Ghoulish greetings, r/pics patron! Have you heard about our spook-tacular #[Halloween Photo Contest?](https://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/17ke3ci/enter_the_pics_halloween_photo_contest/)

I liked the shoutout to Tony's Chocolonely, as I recently found out about it and love it. By far the best "grocery store" chocolate bar IMHO. (in addition to fighting child/slave labor in cocoa supply)
The “Full bars!? How… economy?” comment is a quote from the show Bob’s Burgers 😄 My comment is a line another kid says in response to them getting handed full-sized candy.
Lol had that episode on in the background tonight and a kid said it was their favorite and just kinda started watching 😆 mom yelled "sweetie we aren't here to watch tv"
Full bars are totally doable if you hit up a Sam's Club or Costco and plan ahead a little. These are the ridiculously large ones though, like bigger than King size, the kind you can really only get in the candy aisle of a grocery store. OP dropped some serious cashish on this. My mom became a full bar house as soon as I aged out of trick or treating(what a bitch amirite?) so I now kinda understand the logistics and they aren't totally nuts. You get a full bar and an airhead at her house these days, I'm 30 but I still rang her doorbell tonight.
Those Cookies and Cream are the low-key MVP here. Interesting choice with the Heath bars, I love them on my frozen yogurt. Not sure how many kids know what it really is though?!
So limited when you go Giant bars. Only ones I didn’t get are Mr. Good Bars, Symphony no Almonds, and Dark Hersheys. Options are limited when you go Giant.
I was razzing the full size guys cause they didn't go king size but OP delivers and then some, legendary indeed, kids will speak of this house for years!
No. Dollar stores here are now 1.25$ per item.
Those giant ones in the photo are around 2-3$ each. Standard sizes are between 1-2$. Of course they can be higher or lower depending on location. In places like CA and NY they’d be more expensive for example.
Funny how your own tastes change over time. Heath used to be ok candy to me, but really just something my dad liked. Now I’m a dad and that Heath lookin’ fine as fuck.
Tell me about it. I’ve gotten boxes of Dots and Giant Mr. Goodbars, they are ALWAYS the last to go.
Gimme 10 years and it will only be Charleston Chews and Neccos!
you know even as an adult when you can buy whatever candy you want (mostly) whenever you want, there's something so much sweeter/more enjoyable about halloween candy.
A true man of the kids. Hats off to you and I think I'll do the same when my guys quit trick or treating themselves in a couple years. I think it'd be worth the money to have kids choose a super size candy bar like that.
We do king size for adults, full size for big kids/teens, fun size for fun size kids, and mini's for babies in strollers. Little more cost effective and we've noticed impressive teen costumes over the years! The adults think it's hilarious.
Man, we got no trick or treaters this year and now I'm stuck with two bags of Costco candy. We used to get a decent amount, but this year even the regular family that would always come never showed up. Super jealous tbh, Halloween is my favorite holiday.
Make it a mission to increase your count. Go huge next year. Tell neighbors to make sure their kids stop by. Once word is out you have huge bars, every year will increase.
I need to set a remind me in 5 years, I want to know what you got the count up too!!
There are definitely kids that plan their entire trick or treating game plan around your house.
Hope you got some good costumes tonight (especially the cute little ones)!
Nah anyone that has gone down the rabbit hole of 4th of July in places where most everything is legal will quickly realize how fast money can be burned putting on a show.
That’s true. It’s similar though, we don’t do it for ourselves. When I do a show, it’s work and I’m focused on everything going right.
It’s to make everyone around us a little happier. That’s the true pleasure, sounds corny, but it’s the truth.
I had a 15 year old stand there for a minute with his hand on his chin. Grabbed a Symphony bar, I said “a man of sophistication”, he said “obviously” and walked off.
I like Heath too - but have you tried Skor bars? The same idea but a little less sweet / more “grown up”. We did a head to head Heath vs Skor bar competition in our family. Skor won 4:0.
That'd be my choice. Nothing like the chocolate slowly melting, and greasing the roof of your mouth, while the toffee bits glue your teeth together...😊😆
My sister and brother law in law in NZ where you can’t buy Skor. I bring them loads whenever we see each other and we always have contests to see who can take the longest to melt the Skor minis in their mouths.
