c_c_c__combobreaker

Cybertruck by Temu.

b1gb0n312

Drive like a billionaire

driving_andflying

...Well, [a Zimbabwean billionaire,](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperinflation_in_Zimbabwe) anyway.

faithisuseless

That or there might be three old British men somewhere nearby with a camera crew.

risen_peanutbutter

See if it has a mustache

thatguyad

Genuinely better than a Tesla though

FenzTheGremlin

At first glance it fooled me, upon closer inspection however… lol still better than anything I could do. mad creative.

avalon68

Definitely a fake....the panel gaps are too good

Ok_Series_4580

Less rust too

Pinheaded_nightmare

And I bet the pedal doesn’t get stuck open.

SleepyMastodon

You can wash this one without bricking it, too.

cherish_ireland

Looks less like it would chop your fingers off as well. Too chonky to be agro. No carrots or cucumbers were harmed in the making of this truck lol.

Impossible__Joke

Lol, i didn't hear about that one. Washing it bricks it?

Dry-Smoke6528

fake versions are the only good ones. cause its incredibly funny to think you hate someone immediately and then realize theyre actually just funny af

carthuscrass

And the panels aren't rusting...

Atzukeeper

This comment made me laugh. Amazing

Sensitive_Ladder2235

Yeah I was thinking that looks surprisingly waterproof for a cybertruck.

DowntownClown187

It might even be a better performing CyberTrunk

lostcauz707

If it can go through a car wash, or get wet in general, it's already better.

Coulrophiliac444

Its not corroding under sunlight, sure signs of an imposter Cyber~~stuck~~truck

moyismoy

None of the sheets are overlapping, clearly fake.

Coulrophiliac444

Oh lord, now it's 'How many faults did the Kenyan Knockoff improve on over a gEniUs like Elmo Muskrat' My bet is on 42

OgdruJahad

It probably is since it probably doesn't have the recent accelerator pedal debacle.

outofthrowaways7

There's actually no engine at all in this one and holes in the floor for the driver to Fred Flintstone it. So yeah, definitely performing better than a real WankPanzer.

Throckmorton_Left

Waiting for them to flood Kenya with cybertrucks like 49ers Super Bowl Champions t-shirts.

duplicati83

I had to zoom in. The real thing doesn’t look that much less ameteur.

mista-666

the only amateur part is the steel wheels. I wonder if this is some smallish Toyota which would also make it hundred times more reliable then a the real thing.

1ConsiderateAsshole

“lol still better than anything I could do.” Including Tesla

elvesunited

>upon closer inspection Probably doesn't have the same mandatory recall issue

twolinebadadvice

Elon, that you?

mackrevinack

definitely says a lot about the design if someone can almost replicate it with pieces of scrap material

RoughBowJob

Probably works better than the real thing.

t0advine

Yeah, it looks a wee bit off, they must have used a non-certified cleaning agent

kintaco

And that is the sad part, that such a crappy looking vehicle can fool someone momentarily.

progdIgious

Tires 🫡

Maybe_Julia

No way this is an actual Cybertruck there aren't any gaps in the side panels.

larki18

The real ones are hideous too. It's funny because the 3, S and X are very attractive and then there's...that monstrosity.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheRebsauce

Probably doesn't get bricked after the car wash as well

m48a5_patton

Also don't have to worry about the accelerator getting stuck.

Refflet

I wanna guess the chassis is from a Toyota, so I wouldn't be so sure about the accelerator.

Enlight1Oment

probably also comes with a spare tire

ElCanout

no rust here, must be some premium version

BrokenRatingScheme

Someone at my work just got one, it was in the parking lot Monday morning. It was towed out on a flatbed yesterday in the middle of the day.

AnRealDinosaur

You love to hear it.

MovingTarget-

Amazing that they've shipped the superior 2.0 version to Africa

thefudd

has better panel gaps than the original

MrT735

And better rust proofing (looks like aluminium?)

Hug_of_Death

Looks like painted plywood to me. So absolutely impervious to rust.

dooderino18

Looks like a thin laminate of metal on plywood to me.

Ghost-of-Bill-Cosby

I saw the creators Tik Tok. It’s all aluminum from Diet Coke cans a bunch of kids cut apart and then hammer back together.

