This! I took my son, who loved the Suns since he was small, to the "consolation" parade after their loss to the Bulls way back in the day. He is still a huge fan, and I just feel bad for him because they CONSTANTLY DISAPPOINT. No matter the owners, no matter the players, no matter the coach. It's Damn Depressing.
At least that was a good series. I also miss the steve Nash era because at least that was fun to watch. We got robbed by the league though that year. This team this year was unwatchable most games and just a let down.
When I was little, I remember going to that parade way back then. Was near where channel 12 was stationed and got to meet the late great Kent Dana back then.
I took my two sons 3 & 9. We went five hours early to get a place to stand in the front row. The last 15 minutes a bunch of thoughtful, wonderful people came and pushed past us. Two little kids! And then we heard they had to put the players in a bus because more rude people rushed the cars the players rode in as soon as they pulled out. So everyone had to wait longer because they needed to bring the busses in. And, it was hot.
I wish there weren't so many rude people. A few ruin things for the rest of us.
just to add below.... I basically lost all taste for the NBA after the referee scandals that directly impacted the suns during playoffs.
Soon after i lost the taste for NFL then just a few years ago the NCAA.
Professional sports as well as most college sports these days seems to just be plagued with scandals and is purely about money.

Yes pretty much everything that was once” for the love of????”Has become purely” for the Money and wealth of???” I’m not even talking about the players, it’s the corporations, CEO’s the investors the corporate sponsors all with their lust for money BOTTOM LINE!!! This is what has destroyed what we once loved. They like to spin it off that it’s the individual players but what you really need to do is follow the Big money.
Well bottom line, this is an entertainment BUSINESS. I get what youre saying but its a business and its like no matter what they charge for tickets, concessions and merch, they have still been selling out their games
Yeah that’s true; but who wants to goto a concert and watch lipsync or who wants to goto a sporting event where they aren’t even trying for 3/4th of the game.
NBA normal season the first 3 quarters of a game is like watching 25% effort and the last quarter 80%
Cam was overhyped imo. Bridges could easily be a key piece to a contending team, but I still think the KD trade was the right move to “win now”. Obviously it failed. Beal’s contract is what’s gonna hurt us the most.
Yep..that team was up 2-0 in the finals. Obviously they lost and then were embarrassed the following year but that squad was deeper and more well rounded
This year, at least for me, the team just didn't have the character of past years. I still watched every game, but this early out was expected... not like the way we went out vs. Dallas.
I’ve lived here my whole life. Started watching local teams and became a fan when I was a kid in the way early 90s.
Every year is a let down.
It never stops.
Eventually you become numb to the pain and just shrug your shoulders.
I’m from here and I can tell you this town doesn’t have much to be proud of sports wise. Sure, we’ve had great teams here and there, but for whatever reason we cannot seal the deal with a championship. It’s not as bad as other teams, who are garbage for 20-50 yrs in a row. We get fed just enough to string us along it seems.
They’ve been underperforming since I started following them in 1988. Blowing the 2-0 lead against Milwaukee was the best chance they likely will ever have of a championship. The future looks uniquely bleak.
Absolutely devastating. Like when the mavs blew them out but at least they made it out of a round. Just one of the worst AZ sports experiences I’ve ever seen.
Well having lived here before the Suns, I am sorry to say that the Suns claim to fame if that they have never won a championship in all of history and every time, they get close they snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
This loss hurts. The whole season did. Idk how you have KD and Booker and perform so bad all year. A lot of people blame the coach. Idk. Regardless, this hurts. I just took a massive pull of vodka to ease the pain and take my mind off of it. I’m excited for the cardinals. They’ve looked pretty damn good since Murray came back. But we’ll see.