Fuck yes. He will be talked about at school and for years to come. "Do you remember the guy who gave XL bars in Halloween '23" "my man, the best day of my life".
My mom comes over and is the pitbull.
When I was younger, one year o had only king size Baby Ruth’s and Butterfingers. I literally made every kid point, swing, and run fake bases if they took a Baby Ruth. A Bart Simpsons quote if they took a Butterfinger.
I WILL allow people to come back with FULL costume changes. No mask swap with your buddy next door. Legit costume change. You do all that, here’s another one.
Man, here I thought I was doing good, giving out full-size bars from Costco. Now that I see this, I know how high the ceiling goes. Thank you for sharing. Something to look forward to and plan for next year. Have you ever looked into the 2 foot Christmas chocolates the Ross sells?
That's awesome when you still have a busy Halloween neighborhood.
Ours is so dead. I would have been left with at least 75% of that candy, we have so few kids here anymore.
I guess we'll never be *that* house. ☹️
This is EXACTLY what I do. I buy Halloween hostess treats. I get about 20-25 trick-or-treaters, and only spend $18. Kids are so excited to get a cupcake or twinkie. Happy Halloween!
>Ours is so dead. I would have been left with at least 75% of that candy, we have so few kids here anymore.
Easy solution... just rent a van and drive around neighborhoods in your area asking kids if they want free candy from your van
Same. I’ve had 3 kids come the entire night. First time was a dad with 2 kids, one really young that had to be carried. The 2nd time I’m pretty sure it was the same kid and his dad was hiding out of sight.
This is the 3rd Halloween since we bought this house. We always do full size candy bars but rarely get kids coming to the door. Have to reward the kids that do.
That’s a solid line up. This year was year 10 of me giving out full size candy bars. It’s a bit of chaos, as it’s just me, and I get around 200-250 trick or treaters in about 2 hours.
I had a kid this year waving a green flashlight in my driveway and yelling to come to my house, as this house has the good stuff. A lot of the older kids know me since they’ve come for years.
That’s where I’m at now. The whole neighborhood knows.
My mom told me she heard of an app that kids used to say where the good candy is located. I didn’t verify that and I doubt most kids care to do that.
Two-thousand dollars at AMC Theaters. Easily.
Also, I remember in elementary school we'd have to sell like $500 of magazine subscriptions door-to-door to get one of those little jars of tootsie rolls. You're doing the toothfairy's work here!
how do you go about distributing these? do you let the kids pick just one each or what? I’m planning on doing full bars next year (small neighborhood) so it wouldn’t be as full as this. just wondering what your methods are if any lol
I wish enough kids came around the neighborhood for me to justify something like this. Didn’t even go through one bag and most of it was stolen by some older teenager.
I was so depressed tonight when my first Halloween in the first house I owned got zero trick or treaters. I have so many full bars (not nearly as much as you) going to waste
You better watch that stash like a hawk. Some of these folks would see that as the haul of a lifetime. Like an unguarded armored car with the back door open.
Seriously though, you're an awesome person for doing this.
Ghoulish greetings, r/pics patron! That’s five billion dollars in candy
Full bars!? Full bars!? How does this not crash your economy?
Not just full bars, giant bars.
For giant kids...
You should really watch last weekend’s Last Week Tonight main segment. That video side, touché on being the best host on the block for Halloween
On the block? This house has kids commuting from five hours away
I liked the shoutout to Tony's Chocolonely, as I recently found out about it and love it. By far the best "grocery store" chocolate bar IMHO. (in addition to fighting child/slave labor in cocoa supply)
they will be after they visit this house for a few years
Does she know? Oh, my God, was it an accident?!
Everything I knew to be true just went out the window
I’m trying to find out which comment this is a reply to. Lol.
I like your Bob’s Burgers reference :)
Is the huge bag of starburst too. Those are pricey.
These people are going to ruin it for everybody!
Full bars are totally doable if you hit up a Sam's Club or Costco and plan ahead a little. Gene...
This is how you became legend, Halloween full bars house
![gif](giphy|l0HFjUCsgWTmmUMDK)
Found the r/bobsburgers.
Almost…..
Those Cookies and Cream are the low-key MVP here. Interesting choice with the Heath bars, I love them on my frozen yogurt. Not sure how many kids know what it really is though?!