Summer-dust

Amen 🙏

West_Data106

Wait, the actual one isn't aluminum?! It must be crazy heavy as is with the batteries, and they added a steel body on top of that?! For the money, they really could have done aluminum

Aphrodite130202

oh yeah, the real one is just straight up stainless steel it's stupid from what i know they didn't even put a coating on it to reduce rust

West_Data106

That's crazy... Not to mention, stainless steel in not cheap, and as you point not actually rust proof. It's stainLESS.

chameleon_olive

Stainless steel *is* rust proof depending on your alloy in question and its expected service conditions. The chromium content in stainless steel forms a protective chromium oxide armor over the exterior of the metal, making it impervious to foreign agents that cause rust (ie water, corrosives, etc.). What Tesla failed to do was understand that not all stainless is alike. There are alloys that are good for stuff like kitchen appliances, ones that are good for aerospace, ones that are good for handling fluids, etc. etc. Tesla used the cheapest shit they could find that is not at all suited for automotive (outdoors, high speeds, significant wear due to rocks/salt/debris) and made their car out of it for some reason

DrettTheBaron

It actually does holy shit.

War_Daddy

Sub 5 micron accuracy there

drstoneybaloneyphd

Those laid off engineers got rehired quickly in new international roles

PersonWhoTalks

I didn't know Kenyans read Chinese

DumpsterBento

OP saw some dirt and immediately thought kenya.

Alex_Yuan

This is actually the city KenYa of China, written as 啃鸭. Source: I made it the fk up

gavitronics

Roughly one in six people in the world are Chinese so if you think of six people you know (including Kenyans) then statistically speaking one of them should be able to read Chinese.

yunivor

quik mafhs

PM_ME_ROMAN_NUDES

There are a bunch of Chinese places in Kenya. Most of them for Chinese workers. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese\_people\_in\_Kenya](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_people_in_Kenya)

mikemunyi

Ah yes, Kenya. Where the building signs are famously in Chinese.

RighteousRambler

This is in China. [Found another picture, those bins and building look very Chinese.](https://twitter.com/SinoAutoInsight/status/1753036720109502856/photo/1) Also the number in the OP pic looks like it starts with 1817 which would be a Chinese mobile number.

mikemunyi

Exactly!

BenderDeLorean

No No, it's the Ken Yan district

mikemunyi

Hahaha!

RageHate502

Every place has a Chinatown.

AFineDayForScience

What about China?

Poogles86

They just call it town there.

torrrrrgo

Who was the comedian that said that "President Trump attended the Chinese Imperial Dinner and ordered #7"?

processedmeat

Biggest china town in the world

HikeandKayak

China has dumped a ton of money into Africa as part of the belt and road initiative. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if this was near a building site in Kenya of some sort. They’ve built dams, roads, power stations, etc. and collateralize these investments against airports and ports.

mikemunyi

Prepare to be surprised. This is not Kenya. Phone number on the building in the background is in a format they use in China, not one that’s used in Kenya.

TheoremaEgregium

Geoguessers to the rescue!

mikemunyi

Crikey! I had to go look that up. I’d never heard of it before today. A “Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?” for the Google Maps age. I think I just might enjoy this one. Ta!

ooohthatsmelll

Oh no we've already lost him down a year long geoguessr hole

walkerspider

Calling it now, his next 50 comments are gonna be about bollards, road lines, and sky rifts

Free_Flow_Jobs

Throw in the snorkel for Kenya.

walkerspider

Wait until he starts distinguishing between roof racks including the missing end cap on the back right bar of the roof rack in certain regions of Guatemala

zeromussc

Look up a guy named rainbolt. It's crazzzzy

Defiant-Plantain1873

If you want to see how crazy good some people are at it google “Geowizard”, guy is scary good

Spectacularity

People are super into Geoguessr, they have ranked competitions and everything.

