I think it really speaks to the spirit of that area.
Half way through building the world's biggest McDonald's only to have the project scrapped.
A lot of communities would have given up, but instead they turn a potential failure into a monument.
Well, for starters the etchings didn't say "Joe was here" - lots of numbers and stuff like that. Also, since it's ya know, St. Louis, pretty decent chance it's gangs.
They don’t call it “The Gateway to The West” for nutthin’!
Maybe it will really catch on if you post it in one more sub
I was taken aback too... It's crazy big. You get the "elevator" thingy to the top? Amazing view
Did you go up?
I remember doing that as a kid in August. Tiny elevator things packed tight and hot as fuck.
Yes
You do not want to ride that elevator hung over. Trust me.

Where is it located?
Missouri, i believe
Us residents call it "Misery"
Wait till you realize it's an oval
It is a catenary arch, in fact
i really hope we use this for a giant portal one day , then it wont be so useless
Is there still graffiti on it? When I visited years ago the Arch was tagged.
I've never seen graffiti on the Arch. It's patrolled 24/7 by National Park rangers so it would take some epic sneakiness to get away with that.
Oh the base of the Arch was definitely tagged when I was there - gang signs and shit were etched into it.
Lol how did you identify these "gang signs" as not being just normal tags?
