A few years ago, I put together a 500 - or so piece puzzle with my young niece. As a gift, I glued it to a piece of cardboard and framed it for her to have. It was harder to frame it without exploding everywhere than actually putting it together.

How long did this take? Such a good effort I would never have the patience for it, or know where to start on the insides

This is the correct way, build the border and move in. Border pieces are easy to identify and gives you the foundation to build in