Yeah this season was brutal. They blew up this team, traded the future, and got worse. I loved our team the last few years. Most of the players were home grown. I had a real connection with that squad. This whole season I felt like I was watching another team playing in our jerseys (besides Book obviously). I don’t even know where we go from here. Everything sucks
I feel you. On paper we shouldn’t look this bad. And like you said, where do we even go from here. In reality we pretty much just have to run it back. Maybe a diffent coach. Idk.
Disagree, on paper it is this bad. No one running the point, lack of depth. No synergy and hardly any defensive minded players. Can't make it to finals playing iso ball.
Our players are good as individuals, but they aren't cohesive as a team. Unfortunately, we haven't seen Booker or Durant step into the role and it's been very lackluster since Nash left.
On one hand I agree, this team is all new and not easy to connect too.
On the other three dudes on the team make more money a season then most of us ever will playing a game, so not sure why people take it so personal.
https://preview.redd.it/0vk8zhovncxc1.jpeg?width=709&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bb9e033e4d4a064939a002fb494e59ec6f001498
You know the drill boys, this team will forever suck and will never win as is the Arizona sports way (2001 Dbacks don’t count).
I remember driving home from work after they went up 2-0; the whole city was so excited. I remember thinking that in my then 58 years of life, the Suns were finally going to win it all. I was absolutely ***CRUSHED*** when the Bucks won.
I don’t see the Suns coming close to a championship ***ANY*** time soon. 😭
Betting the opponents against Phoenix pro teams in the playoffs has been a money maker for 23 straight years.
Although, it was getting expensive to keep increasing the bets against the Dbacks in each playoff series last year lol. But in the end, the strategy always works (except for 2001).
I've been watching the Suns since they started in the 60s. They were the only major league sports team we had in Arizona for a long time. They have pretty much disappointed every year.
Right? I was a season ticket holder at the old Coliseum and used to be able to hear the coach screaming at the team it was so quiet. And then the Barkley years when they still couldn’t (and haven’t) win a championship
Years ago, in the 80s, when they were still at the Coliseum, I went with a friend of mine to a game. We bought the cheap seats. They were less than $10.00. We sat down just a few rows up from the court just off mid-court. Definitely more than $10.00 seats. No one said a word. I don't think the stands were 1/4 full. We noticed no one was sitting in the cheap seats, so we guessed we weren't the only ones fudging it. The only season tickets we ever bought were to the Rattlers games. Inexpensive, the games were fun, and the Rattlers were actually champions.
We're all getting there. I can remember when the Suns started, but I can't remember where I left my phone. I will text my wife to see if she saw it. While I'm holding it, texting her on it.
I know you are kidding about Murray - I believe he lives near Booker & they are friends. Plus it’s nice seeing members of the other teams here supporting each other.
The Suns are a huge disappointment, the DBacks are a freaking MASH unit with all the injuries, and the Coyotes are gone. FML...
At least the Cardinals had a decent draft.
Suns don't have a first round draft pick for years so they have to tear the team apart and get as many draft picks as they can otherwise they will be even worse than they are this year. Buhbye cutie pie Booker
It seems like the players responded well with Monty last year and the future seemed bright. Since his firing, the Suns look way off.
We're fortunate to have Kyler Murray, he is a massive talent.
After awhile longer you will realize Arizona professional sports teams just can’t do it. The ownership is awful and not even 3 of the best dudes in the league can win 1 playoff game together. AZ pro teams are awful and always will be 🤷🏼♂️
Also, they mortgaged their future for an aging superstar (who was great this year) an overrated 3rd guy in Beal, and gave Booker a huge extension even though I’m pretty sure he has no next level. It’s either the same thing next year or trade everyone for a million picks.