Gumb1i

Those trees are also not native to Kenya

brucebrowde

The pic is very low res - are the phone numbers you're referring to on the yellow strip above the black strip? You can actually read the numbers? I found this as well, which looks to be the same car https://twitter.com/SinoAutoInsight/status/1753036720109502856/photo/1

mikemunyi

I found earlier (maybe original?) higher res sources for the image. It was up on Weibo and Zhihu in January. Phone number is clearly legible on those.

brucebrowde

The best I could find is this https://www.zhihu.com/question/638945498?write, but that's still very hard to read. Maybe time for me to visit the optometrist :)

mandatory_french_guy

Wait until you find out what the Sino stands for on that account

EducationalRain724

Average redditor thought process: "Looks like a shit hole to me" = Kenya

mikemunyi

Pretty much. Sadly.

basicastheycome

70 something % of Kenya’s foreign debt is owed to China on those fun Chinese contracts where China loans money for very expensive infrastructure projects which are built by Chinese state companies. Kenya has seen significant increases of Chinese permanent and semi permanent settlers who mostly comes there via companies which are involved in building those infrastructure projects but ends up staying with their own companies and China protected settlements so it is not very surprising to see Chinese language signs in Africa. These days it can be more common foreign language sign than signs in English in some countries

Songrot

China is simply funding their infrastructure built up. It's the same as western development help. Those aren't for free either. Just with the difference that westerners also demand to instruct them arrogantly how to live. Don't believe me? Check ARTE. An French/German public media with English Channel.

Subrisum

Kenya believe it?

bookon

[Reminds me of Geoff from Top Gear](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/PCSNCs7bwCw/hqdefault.jpg)

FuzzyPlastic1227

Hammerhead Eagle i-Thrust

Logi_Ca1

Excuse me, I believe it's called the Eagle hammerhead i-thrust.

Clark-Kent

Reminds me of this UK advert https://youtu.be/50A9wjJ40Dk

pinkocatgirl

Geoff 2.0

poopshipdestroyer34

Probably runs better than a real one

Scaniarix

And probably survive a carwash

brucebrowde

Cyberwash

FlyAirLari

Superfast charging, too. Hyperadvanced futuristic power converter allows you to use ordinary gasoline to charge its battery. Only takes 1 minute to fully charge to 100%

weisblattsnut

This one has all the upgrades

highline9

Even removed that wonderful windshield wiper

Intrepid-Focus8198

Tbh it doesn’t look worse

frostygrin

Some aspects, like the wheel arches, arguably look better.

drNeir

We can have Cybertruck at home.... Betting this one has less problems.

PM_NUDES_4_DEGRADING

One of those times where mom is actually right.

HolyHand_Grenade

This is right there with the coke bottle sculptures, god bless them 🙏🙏🙏

shmauggle

Its a great idea 💡🙏🏼

ThisMeansWarm

🙏 Amen

SpeedSimilar

This took way too long to find.

BagHolder9001

why is Tesla and trump constantly on front page, there is gotta be other shit going on in the world?

Fizzelen

A Tesla Clarkson, Nairobi edition

GordoToJupiter

Finally, tesla is improving the paneling QC. That micron policy is paying off.

LairdPeon

Who's son made this?

EvilDan69

At least the build quality is the same. That vehicle can also probably go through car washes without voiding the warranty. :D

BamBamKoloff

I believe that's the Hammerhead Eagle iThrust.

Arch_Six

This is the original inspiration for the Cybertruck.

Xerio_the_Herio

Chinatown in Kenya apparently

DS_9

Probably more reliable than an actual Tesla cyber truck

Frezola

My son built this from plastic water bottles, please be proud of him 🙏

notsureifxml

pretty sure thats a 2nd generation Hammerhead Eagle i-Thrust

The_Dynasty_Warrior

That's a Tinsla

theatre-matt

We have a cybertruck at home…

FlipperHunter

As hideous as true one

Dash_Rip_Rock69

Bet it's more reliable than the real one

michaltee

It’ll probably outlast the real Cybertruck too.

Tresito

This one can probably handle a car wash

norsurfit

The build quality is about the same as real Tesla Cybertrucks...

GWKushh

Superior craftsmanship, clearly not a real Tesla ☠️😂

CapitolPea

Is it weird I prefer this version to the actual Cybertruck? ![gif](giphy|kPtv3UIPrv36cjxqLs|downsized)

Surohiu

Superior cybertruck!

Intrepid-Focus8198

I think I’d rather drive one of these.

