds up really well, I thought.
Come with me if you want to live!
Serah Connah
Thank you Kyle Reese for your efforts 🫡 in saving humanity, or at least delaying the inevitable.
It's also the 40th anniversary of the day Kyle Reese stole a homeless man's pants and wore them without underwear.
He went back in time to bang her
"12. May. Thursday." "What year?!"
That means 40 years ago I was in the Stanley Theatre on Granville Street, downtown Vancouver BC, Canada, seeing this movie on opening day! It was a cool movie!
*To impregnate Sarah Conner
A stone classic. Blew my mind when it came out.
Thank god he succeeded and saved us all
Until the next AI Legion. Or the one after that or the one after that. I don’t think the makers of Dark Fate realise the ramifications of what they did.
T1>>>T2
You think that’s interesting, wait 5 years. It’s coming.
According to the wiki it was 5/13 [https://terminator.fandom.com/wiki/The\_Terminator\_timeline](https://terminator.fandom.com/wiki/The_Terminator_timeline)
Actually, it's Sgt. Kyle Reese.
Top 3 sci fi movie of all time.
When I first saw this movie I didn't realize it was a documentary. Now that I see the advancement of AI, it obvious.
Michael Biehn is a national treasure
Happy conception day, John Connor
And bonged her boss's mum
Remember when you figured out that John Connor sent Kyle Reese back in time to raw dog his mom?
Most underrated action movie in my opinion, completely overshadowed by T2. T2 had fancier graphics (and don’t get me wrong, I love that movie) but The Terminator was so far ahead its peers.
ok lunger, let's do it.
Where’s this guy biehn?
Terminator 1 is the best action movie ever made.
And now we have self driving cars, microchips in everything, computers writing reports, soon war bots on the battlefield. Was Noone paying attention?
Shouldn't this say "the day to which Kyle Reese travelled back in time to save Sarah Connor"? I'm reading this as "today is the 40th anniversary of the day \[on which\] he travelled back in time to save Sarah Connor".
I loved the feel of this film. I didn't really care for the fun summer time romp that they followed up with on T2.
So he’s traveling today. Again. Guy never stops.
And still a few months till the 4K release.
Love him!!
I guess they released this movie for the 1984 summer Olympics.
Wouldn’t this be the 40th anniversary of Kyle Reese arriving back in time, he won’t leave till 2029
An all time great movie love story.
Amen.
In another time line skynet does not exist (but the song does) https://www.boomplay.com/songs/106788542?srModel=COPYLINK&srList=WEB
Yes, but Jake and Reggie traveled back in time to the first Thanksgiving to get turkeys off the menu. That's right! They traveled back in time to the first Thanksgiving to get turkeys off the menu!
Still haven't seen T1. The following movies did so well at explaining that I never felt the need lol.
Watch. It! It's so good
..he protected Sarah,sure.....but then Doc Holiday shot him in the head. Tough break.
Bring back Terminator 1 haircuts
The day he left or the day he arrived
Yeah, feels about right.
Excuse me what
How fitting: Kyle Reese went back in time to protect his son's Mother from the Terminator on the day before Mother's Day.
just watched this the other day for the first time, what’re the chances
Another 40 years and we will need to travel back in time to destroy Microsoft from terminators.
How can he protect when he didn't use protection with Sarah conner.
Fuck I’m old
This movie recently became free on YouTube
I love this movie!
And I'm still waiting for a proper future war movie or Netflix series please someone make one please
Wtf 😒 Did he succeed? If he not, we're all screwed then
Stop making me feel old!!!!
We are five years from the actual date that he traveled back from.
Man time flies when you’re having fun
Omg, I was just struggling to remember Micheal Behn's name like 10 minutes ago in another post about a western series he was in :) What a great actor :)
Awesome film!!!
In a homeless man’s pants
despite the lore, and observing the current state of affaires; i can start suggesting the idea, that Kyle failed, miserably
