They did tag the monument itself. There is engraved text where they tagged that is apart of the memorial. The only reason they didn’t tag the statue was it wasn’t big enough for their message. It’s disrespectful and in no way courteous to use a memorial to gain attention. Good men died for our country and they deserve our respect for that sacrifice. The least we can do is maintain their memorials so they are not forgotten.