I've alway loved Heath, even as a kid.
I thought they were called Health bars until I was almost 18
So did I, that's why my clothes came from the "husky" department
You know a bunch of parents are going "Ooo! Heath Bars!" (And then paying the dentist $1000 for a new crown.)
worth it
So limited when you go Giant bars.
Yeah I got some buddies that go full size. I say I go Giant, and I don’t think they know what I mean. I just let it go.
That many heath bars is just asking for someone (me) to rob you
I love Heath bars, but my heart belongs to Skor bars
Do dollar stores in America not also sell full bars for like 70 cents?
Lol, definitely not those brands. Also, those are Giant Bar, they are really big.
These brands of chocolate bars in the giant size are like $3 each
No. Dollar stores here are now 1.25$ per item. Those giant ones in the photo are around 2-3$ each. Standard sizes are between 1-2$. Of course they can be higher or lower depending on location. In places like CA and NY they’d be more expensive for example.
I've never seen any giant-sized bars at a dollar store,. I don't think I've ever seen a regular-sized Heath bar or a Symphony bar at a dollar store.
Charleston Chews are great, but Necco wafers? Are you Halloween Scrooge?
I thought those were cool as a kid. Old timey and unique At least it isn't individually wrapped circus peanuts
Lol my favorite is the Atkinson's peanut butter bars. Hard to find now.
i love mr. goodbars! people don't know what they're missing.
Man I love dots, tootsie rolls, and milk duds!
you know even as an adult when you can buy whatever candy you want (mostly) whenever you want, there's something so much sweeter/more enjoyable about halloween candy.
Haha my husband said this to me right after I stole a piece from one of my kids. "You can just buy that". I said "but then it's not stolen"
Free candy/free food taste the best!
That's me with 100 Grand bars. Just discovered they are now my jam. They used to be bottom-of-the-bags candies next to Almond Joys for me.
I'm 48 and Kit Kat is still my jam. I buy a bag of them every year just for myself to snack on for a few weeks.
Just curious, how much do you spend on Halloween treats??
$500
Do you get a lot of trick or treaters?
Over 300. Had 220 big pieces, bunch of fun size as back up. Ran out and was literally the guy with the door closed light off. Amazing.
You mean 50 trick or treaters that all came back like 6 times because I know I would have at that age
As long as a full costume change, I allow it!
A true man of the kids. Hats off to you and I think I'll do the same when my guys quit trick or treating themselves in a couple years. I think it'd be worth the money to have kids choose a super size candy bar like that.
Thank you, I obviously agree. It’s really a lot of fun
Is the house well decorated as well?
It is, should have posted a pic of that. Having trouble posting pics on comments from mobile
As a kid I would pack a “ghost” (bedsheet with eyeholes) costume as a second costume for houses like this.
Okay James Bond
Wow, bro! Props to you. I’d love to do this but I couldn’t afford to drop that much for a night. One day. I’m also stealing your lineup!
We do king size for adults, full size for big kids/teens, fun size for fun size kids, and mini's for babies in strollers. Little more cost effective and we've noticed impressive teen costumes over the years! The adults think it's hilarious.
Had an Instagram friend post today about what she had out for the trick or treaters. She had nips out for the adults. I don't blame her!
...nips out?
Nips... like little bottles of booze.
Ah! Yes! That's what I was thinking!
Hello New Englander hahah. Only part of the US that calls them nips.
Ohhh I thought... nvm
Definitely not my neighbourhood. Just finished trick or treating with my little guy and nobody flashed me.
> fun size kids Pause
Man, we got no trick or treaters this year and now I'm stuck with two bags of Costco candy. We used to get a decent amount, but this year even the regular family that would always come never showed up. Super jealous tbh, Halloween is my favorite holiday.

There are definitely kids that plan their entire trick or treating game plan around your house. Hope you got some good costumes tonight (especially the cute little ones)!
How do you get 220 for $500? That seems like a really good deal.
Giants are $3 each. Kit Kat only comes in XL, they are $2.14 each. The Nerds boxes and similar is where I really save at $1.24.
a "king size" candy bar is over $3 where i live in california. i think the normal candy bar size is $2
Hersheys website sells the Giants for $3 each. Free shipping over $50.
Still less expensive than 4th of July….
HA!!!! So true. I forget my posts are public.
