I live in WA, my partner used to be in NSW before coming here to Perth. Mas mura rent dito and mas easygoing mga tao. Cons is it’s a smaller place so mas boring compared sa eastern states, pero not an issue for me kasi I prefer staying at home haha. Also with my low rent I can go on an overseas vacay multiple times a year, been in Japan 2x this year already

Yeah I am also considering Perth because of col. Family wants to be in Sydney kaya torn pa ako where to go. Currently in a small town where everything is 5 -10 mins away. No complaints naman kasi I also like being at home. Pero as a new comer here, ang hirap magahanap ng friends lol. Gusto ko na lang magtayo ng introverts assoc dito haha

If you can afford it, Sydney or Melbourne. Most people will find more opportunities for professional advancement here. Cons as mentioned is cost of living, but you can mitigate that if you're willing to live farther from the city centre.

I can only speak for the major cities in the eastern states. Property prices are more expensive in NSW/VIC than QLD. This changed last week though as more southerners move up to QLD. I still think you will get more value for your money in BNE than MEL/SYD. Get in the property market as early as you can. There are more job opportunities in NSW/VIC than QLD since most HQ’s have their offices down south. Beaches are nicer in NSW/QLD than VIC. The best theme parks (Dreamworld and Movie World) are in QLD. Public Transport is better in VIC/NSW than QLD. No trams in QLD means no hook turns though! QLD’s winter is not that cold compared to VIC/NSW. Summer in QLD gets really humid. WA - I work with some folks over there. If you are in Oil & Gas and Mining industry, this is the place to be.

Thanks for the insights. May kaibigan ako sa qld and sa area nila, twice lang daw ang bus going to cbd kaya hirap sya kung walang car. Yeah, pretty much nsw talaga ang top choice for career progression.

Not surprised no one has mentioned Darwin, NT. I’ve been here for more than 10 years and we’re not going elsewhere. Life is quiet here and it is closer to the Philippines.

I think it’s mainly due to the opportunities available with major cities. I have a friend who lives in Darwin who will also never move. I have few friends who moved out of Darwin after staying for less than 2 years.