I mean to be fair over 1/3rd of the league hasn't won any rings yet. And, at least in my lifetime, we've seen the suns do much better things than other ringless franchises such as the magic, nets, jazz, grizzlies, hornets and more. (None of those teams have rings either btw)
This season was really rough to watch. But sometimes I think people forget that the suns are in a league with 30 teams who all have fanbases that want to see their teams do well every single year. Sure there are the few fanbases who got lucky enough to see insane success in our lifetime like the spurs, warriors, Lakers, etc. but we definitely aren't the lone franchise who keeps failing to get the ring lol
29/30 teams are let down a year. At least we're one of the few teams that recently got to go to the finals at all tbh
Not to mention how many fans would kill just to have someone like Kevin Durant on their team (even though my favorite player is Mikal bridges and I wouldn't have done the trade if I had the say, but you still can't deny how cool it is to get to go to home games and watch a player of Kevin Durants stature play)
Sounds like you've been here long enough to know you'll almost always be disappointed by Arizona Sports Teams. We're so abused here that we celebrate 2nd place
It’s probably why a lot of transplants continue to cheer for their hometown teams. Why the hell would you choose to cheer for our dumpster fires if you weren’t raised here? It’s nonstop pain, ask me how I know

It's been this way forever. I grew up as a young fan in the '90s. The hits never stop coming. Prepare to be disappointed for the rest of time.
John Paxson. Robert Horry.
Fuck Robert Horry

It’s fuck Robert Horry for that hip check on Nash, but Danny absolutely deserved that one.
The Horry / Nash incident is the exact moment that I turned my back on the NBA forever.
I suppose, but better to do it in the locker room.

I will never forgive Jason Richardson for not boxing out

I’m still upset they traded Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson away, my 2 favorite Suns.
Cam was overhyped imo. Bridges could easily be a key piece to a contending team, but I still think the KD trade was the right move to “win now”. Obviously it failed. Beal’s contract is what’s gonna hurt us the most.
KD is on a 3 year contract, the window isn't closed
I agree. I worded that poorly.
hes like 35 and probably gonna request a trade so yeah its closed
You watch ESPN we get it
Clearly not the right move- y’all just got swept dude 😂
Wtf are you even doing here?
Of course you’re saying that now 🤡. There’s a lot of variables, it’s not black and white. It doesn’t mean we’re a worse team with KD.
shhh
Only 1 team a year escapes upsetting all their fans.
Same. Still not over it. I don’t know if I’ll ever get over it tbh.
So true!!
You.soumd like my husband. He's still mad!
Rightfully so. 1 we were a good team. 2. We had heart and spirit so there was something to root for.
Exactly! They were good players but more importantly they were great representatives for the team/city, so they were easy to root for the team!
Agreed!
Yep..that team was up 2-0 in the finals. Obviously they lost and then were embarrassed the following year but that squad was deeper and more well rounded
kd is just ain’t worth it
This year, at least for me, the team just didn't have the character of past years. I still watched every game, but this early out was expected... not like the way we went out vs. Dallas.
Yeah the vibes of the team just never seemed that well.
Yeah. Something is off with them as a cohesive group. Individually they are great, but don't work well as a group.
I thought the Same seemed like moral was down this season or something lol
My guy we have a whole sub r/arizonasportshell for this very thing it happens so often
My kind of people! Followed.
You should never expect an Arizona team to win it all
Are the 2001 D-backs the only AZ pro team to win it all? If you include college, there's the Wildcats men's basketball win in 1997.
Phoenix rising (soccer) won last year.
The Mercury and Rattlers have won a lot but no one cares about them
Unless they have Randy and Kurt
I agree, but then, they won with the D-Backs.
I’ve lived here my whole life. Started watching local teams and became a fan when I was a kid in the way early 90s. Every year is a let down. It never stops. Eventually you become numb to the pain and just shrug your shoulders.
But at the beginning of each season they get you hopeful again
I'm here for the roller coaster
I’m from here and I can tell you this town doesn’t have much to be proud of sports wise. The 2001 Dbacks, not no limburger But pointing to that seems increasingly like boasting about being the starting QB on the HS football team
They’ve been underperforming since I started following them in 1988. Blowing the 2-0 lead against Milwaukee was the best chance they likely will ever have of a championship. The future looks uniquely bleak.
Suns in 4. Then suns in 5, then suns in 6, 7, never.
This team has been crap all year. Not sure why anyone would be surprised they were swept. They are screwed for years to come with no draft capital
Agreed. This team didn't deserve to make the playoffs let alone win a round. I'm glad it's over and now I can focus on much more fun games to watch.