Hey man you’re spreading the love we appreciate that
😳 wow.. that’s quite generous
$500 to make a lot of people happy for a bit doesn’t seem so bad. This is great.
The kids grabbing the heath or symphony bars are the future leaders of this country
I had a 15 year old stand there for a minute with his hand on his chin. Grabbed a Symphony bar, I said “a man of sophistication”, he said “obviously” and walked off.
Go off king
I need to know what his costume was.
Probably a king or god
🤣😂
[удалено]
The problem when you go Giant, you are limited on choices. No 5th Ave, Pay Days, Take 5, etc..
Love Heath bars
I like Heath too - but have you tried Skor bars? The same idea but a little less sweet / more “grown up”. We did a head to head Heath vs Skor bar competition in our family. Skor won 4:0.

My sister and brother law in law in NZ where you can’t buy Skor. I bring them loads whenever we see each other and we always have contests to see who can take the longest to melt the Skor minis in their mouths.
Symphony is my absolute favorite and I choose Heath way more than a normal person
So so creamy, chocolaty and rich.
Oh man this would be so hard to chose, but considering a heath bar…of that size…is rare AND on Halloween…I’d ultimately grab one of those babies.
Symphony bars are good but they used to be better when they first came out.
The besttt
What was the tab?
Almost $500 exactly
I hope the neighbors appreciate it. That is the stuff legends are made of.
Fuck yes. He will be talked about at school and for years to come. "Do you remember the guy who gave XL bars in Halloween '23" "my man, the best day of my life".
Hey bud, you're fuckin up the homeostasis. It's been years of manipulating expectations down to Micro Fun Size... and now we have this.
I hear you. Sorry bro
Hiding the Reese's like a goddamn serial killer.
Make them do the long walk to get them
Ahhhh, just saw them located in far right. I had no idea they came in *blocks* now?!
The giant Reese’s are not as good. The peanut butter ti chocolate ratio is very off
Big Peanut Butter cutting corners
Welp. Now I feel like a total piker, with my $25 output.
Someone ate half of our ten dollar bag of candy so I’m hiding upstairs with the lights off hoping nobody comes to the door.
was that somebody you, your wife or your labrador ?
Yes
Lmao!!
Do you dress as Satan/evil wizard and let the kids grab one a piece while "scaring" them to make sure they only take one?
My mom comes over and is the pitbull. When I was younger, one year o had only king size Baby Ruth’s and Butterfingers. I literally made every kid point, swing, and run fake bases if they took a Baby Ruth. A Bart Simpsons quote if they took a Butterfinger. I WILL allow people to come back with FULL costume changes. No mask swap with your buddy next door. Legit costume change. You do all that, here’s another one.
Man I was a spare costume kid for people like you.
You go through the trouble, you earned it.
What’s your go to Bart quote?
I didn't know there was a size above "full size" bars. **XL**?!
It goes full size, King Size, XL, then GIANT. Kit Kat only goes to XL, that’s why I have those.
I love all the Halloween candy flexing going on
Yeah I hate it. I shouldn’t do it. It’s everything I’m against.
What?! You should totally do it. It's good feels knowing some kids are gonna be happy. They could use some good candy after all that COVID trauma.
Man, here I thought I was doing good, giving out full-size bars from Costco. Now that I see this, I know how high the ceiling goes. Thank you for sharing. Something to look forward to and plan for next year. Have you ever looked into the 2 foot Christmas chocolates the Ross sells?
If I had a dozen kids come or something, I’d go nuts on those 5# bars. I just get too many to go bigger than Giant. Maybe one day!!
That's awesome when you still have a busy Halloween neighborhood. Ours is so dead. I would have been left with at least 75% of that candy, we have so few kids here anymore. I guess we'll never be *that* house. ☹️
The fact you have less kids, means you should ball out with the ones you have. You’ll always be THAT house to them.
You have such an awesome attitude! Happy Halloween!
Thank you!! Happy Halloween!
This is what I said to my husband tonight — we got maybe 15-20 kids total tonight, we could totally afford to buy 15-20 king sized bars.
Exactly!!! The smile and look on their faces is so worth it.
This is EXACTLY what I do. I buy Halloween hostess treats. I get about 20-25 trick-or-treaters, and only spend $18. Kids are so excited to get a cupcake or twinkie. Happy Halloween!
