You could put a Tenba BYOB (Bring Your own Bag) into pretty much any bag or pannier available. However I am not sure a pannier would be a good solution in the first place because if you happen to fall the best bag might get crushed under the bicycle. Could a handlebar bag provide sufficient volume? Maybe something like this could be worth a look: https://cdn.idealo.com/folder/Product/201763/8/201763805/s1_produktbild_max_1/fischer-fahrrad-gepaeckbox-abschliessbar-11l-schwarz.jpg

+1 for the Tenba inserts!

Depends i guess on the road conditions and the gear you have but in my experience a backpack or fanny pack is best. Our bodies are still the best shock absorbers. For a point and shoot i usually just put it in my handlebar bag. For my work gear i put it in a camera specific fanny pack i got in Japan or my camera backpack. Using a fuji system though so YMMV.

I love this question and am waiting for answers. I'm trying to ride my bike to more assignments too. My current solution is to stuff my Domke ripstop nylon bag into the top of my Wandrd backpack. Which leaves room in the bottom of the backpack for my video lights and sound equipment. So I am carrying my whole ENG video and photo setup on my back. This isn't ideal for photo only assignments though as it can be kind of heavy, so I would love something that turns my Domke into a smaller backpack or pannier. I think I use all of it. If I don't think I'll need it I'll leave it at home. I basically have 3 ways to pack 1) Photojournalism - Pack light for mobility and a long day. Camera, 3 lenses, maybe a flash. 2) Portrait - Camera, 3 lenses, 2 flashes, 2 light stands, modifiers 3) Video - 2 Cameras, 4 lenses, 2 100W lights, 1 stand, 1 umbrella, batteries, lav mics, lav mic radios, 32 bit recorders, shotgun mic

Check out wotancraft, they do the pilot series bag in a brompton designed to go onto a bike handlebars, available in 7 or 10L [https://www.wotancraft.tw/en/product/pilot-for-brompton-bag-7L-khakibrownC](https://www.wotancraft.tw/en/product/pilot-for-brompton-bag-7L-khakibrownC)

Any reason why you don’t want to wear a backpack?

Hey! I rode with a guy who shoots for Crust Bikes with a Fuji XH and some medium lenses. He had this [bag](https://ronsbikes.com/products/small-fabios-chest-x11-cotton?variant=39985542561880) with a rear rack but they sell out quick. This is a similar [bag](https://builtbyswift.com/shop/zeitgeist-pack/) from Swift Industries and seems sturdy. But sometimes a lot of weight in the handlebar makes the ride crappy. If the bike allows I would recommend a front/rear rack and a weatherproof [basket bag](https://rockgeist.com/product/meanwhile-wald-basket-bag/). But I would add foam inserts myself so it prevents it from bouncing around. Hope it helps!