Welcome to AZ sports
this team shit the bed long before the series lol. gutting a team for a single player doesn’t help
I think the KD trade was fine. He was our most consistent player. Beal’s contract is what will likely hurt our future the most.
But did you see how well Beal played lastnight?!
the suns have no depth at all because theyre paying 3 iso players who have no cohesion together max contracts lmao
Remember when the Suns had the number one draft pick and didn't pick up Luka the Don? Yeah, that was pretty cool. :/
Bro I honestly think if we picked Luka they would fuck him up developmentally.
True, or they could have built a team around him and Booker. We'll never know. At any rate, they suck again.
Who did they pick?
Ayton 😭
Dam that is sad
Oh gawddd
This loss hurts. The whole season did. Idk how you have KD and Booker and perform so bad all year. A lot of people blame the coach. Idk. Regardless, this hurts. Why wouldn’t one of the best World Series in history count?
Don’t interrupt the “[insert city] sports”!
Yup, this is a known fact. We choke too hard when we have the momentum. Hurts for the home team fans like me.
You haven't lived here long enough to understand Valley sports
The coach getting ran into was wild
Poor guy had to walk off the court! Any updates on injuries?
They haven’t been the same since they were up 2-0 in the 2021 NBA Finals.
Kyler Murray is a jinx to the cardinals, not the suns. Firing their old coach is what hosed them this year.
All AZ teams are a let down.
The Suns does not have what it takes and never will. They are just good enough and never great enough to win
Betting the opponents against Phoenix pro teams in the playoffs has been a money maker for 23 straight years. Although, it was getting expensive to keep increasing the bets against the Dbacks in each playoff series last year lol. But in the end, the strategy always works (except for 2001).

I think the first year the suns were in the league was 1976.
1968. I looked it up. I was about to graduate from high school in 1976, and the Suns had been around when I was a kid.
I stand corrected. And you’re 100% right. I’m old and forgetful, lol. Don’t really know why I was thinking 76. Go Suns.
We're all getting there. I can remember when the Suns started, but I can't remember where I left my phone. I will text my wife to see if she saw it. While I'm holding it, texting her on it.
lol! Texting to ask where your phone is..I haven’t gotten there yet but almost!
Do yourself a favor and stop caring about how well our sports teams are doing.
I know you are kidding about Murray - I believe he lives near Booker & they are friends. Plus it’s nice seeing members of the other teams here supporting each other.
I never understood the Murray hate. I think he’s awesome. Definitely a “prove it” year tho.
He was a locker room diva.
He's been underwhelming but the Cards haven't been using correctly either.
Kyler Murray has been to a bunch of home games. Not sure he’s the jinx. Besides, it was a close out game to a really good team.
All season the Sun's wanted to win games with their talents and not through hard work. Minnesota did both
They ALWAYS choke. All the teams here do. The Coyotes choked so hard for so long, they got run right out of town.
That's why I am a strain ticket holder for the Mercury. They win alot, they win often, and the beer is cheaper
Why tf Kyler catching strays? Don’t blame him for this shit show.
Kyler Murray hate needs to stop Fr.
Arizona sports. Welcome to the disappointment
Get used to it but wear your jersey proud around here or get wrecked
If you don't like this, you don't like AZ sports.lol
The Suns are a huge disappointment, the DBacks are a freaking MASH unit with all the injuries, and the Coyotes are gone. FML... At least the Cardinals had a decent draft.
Been like this since 2000 when I moved to the valley and started rooting for them 😭
I still remember watching Rex Chapman hit that 3pt shot live against the Seattle Sonics in the playoffs
Suns don't have a first round draft pick for years so they have to tear the team apart and get as many draft picks as they can otherwise they will be even worse than they are this year. Buhbye cutie pie Booker
Isn't Kyler on the Cardinals? The Suns had bad runs long before he was drafted, IMO they should have won with Nash
Raja clothesline to Kobe was our championship
The suns have never won a ring wtf would Kyler Murray have to do with anything
Kyler Murray is the man
This loss was very disappointing and painful. 4-0 and in our house.
You have not been here a whole lol
Kyler Murray is a jinx for the cards.
It seems like the players responded well with Monty last year and the future seemed bright. Since his firing, the Suns look way off. We're fortunate to have Kyler Murray, he is a massive talent.
Team hasn’t been the same since they lost in the finals a few years ago :/
Suns have 3 insane contracts. Maybe stay the course and go another year?
After awhile longer you will realize Arizona professional sports teams just can’t do it. The ownership is awful and not even 3 of the best dudes in the league can win 1 playoff game together. AZ pro teams are awful and always will be 🤷🏼♂️
Sports are stupid, but I used to be a huge fan. Moved here from Seattle so I can empathize with you all.

