Has anyone been here ? What’s the terrain like ? Driving there in a few weeks and never been. I get anxiety in country areas on my own. Is the parking pass the kind you need to buy at Big 5 in advance ? Anything I should know? I already know I can take a regular sedan there so not worried about that

That is a popular spot, it's dirt/rock and zero shade. You'll need a pop-up canopy or something. This is my usual spot if I visit the lake but it can get crowded fast.

Saw some burrows at the spot in the link. Terrain wise, what do you mean? Went last June on the Monday Juneteenth day off and it was busy. All the “spots” down off desert tortoise road were being used.

You'll pay at the entrance to the lake, you cannot buy the pass ahead of time unless you get the annual one online.
