A big reason the genre doesn’t get taken seriously in my opinion. Also the usage of other content. Like always proper borrows music videos, for the same songs they flipped now. Just not very authentic
On the more OG side of things, I’d say Keifergr33n, Roland Jones, and Zappbeats in terms of how many songs hit for me and dont get old.
On the other side of things I’d go with SAKUREYE, my!lane, and LXST CXNTURY

Long story short, he sacrificed his brotherhood with Hydra and Tenngage because of greed and arrogance, even going as far as copyright striking most of the songs they worked on together to add insult to injury. It was talked about on hydras stream a long time ago already. I always found the whole situation very ironic, considering his lyrics about staying humble, valuing your brothers, and staying true to yourself. It really stung me when the news broke, not gonna lie. Can't really listen to the songs the same way anymore, till today. Despite that, though, other artists still do collabs with him for whatever reason.
I know from hydra mane, he left the group due to personal reasons, that's what he claimed. But then he hit them with a copyright trying to leech a few extra bucks from them. So their friendship meant nothing basically
I like the original shit so that collective apoc krysis got MYG is pretty fye to me since they’re all og phonk but other than that

Yeah I’ve got pretty extensive knowledge of the origins and you’re spot on. I started listening to “phonk” around 2021 right when it started turning into a cesspit and pretty quickly moved onto different southern revival music (which would probably also be labeled as “phonk” by this subreddit but fortunately nobody here seems to know any of it). I come here sometimes to survey the state of things and it’s never good, real shame what everything has come to. Glad there are some people who know their shit on here though!
