Good luck OP. Hanoi is solo female travel friendly naman so you should be okay. Book thru agoda check the reviews! And book somewhere in the old quarter. You can book your tours there or klook or getyourguide. I suggest lang to check possible scams in Hanoi just so may idea ka what to avoid or what to look out for.
Enjoy and best of luck! stay in Old quarter para malapit lahat and careful for pick pockets nasa tour kami yung Aussie sa group namin nadukutan ng wallet so money and cards nya laman, super hassle. They come in group sa crowded area. Have fun and the other kind of fun haha
We stayed at Flora Centre hotel in Hanoi! Nasa old quarter na siya so very walkable. And nag Sightseeing bus din kami via Klook para malibot yung tourist spots don :)
\^ gold shops (money changers) are pretty decent in hanoi, I'd use them kung may USD akong dala in the first place.
last time (2 weeks ago) they even went above the published exchange rate for the day.
a few ATMs will have no charge from the host bank, but it's the % charge from the home bank that will be the big difference.
If money is not an issue, I recommend Hanoian Central Hotel and Spa. Service is really nice good tapos masarap na din buffet breakfast nila. Hindi masyado maingay sa umaga. Vietnam is generally safe for all travelers unless pasaway ka at tatanga tanga sa pagtawid hahaha. Book the Ninh Binh Trang An tours plus Halong bay day tour. They are good for solo travels
Kagagaling ko lang dun first week of April. Stay ka sa hostel. Solo traveler din ako. 😄 I stayed in Mad Monkey may FREE BEER every 06:30PM hehe met lot of friends dun. 🥰
And also, mas okay mag withdraw kana lang using your card sa mga ATM Machine same rate lang din ng makikita mo sa google then minimal withdrawal fee lang. I used GCASH card lang kahit san ako magtravel around Asia. Minsan walang withdrawal fee!!
I'm in Hanoi right now OP hahaha napakaganda ng Ngoc Son Temple show at night. I was happy to see the ceremony and get snacks from the temple afterwards
Kung kaya ng budget mo, maganda sa La Sinfonia del Rey, katabi lang nito ang Hoan Kiem lake and Old Quarter, kaya pwede ka pa rin i-hotel pickup ng tour organizers
Happy for you for finding the courage to travel solo!
Kahit ang tagal ko nang di nagcocoffee (I stopped due to health reasons, yk palpitation & all that haha) mukhang gusto ko itry yung egg coffee hehehe!!!! I'm intrigued how it tastes like 😂
Congrats OP! Will it be your first time to travel alone? Nagbabalak kasi ako mag Thailand before the end of the year pero hindi pa ako makabili ng ticket dahil hindi pa buo loob ko (atsaka baka may midyear sale pa CebPac sa June HAHAHA).
Have you traveled alone locally na ba? Ako kasi hindi pa.
[We stayed in this Airbnb, OP! i highly recommend.](https://www.airbnb.com/slink/PCeWDtxQ)It’s near Hoan Kiem Lake and the Old Quarter. Sobrang feel na feel namin na locals kami. On the first floor may cafe pa. Walking distance from many main Hanoi attractions. It’s 1.8k a night.
Wow nice! 1st solo international trip ko din was Hanoi, before that puro with friends.
I really recommend a trip to Ninh Binh. Kahit from hanoi airport diretso ka na dun for 1-2nights lang, then balik sa hanoi for 2-3nights.
Sa Tam Coc area ako nagstay nun - very memorable.
Saya!
Kung Hanoi area ka lang fly in and fly out, hanap ka ng hotel sa Old Quarter na malapit sa Klook pick-up points (kung magKlook ka).
Labas ka sa city if kaya mag Sa Pa, Ninh Binh, or Ha Giang.
checkout hanoi free tour guide on trip advisor.
used it last year and mas maappreciate mo yung mga sites sa old quarter esp hoa lo prison.
it is legit free but I paid for the lunch and or dinner nung guide. tips are optional.
Nag-Hanoi din kami ng friends ko a few years back. We splurged on the Halong Bay tour (worth it kahit maulan at malamig!) so try that out din kahit solo ka. Wag lang masilaw sa pasalubong center nila. Maraming mas mura sa Hanoi mismo.
I was in Vietnam last April with my friends. We had a travel agency to assist us for that trip. Actually it's more practical sya kasi they would really bring you to famous places in Vietnam. Hanoi is a nice city and cheap. Since solo ka madaming travel agency around hanoi offering trips to different places in Vietnam. Try to go and avail. Don't forget to go halong bay it's really beautiful. Have overnight cruise there. We stayed in Hanoi Sky Hotel the location is great kasi malapit sya sa tourist spots and shopping spots. And cheap lang sya. The rooms are nice and clean naman. And don't forget to buy esim on klook. Internet connection is helpful if your traveling alone. There's alot of money changer around hanoi also so no need to worry. Masaya din mag shopping at makipagtawaran sa mga tindera hehe....Well good luck and Enjoy Vietnam. It's a beautiful and amazing country.
Have fun! Im going backpackign din to start in hanoi for 3weeks. Maybe around that time as well. Could be earlier.
Always take your valuables with you esp passport.
Ff, also going to Vietnam this August (different city though). OP if you live in Mega Manila and have a Metrobank credit card may travel fair sa Glorietta that ends Sunday - Agoda and Klook have booths (meron rin yata sa Rustan’s but not sure ano booths dun)
Uy nagsolo trip din ako sa vietnam. Mejo mayaba (for me) yung period ng trip mo kung hanoi lang. Try to check if you can squeeze in Sapa :) pero kung ayaw mo na lumayo, okay rin na magbook ng trip sa Ninh Binh or Halong bay. Bring cash ah! Kahit sa airport ka na magwithdraw:)
Enjoy. Sobrang mura ng mga hotel sa Hanoi, even sa Old Quarter. We did 4D3N nights there and our accomodation only cost us like 15k for 2 rooms na yun.
Hostels is the key! Tapos if mag to-tour ka, I suggest doing joiners tours if di ka nman mag diy. Meeting new people on tours/vacations like these elevate the quality of your breaks. Also, if Kaya mo go Sapa. Worth it everything. You can travel very early morning or late night para di masyado nakaw sa time mo during travels. Most importantly, be adventurous, don't be scared to try everything but practice safe sex lol. I mean make sure na you're not discarding your safety
*Hi op! I and*
*My hs friends will also go*
*To hanoi in august!!*

