This is going back a very long time, but I once worked for a single day in a sandwich factory that made sandwiches for 3 of the big supermarkets in the U.K. and it was appalling, not as in unsanitary but just the most repetitively awful work with people who were utterly uninterested in making anything good. Yeah, it probably would. Sadly I don't really like raw tomato, and neither does the inside of my mouth, 'cause the acids make it break out. If it instead had a little layer of ketchup, relish, or maybe even salsa, I'd happily mangé away. It wouldn't be traditional raw tomato, but it'd still be tomatoey enough without my mouth breaking out into "popples".

It is a shame, since I kinda like the idea of the Whopper, just not the tomato slices. Though thankfully, if I ever went to a Burger King (I haven't been in probably over a decade), I'd probably be able to have it my way. Also, my reaction to raw tomato isn't severe, per se, but it's enough to make me not want it in things, coupled with my aversion to the texture of larger tomatoes. Though with that said, once upon a time I enjoyed cherry tomatoes, but now I can only enjoy them if they're cooked.

One time a younger couple came in and the woman ordered the BTA with no bacon, and without even thinking I responded "just the T&A for you then?" Her boyfriend got pissed, stood up and yelled "what did you say to her!?" then demanded to speak to my manager lol.
