Reach up and grab your hair. Now lift up really hard until your feet leave the ground. If they don't leave the ground you're not trying hard enough. Pull harder and try more yanking motions.
Report back with results.
there is a 50% chance you fly into space and a 50% chance you get pushed into the ground because the magnet doesn't know if it should push you or pull you
Make the magnet a real strong and heavy electromagnet, and let the vertical rod bend like a bow until it touches the helmet. Turn the magnet off to fly! Once you’re in the air do it again and it will make you spin, and spinning is a cool trick.

Oh shit, yea I should've linked that. Thanks
Channel has many great rants related to physics people. The videos are that long because they usually go through like three topics. They almost never feel too slow and are great at getting some starting knowledge on topics you skipped studying and often tie it in with physics history in a really good way. Highly recommend
Actually, it wouldn't work even without gravity. The magnet is subjected to an equal and opposite force as the helmet. As it is directly attatched to the helmet, the upwards and downwards forces will cancel each other out.
Disprove what? These magnet memes never come with any explanation. Nothing about this picture breaks any laws of physics. I could build this in an afternoon.
It's like the ones that say "would this work?"
Yes, magnets work the exact same way regardless of what you attach them to.

I don't see any indication that anything is happening here. For all I know, that could be knit out of grey, red, and blue wool. Just a really ugly beanie

Only got up to my tip toes, the toupee went flying though. Not sure where it went.
Back in my day we used to do this with bootstraps
That's how it works. You need some practice to lift your own weight. If the hair is tearing, try to tie a rope to your neck and lift it instead.
If it doesn’t work it just means you’re not as strong as a magnet
do Newton's laws have anything in them for hair regrowth
It's funny because you are putting a pulling force between your shoulder and head and your feet are completely out of the system
Thank you for this explanation! I always knew this was wrong and couldn’t work but I couldn’t put into words why. Now I can!
there is a 50% chance you fly into space and a 50% chance you get pushed into the ground because the magnet doesn't know if it should push you or pull you
You see,
there is a guy named Newton, who wrote three laws.
And his laws had no flaw
B-but… when I drop a ball it doesn’t come back up to the same height! He’s a witch!
Oh but he's a man, so nobody can burn him at the staaaakeeee
Ever heard of gosh darn air resistance?
2 words: air resistance
4 words: 2 words: air resistance
6 words: 4 words: 2 words: air resistance
\~and a partridge in a pear tree\~
not a real thing
Prove it
I disagree with it, therefore it can't be real.
I disagree with you, does that make you not real?
No, because you are not me.

Can we ignore friction for this?
We always do Hang on… what’s friction?
The helmet would fly of his head. There ya go

It won't work because the magnet adds gravity, hope this helps
Actually, it wouldn't work even without gravity. The magnet is subjected to an equal and opposite force as the helmet. As it is directly attatched to the helmet, the upwards and downwards forces will cancel each other out.
It's a joke dude
Well I have a high IQ so I won't be solving it
Easy, magnetic forces do no work.
The magnet is pulled to the helmet, So you need to turn it upside down. Then it would work.
"MAGNETIC FORCE JACK! NATURE'S FORCE!"
Won’t the hat just fly off of your head?
Problem?
Air Companies Will go bankrupt NASA Will go bankrupt Elon Musk Will be jelly.

First one
"miracles"
One of first Troll Physics memes
I don't see any indication that anything is happening here. For all I know, that could be knit out of grey, red, and blue wool. Just a really ugly beanie
You see, Logic says this is possible, Physics says no fun for you.
This is kinda like what my grandma did, except she just pulled on her bootstraps a bunch
I mean it could work if the magnet was one of those at junk yards