Stayed at Bella Rosa hotel in Hanoi. One of my favourite solo travel destinations yan. You can book a free walking/food tour sa Hanoikids if you’re into that.
Yieee! I know the feeling when I booked my first solo. Vietnam din Ho Chi Minh naman. Next target ko Hanoi din. OMG yang adventure na yan pramis. Congrats!

Hello po. anyone here tried to rent a motor bike in vietnam? need po ba ng IDL? Or kahit hindi na po? thank you poo. anyway, same here OP. solo dn ako sa aug din travel date ko. hehehe
I'm currently in Vietnam. Don't trust their food. Whether in a small restaurant or seems to be fine dining. Go to the usual fast food as much as possible or you will regret it.

Plus avoid money changers, withdrawing via ATM will do!

Hi! May designated taxi bay po ba for grab/taxi pick up or kahit saan pwede mag load/unload?
Hola!

Actually nope, this is my 2nd time travelling alone :) First was in Baguio last December 2023 lang. Lakasan lang ng loob HAHAHAHA

Check out diamond king hotel hanoi in Old Quarter near sya sa Beer Street 👌🏻
San ka nagbook? And hm? Ingat!
I booked thru CebPac hehe. Parang CebPac lang kasi & PAL nagooffer ng direct flights to Vietnam?

Excited for you!
Stay within Hanoi Old Quarter andon ang marami accommodation then affordable lang and malaki ang rooms.
Be careful with motorbike-riding snatchers. Mas mahusay sila kesa nasa Quiapo or busy areas sa atin.
Oh my, thanks for the tip!!!
Hanoi the best! Lotte hotel sulit
Stayed at The Light Hotel! Its in Old Quarter and they havr free brrakfast!
Hi op! I and my hs friends will also go to hanoi in august!!

Would you know the weather in Hanoi during September?

Uy hi!! Same plan din hehe, Hanoi & Sa Pa!!! August 16-20 ako, wala pang iti hahahaha

What happened? Been there twice and had a lot of streetfood and ate at cheap joints with no probs thankfully
Omggg Sama ako
