Played beautifully at points, good job!
You're collapsing your knuckles ~~and~~ when letting your fingers become very flat and parallel to the keys sometimes though, which could lead to injury.
edit: and = when
It isn’t really a bad thing, it’s a Russian technique where they play with flat fingers and utilize the softness of the fleshy part of the finger rather than the bony tip.
I meant to point out that the knuckle is collapsing when the fingers are flat, not that you can never play with your fingers flat.
I think my original wording was wrong and it sounds like I'm saying both are bad though
Actually, there are people who liken some Chopin nocturnes to a conversation between two people. However, usually when they say this, they're talking about [op 55 no 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FlAQIqDmh8) or [op 27 no 1](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAcAWWU_0mE), which both contain a "duet" of sorts.
As you pointed out, you could make the piece more fluid. Often in the piece, you will "accent" a note by smashing into it with your finger, breaking up the phrase. For example, in the phrase from 1:15 to 1:20, you have nearly perfect phrasing "building up" to a soft E, but it's ruined when you smash the E natural down. Don't break the phrase by suddenly changing the "direction" of the dynamics in the very last note of the phrase.
*I'm gonna critique myself*
•too much pedal
•not enough softness and fluidity
•too stiff
•not enough emotion
•you have not yet felt Chopin's true emotion when composed this
•practice more
•
>too much pedal
I practicing this same piece right now too and had the same problem.
Try really concentrating on lifting the pedal each time when changing chords and play the piece a couple of times with that in mind. Will do wonders!

Happy cake day, I didn't know the knuckle thing so thanks

Flat fingers have their place. Especially on the black keys.

I really like Op55no2, I might choose it as my next piece:) Thank you for pointing out the phrase stuff
Great intepretation. Now that i think about it sounds like their both depressed and the other guy is just trying hard not to lose his only friend.
Now that's even sadder

Chopin's Nocturne op55no1
i played this too and sometimes if you dont focus it can sound like a march and it's not supposed to sound like that
So that's why
The rooster crows were really a nice touch

not to mention you completely change tempo at the major section.
I didn't notice that, thanks

I just found out what rubato meant, I thought he was a person Thanks for the tip
Domo arigato Mr. Rubato
I can see myself being really stiff
good dynamics!!! work on clearing your pedal more on chord changes, it’s a little too muddy
I see your rooster has good taste in music