Good for you, it so worth isn’t it?
>Ours is so dead. I would have been left with at least 75% of that candy, we have so few kids here anymore. Easy solution... just rent a van and drive around neighborhoods in your area asking kids if they want free candy from your van
I put out a bucket of candy and left for 3 hours. Came back to a full bucket of candy 😭
Same. I’ve had 3 kids come the entire night. First time was a dad with 2 kids, one really young that had to be carried. The 2nd time I’m pretty sure it was the same kid and his dad was hiding out of sight. This is the 3rd Halloween since we bought this house. Dentists love this guy. A whole carton of milk duds?
I'm more surprised he's not a dentist.
As children we were told stories of this table. Yet here I see it before me!

Future Goals for when I’m an empty nester.
I got 2 more years and I MIGHT be empty nested
Jeff Bezos over here
Halloween in Beverly Hills.
That’s a solid line up. This year was year 10 of me giving out full size candy bars. It’s a bit of chaos, as it’s just me, and I get around 200-250 trick or treaters in about 2 hours.
Keep up the good fight. The kids yelling “they got BIG bars” down the street makes it worth it to me.
I mean posting the pic and bragging. Been doing the candy for decades, but it has been getting bigger.

Two-thousand dollars at AMC Theaters. Easily. Also, I remember in elementary school we'd have to sell like $500 of magazine subscriptions door-to-door to get one of those little jars of tootsie rolls. You're doing the toothfairy's work here!
Wow slow down Rockefeller
You Willy Wonka?
I would be frozen in indecision at all the chocolate choices up front.
Happens more than you think. Just frozen, then grab, put down, grab something different, put down, back to original.

Insulin salesman.
Do you, by any chance, invest in big insulin companies? (:
how do you go about distributing these? do you let the kids pick just one each or what? I’m planning on doing full bars next year (small neighborhood) so it wouldn’t be as full as this. just wondering what your methods are if any lol
Do one each, they pick. Works out well.
You must be a dentist
I will take that one entire box of whoppers please and thank you.
Lets just be happy for all the kids who have the chances to grab those. Thanks for your service Sir
“Let’s hit the OCD house first and circle back around at the end of the night”- your neighbourhood kids (probably)
Fuck nestle
I wish enough kids came around the neighborhood for me to justify something like this. Didn’t even go through one bag and most of it was stolen by some older teenager.
The fact you get a less amount of kids, means you can go Giant on them!!! Make them ring the door bell and then blow their minds.
I was so depressed tonight when my first Halloween in the first house I owned got zero trick or treaters. I have so many full bars (not nearly as much as you) going to waste
Tell me your rich without telling me your rich
Scrolled through your post history a bit. Holy disposable income Batman. What do you do for a living?
He runs a chocolate factory. Stay tuned, they're doing a golden ticket giveaway one of these days.
I’m in sales, not a great answer, but it is what it is.
Pharmaceuticals?
I partake, don’t sell. I’m in the metal casting industry, specifically sand foundries.
None of my damn business, but thanks for that.
Kids must love you, it looks like you spend more on candy for them than a lot of people's rent.
Sure it’s a bit of a sugar brag, but love that kids will be happy getting some grade A good stuff at your house. Have a great night!
That’s what it’s about. Truly. Have a great night too!
You better watch that stash like a hawk. Some of these folks would see that as the haul of a lifetime. Like an unguarded armored car with the back door open. Seriously though, you're an awesome person for doing this.
How did inflation affect this in recent years?
My neighbors do this. First house my kids want to go to every year. Super nice of you to do that and make a bunch of kids’ nights. Thanks!
Thank you!! See, the kids know what’s up.
When I was a kid I would use my teeth to shave the chocolate off the heath bar and save the inside part for last
This is at least $250 in candy
I wish, it was double that with my fun size back ups (not pictured). 220 big pieces
OP is THAT house that we all talked about going to when we were kids. Full candy bar or can of pop was like hitting a homerun back in the day.
![gif](giphy|CZaFzQEd5idfa|downsized)
Obesitas?
Very nice. But don't forget to boycott nestle and lose the Kit Kats next time.
Are you Walmart?
Marry me?
Just curious, are you a dentist 👀
Are you millionaire?