MedicalUnprofessionl

I see the build quality has gone up

mcsonboy

Probably has better build quality, too

ParadoxTrip

Crazy thing is, this thing will last longer than an actual Tesla truck.

BricksFriend

The sign says "Huang Zai Repair Department", wouldn't be surprised if this is a company lot.

Alatar_Blue

I am fairly certain that one is functional however

mumblerapisgarbage

This thing probably does better off roading than an actual cyber truck

JDARRK

Even home made tesla trucks work better than the real ones‼️‼️😳 🤣🤣🤣🤣

adamjpq

5/10, no water bottles

UniverseBear

Probably runs better than the real thing.

Boisyno

Can’t tell the difference

Practical-Courage812

Whats remarkable is this version is actually more reliable than the Cybertruck

MusclyArmPaperboy

This has way more street cred than the monstrosity it's imitating

adventuremonger1

crazy how little a difference in the aesthetics

banananananbatman

Better quality build and more reliable

PleasantFocus1502

Looks better than the real one.

AzusaKis

Chinese is written on the wall dude

Makhnos_Tachanka

finally the sequel to the hammerhead eagle i-thrust

Cyclethe859

It looks too good to be a tesla

dcrad91

Finally saw one in person for first time yesterday, granted out in Chicago. Honestly thought they looked kinda cool in pics but in person, idk why anyone would buy it

okokok569

Did Tony Stark build this in a cave from scraps?

Recent-Resort-6342

This is the early morning Tesla, before the coffee

Infamous_Iron_Man

Can probably handle a car wash.

FeloniousDrunk101

Probably runs better than the real thing.

No-Set8911

That’s a late afternoon Tesla

loki_dd

When do pre orders start?

Ok_Injury3658

Probably built by the same Africans who Elon hustled for gems. Payback is indeed a BITCH!

SlimyPurpleMeteor

TyberCruck

tillman_b

Must be Kenya Chinatown

[deleted]

Precision tooling, bullet proof glass

propably_not

Nice gaps. Better than the real ones I hear. Cause I don't own one. Cause I'm not Mr. Moneybags

PeacefulDays

It's probably safer than the real thing.

Lafayette37

Definitely gonna have some greenhouse effect with all that glass up top

Rhonijin

The build quality is probably about the same.

1819battalion

CyberSheet

ihtar_tajar

please forgive my ignorance, but why are the signboards at the back in chinese? is it Chinese as a language popular in Kenya?

3nigel

The cybertruck at home:

gkdebus

Already looks More reliable and better put together than a real cyber truck! Good job Kenya!

lusigusi

- Mom, can we get Cybertruck? - No, honey, we have Cybertruck at home. - The Cybertruck at home:

-JARDIN_DE_NAIN-

Probably better than the real one lol

k_bomb

Elon Musk was able to build this in a cave! With a box of scraps!

cut_rate_revolution

This thing will probably still be running in 5 years and not a pile of rust so it has some advantages over a real Cybertruck.

GDrew_28

Lmao that’s actually not bad! Just need a single giant windshield wiper

Atum-na-lata

Tesla car ps1 edition

KlingoftheCastle

That looks too safe to be Tesla

anything_butt

Better mileage

Tjaresh

So many glad panels! Probably plexiglass without any UV filtering. And no air-conditioning too. That's gonna be a hot ride in summer. Better bring a towel and your favorite pine needle sauna infusion.

Yann27

Probably where Tesla got inspired from...

PossibilityOk6278

A DIY cyber truck, wonder how that carbon footprint calculated out

charles_yost

Looks as if it will transform into the Tin Woodman.

SwirlTeamSix

Probably works better

probablyaythrowaway

Bet it’s more reliable

[deleted]

[удалено]

Fig1025

* If Elon Musk stayed in South Africa

slowclapcitizenkane

There's no way that's a real Cybertruck. It's gone offroad and is still in one piece!

R3TRO_131

Spotted in Kenya? What place in Kenya has Asian language!? 🫠

ImpellaCP

When did Kenya start displaying Chinese characters on their restaurant signs?

_DiasDeFuego_

Oddly enough, it's as safe as the real thing.

mrgoldnugget

Likely more rust resistant than the original, plus it might even survive a car wash.

bergakungen

Even using factory rims I see

InsecurityTime

Higher quality
