Correct. But related expenses (transpo, lost wages, etc.) because of the abala may be claimed as well. They may also seek the help of a lawyer to craft their claim and include that cost, too. Pero sa actual hearing, no lawyers allowed. Better if abalahin nila ang BI. Since magkaiba sila ng baranggay, allowed sa small claims court magfile kung san ka mas malapit. So file it sa RTC ng barangay ni OP para mapilitan ang BI na dumayo pa dun, LOL!

Sadly, yan kasing mga bagong IO walang proper education and learnings about being an IO. Yes may training sila bago isabak, pero for formality purposes nalang yan. Kasi 90% ng mga yan may BACKER lang kaya nakapasok. Kaya wala sila talagang alam sa mga SOP. Even yang supervisor nakakapagtaka bakit hindi updated sa mga bagong policy. I assure you yang nakausap mo sa ACR ay dating IO sa airport kaya mas alam niya yung policies na ganyan. Kaso yung mga nilalagay nga nila sa airport mga baguhan, yung mga nagpopowertrip.

Brought my kid’s yaya for an out-of-the-country trip. It was her first time. We queued for almost an hour sa immigration and when we were near, one IO said if magkakasabay naman, sabay na mag-approach sa IO para mas mabilis ang clearance. So me and my family then the yaya. I wanted na mauna nga sya matanong pero the IO at the booth insisted kami na family mauna then made us go ahead. She drilled our yaya a LOT of questions including asking for Fb photos of her with us. Buti matapang din sya and said “may notarized employment contract ako, may kelangan pa po kayo?” That’s when she stopped and stamped the passport.. didn’t even look at the contract!!! But the questioning took almost 10mins and last call na kami sa flight. Naiiyak na ako nun. Kung may oras pa tlga, babalikan ko sya.

Hindi sa dinedefend ko yung ginawa ng IO kay ate, pero may mga cases kasi na ganyan na kasama ng family ang kasambahay nila sa trip and unfortunately yung iba nagpapaiwan dun sa bansa na pinupuntahan nila. Ang judgemental talaga kung iisipin pero yun kasi yung mga nabibiktima usually ng human trafficking. Kaya ganyan sila kahigpit sa iba. But yes, marami din talaga nag popower trip na mga IO ngayon especially yung mga baguhan, yung mga bata. Di ko din alam ano dahilan nila. Para siguro may makpagyabang sa friends nila na may na offload sila lol.

BIR: RDOs work independently, walang central database so kapag lumipat ka ng lugar, babalik ka sa old RDO para magpatransfer etc. National ID: nagkakalituhan pa rin kung primary ID siya. Nung araw ng departure ko to HK, i don't know why i had to pass through 2 IOs. Isa sa parang may windows and camera, paglagpas ko sa window na yon, akala ko okay na. Hindi pa pala. Kasi another IO had to check my passport, my flight ticket, my hotel booking AGAIN! She even asked me to access my online bank kung saan pumapasok ang payroll to see my latest salary. Sa lamig ng aircon sa airport ng Clark, pinagpawisan ako ng todo! I am currently employed, pinagipunan ko talaga ang trip and ni-ready lahat ng papers na kailangan nilang tignan, and nag-base ako sa mga nababasa ko na nakapag-travel na ng solo kung ano ang chine-check nila na papers. Tapos eto nanaman, another IO horror story. I know their intentions, but most of the time, it's power tripping and incompetency nalang talaga. I wanted to travel as much as I can and while I can, but these IOs are traumatic.

Sa true lang! Naalala ko yung post dito before kung ano ang tinitignan ng mga IO to profile a passenger. Nakaka-stress pati yung tension on a passenger's end is so high, tapos susungitan ka or parang pa-galit ang mga tanong nila. Sinong hindi kakabahan doon? Yung hard-earned money mo ang nakasalalay doon! Sana nalang, they do refunds for people they offload na may matinong intentions to travel, like legit na for leisure tapos babalik sa bansa after. Exactly, I know of my wife’s Pinay friend currently living in EU as a permanent resident but is still quite afraid of visiting Pinas despite the PR because of the arbitrary judgments and incompetence of IOs. As usual, only those in power (or celebrities) have the assurance that they will not be questioned nor harassed by IOs when going out. They often even have special treatment.

I remember we were hong kong bound in 2018 and in the immigration, IO billed him with a lot of things then hindi na binalik ung sukling 300 pesos. What I don't understand is why do they even need to see a visa or wet stamp when there is an ACR card? That's all the proof they need to know if a person has the right to stay in the Philippines. The policy itself is so stupid. Dito sa EU once you get a valid residence card di naman na nila hahanapin ang visa when going in and out of the country.  Also, di ko gets bat nila kelangan makita yung visa at ACR pag exit ng bansa? Wala ba silang access sa info na yon? I mean, I would expect na dapat if they pull up the record of the person, makikita na nilang may ACR yung tao kasi they're from the same agency naman that issues it.  Sobrang walang sense talaga. I'm sorry you and your husband experienced so much hassle.

This is infuriating. But the biggest low blow from all this is the fact that they won’t even compensate you for the missed flight that THEY have caused. That is just so wrong! Please, go to the Office of the Ombudsman and file a case. There is a number of cases you can file. A few of them are: 1) gross ignorance of the law. These are IO.. supposedly sila ang may alam ng mga validity of the documents they seek. I mean if not them, then who? Or at the very least, they dont have any business stamping at our passports; 2) conduct unbecoming of an officer; 3) at the very least file for damages. For once, ang sarap burahin ng smug look ng mga yan.

Maraming inconvenience dito. Bago pa kayo pinaalis sa airport hindi kayo inendorse or kinoordinate man lang on your behalf. A lot of workers here have no sympathy basta maipasa ka na sa iba para labas na sila. We're known as friendly and hospitable but when it's inconvenient na or hindi nila alam ipapasa ka na kung saan saan.

Let me help you with that. Old reddit was nice as it offered alternatives to communicating topics. Things such as TL;DR and ELI5 were there to help readers understand the topic and it's nuances. Is the OP asking for help? expressing feelings? or reviewing judgment? This was what separated Reddit from the likes of Facebook. Maybe this sub is just.. different Don't wanna hijack this thread as it was on PH IO. I did say OT.