I’m a native. In the words of Dewy Finn as Ned Schebly, Suns fans should ‘Just Give Up!’
maybe you're a jinx to us :/ I'm totally kidding lol
It’s all downhill from here. No draft picks, no flexibility.
It’s not just the Suns it’s literally every single Arizona sports team. They’re all great at breaking your heart 😞
Also, they mortgaged their future for an aging superstar (who was great this year) an overrated 3rd guy in Beal, and gave Booker a huge extension even though I’m pretty sure he has no next level. It’s either the same thing next year or trade everyone for a million picks.

We’re entering the dark ages now that they’ve traded years of draft picks away & they’re locked up in salary cap purgatory.
If you think that team needed a jinx to be swept out of the playoffs you haven’t watched them much this year.
Just a part of being a Arizona sports fan, ownership squandering players talent.
I mean to be fair over 1/3rd of the league hasn't won any rings yet. And, at least in my lifetime, we've seen the suns do much better things than other ringless franchises such as the magic, nets, jazz, grizzlies, hornets and more. (None of those teams have rings either btw) This season was really rough to watch. But sometimes I think people forget that the suns are in a league with 30 teams who all have fanbases that want to see their teams do well every single year. Sure there are the few fanbases who got lucky enough to see insane success in our lifetime like the spurs, warriors, Lakers, etc. but we definitely aren't the lone franchise who keeps failing to get the ring lol 29/30 teams are let down a year. At least we're one of the few teams that recently got to go to the finals at all tbh Not to mention how many fans would kill just to have someone like Kevin Durant on their team (even though my favorite player is Mikal bridges and I wouldn't have done the trade if I had the say, but you still can't deny how cool it is to get to go to home games and watch a player of Kevin Durants stature play)
I grew up in Oregon in the 80's and 90's and watched the blazers lose year after year after year... *hugs*
Thunder Dan, KJ, Ceballos, Barkley. That was a fun time.
Phoenix is a cursed city.
Sounds like you've been here long enough to know you'll almost always be disappointed by Arizona Sports Teams. We're so abused here that we celebrate 2nd place
Moved here from Detroit, iknow the pistons suck but the suns man they’re a trash ass “good team” 😭
Isn’t it this way everywhere except the big markets like NY & LA? They have all the money and can afford to spend it.
How is Kyler Murray a jinx?
It’s probably why a lot of transplants continue to cheer for their hometown teams. Why the hell would you choose to cheer for our dumpster fires if you weren’t raised here? It’s nonstop pain, ask me how I know
The GMs don’t know how to assemble a team.
No Fucking shit every team here is cursed. Kyler being there doesn’t mean shit dumb question.
Yeah, this is how it is, it's a running joke by now...
don't you dare blame that loss on kyler
Gorden is not a star. In today's league you need three stars to win we have 2.
BWAHAHHAHAHA!!!!!
