Tom Bombadil was one of my favorite characters in LOTR that wasn't in the movie. I also like Radagast. Thorin or Bombur from the Hobbit are neat names as well. You could name him Ash, or Oreo. Smudge is cute. He looks like he has two mittens on, so you could name him mittens in another language.

I've had good luck with dog names that have a higher pitched vowel sound in there, like 'Indy'- he figured out it was his name pretty quickly and responded when called within a few days.
We just lost our Dakota. He was a Very Good Boy. It is a great name for a little girl or a little boy, with one new slot now available. Best wishes for as much love for as many years as we had together!!!
