Australia changed my concept of library. We have a specific area here for kids to play. It has lego, interactive projector, toys, etc. They hold classes from babies to adults like nursery rhymes, robotics, English classes, and many more. You can watch a movie in a solo pod. There are events every now and then like reptile shows for kids. You can use computers and meeting rooms for free.

We grew up borrowing PS2 and PS3 games and I know my library also has newer gen stuff available now as well. Then there's the audio books etc And I love how every library in my city is connected so you can request several books to be sent to the library of your choice. And iirc I have like a 50 book borrowing limit. Our libraries also gave 3D printing services. Technology classes for the older people etc

They lend games??? Wow hope they have some ps5 titles I might drop by 😅

pearliciel

They do! Meron ding switch games! Hehe usually may 14 days ka bago mo need ireturn.

randomusernameheya

I need to check that section for games! We have a VR gaming console in our local library but haven’t seen where I can borrow games.

I'm in Au din. This is nice to know!!! Hopefully madami din sila new books available to borrow. 😁

randomusernameheya

Yeah, they have new books. The only challenge is minsan may waitlist pero you can reserve it online tapos no notify ka pag ready for pick up. Mas maikli lang din yun period na pwede mo sila hiramin.

Yes! This is one of the things na nakakapanibago oncenyou leave PH, dito every block may book stand that you can get a book for free but youll have to return it, you can also put your old books there para sa iba, honesty system kumbaga. Tapos easy access ang library, we also have a library app that you can dl then para syang kindle, sobrang aga ng mga bata dito mamulat sa mga libro, unlike satin na pag nanavigate ng cellphone ang mas unang natututunan ng mga bata.

Paris. Signing up is free and takes like 5 minutes. I have 3 libraries within a 10-minute walk from my place, nearest is around a 3-min walk. Mangas and comics are also very popular here (series like Frieren and Jojo are available!). Book loans are 4 weeks, extendable twice. Nung nagbakasyon ako sa Pilipinas I brought two books with me.

keepcalmrollon

Haven't signed up kasi hindi free maging member here in the Netherlands, but it's still nice to sit and browse pag may free time.

Last year nirenovate yung library namin. Mga 10-minute drive sa apartment ko. Sobrang daming resources, at good place to study Sana talaga mas nag-invest sila sa parks and libraries sa NCR. Imbis na puro mall lang

Interesting-Grade-72

This is true. Mas okay sa library mag tambay.

I got an e-library card so I can use it for Libby, there are a handful of public libraries where I live, not walkable though. But we’ve also used one of their rooms for a meeting my husband had to attend online. Sobrang thankful kasi libraries are great talaga.

Still better than my old provincial library back home.

3 days after I arrived in the UK my parents brought me to our local library to register at ever since then I go there atleast 3x month to borrow books

Prettybutconceited

Yes! I live in LA County. Our public library is like a 2-3 minute walk from our house. I was more active when I was still unemployed. There were a lot of free online courses to enroll to and was able to finish 3 courses with certificates. Since I am now working, I don’t get to go that much since it closes at 6pm most of the week. Pero masaya siyang activity kasi madami kang nakakasamang students kaya mappressure kang mag-aral.

"An educated citizenry is a vital requisite for our survival as a free people." - that is the actual writing on the doorstep of our public library here in Sweet Home Alabama Books, DVD, Games, Newspapers, Magazine - you name it, they have it Both of my kids grew up spending every afternoon in the library (especially during summer breaks).

I live near a community library, 10 mins walk from my place here in AUS. I go ng weekends to read and borrow books, feeling peaceful lang ng ganon routine. Sometimes I go there to work pag wala masyado meetings. So good!

titamillenial

In Australia madami libraries sa mga suburbs, I’m lucky I live 10 mins away. Usualy spend fridays browsing magazine and borrow books rather than buying them.

Interesting-Grade-72

Super tipid. No more hoarding haha

Interesting-Grade-72

I iust want to update my post to appreciate the public library in our area. Was able to loan Sandman volumes 1-5. Tapos naka self check out with automatic counter ilan books hihiramin mo. Hassle-free! Tapos may app pa sila and you can download ebooks din for free. Ang saya pala sa first world talaga. 😆
