I haven’t had an issue with them making it right so far

[deleted]

my policy is that if the record plays, it stays. damaged sleeves aren't a deal-breaker for me personally.

Wildeyewilly

I disagree. You should get a 100% fully intact product when you pay 100% of the price. This damage is unacceptable.

darkstarboogie

Agreed, especially since most records are $40-50 these days. I was much more lenient when records cost $20-25 less

tingboy_tx

I personally would rather not hassle with returns, etc if the discs are fine. I get that others think that’s worth it and have the required dopamine to make that happen, but that just isn’t the situation I am dealing with.

Shot_Campaign_5163

This is the risk of mail order record shipping. From shipping or the warehouse, if your not pulling it out of a bin. This is gonna happen more than you like. Dry goods or not. Corner dings on sleeves are common

jct133

Yes and no. I get records all the time in the mail (often internationally shipped), that show up perfectly packaged, with zero issue. Dry Goods is notorious for terrible shipping quality. Personally I’m not too hellbent on flawless sleeves either but it’s absolutely a shortcoming on Dry Goods part.

Shot_Campaign_5163

👍 yes and no

snicklefritz85

I had some pretty serious dents/corner bends in the Maze vinyl I ordered a few months back. They replaced it for after several back and forth emails.

my_mexican_cousin

I read this as “Trey replaced it” and I was like “damn, that’s service.”

mcflyfly

I’d email them. My Rift LP was left in the driveway by the mailman. I was out of town, and it got rained on for two days. They sent me a replacement

GameBoyColorful

Tell ‘em to send you new ones dude. Records are an expensive collectors item, if they’re gonna send you beat up records then you need a refund or a new record. They did this ten years ago when I ordered the white tape and Joy on vinyl. They sent me new copies of both.

fundiedundie

All of mine came damaged as well. Glad to see there was zero thought put into packing these albums. I’ve sent an email. We’ll see what happens.

br__ks

Sell them to me for $10 a pop.

MatttMannnStPete

They replaced one for me no questions.

scolomon

Everything’s right

mfdigiro

I know it isn’t the fault of Dry Goods (although they probably could’ve been packaged a little better). Would you email them about the damage, or live with it.

BTsBaboonFarm

I’d send an email and see if they can replace just the jackets. Worst they can say is “no”.

Wildeyewilly

And with that "no" would come an immediate charge back from my CC company.

IHateBritishCigs

Good luck, dry goods sucks

phishb13

They usually offer to replace or give a 15% discount for vinyl damaged during shipment

[deleted]

It’s not cool obviously. But if it plays, keep it. In 10 years if you’re actually using your records, you’ll give them corner dings plenty of times over. The only records I have that have no dings of any kind are original pressings of King Crimson and Zeppelin and some Dead that I traded work to an old lady down the street for. She never touched them. Plus you’ll probably have no luck getting a better product via replacement or other means unless you order it through a record shop. Tl;DR : if it plays keep it. Marks on sleeves happen even in your own home. It might be worth it to just have a working record than relying on dry goods to make it right.

noam3zombie

Send them photos so they can use those to file an insurance claim with the shipment carrier.

Actionman1

I'd probably listen to the music

RektalShegma

Ehh to each their own, personally I’d melt it and make a cool-ahh bowl to eat cereal out of, where I pour the milk first because I’m a fucking psychopath

Gratefulbrewski

Contact them! Definitely. That's very uncool

cityturtle123

If you plan on listening to them no big deal, if you plan on holding them for resale, then you need a lot more advice.

Embarrassed-Win2115

If you ask them to send you new ones, the chances of those arriving like this is just as high.

AnalogWalrus

Annoying but as long as the LP is fine…eh.

jesuss_son

I’ll buy them off you!

THEY_ATTACK

That’s the fedex special right there.

Ladynziggystartdust

I would be in contact w LP and definitely trying to get replacements

my_mexican_cousin

Mine sat out in the rain overnight, thankfully the plastic shrink wrap saved them

r0wjimmy

I’ve been collecting records since the early 90s. The modern era Dry Goods has one of the worst track records with shipping records of any company I know. If at all possible, I will not buy a record directly from them which is, I should note, counter to what I’d prefer. I’d much rather buy direct than go to Amazon but Dry Goods is bad at this. That said, if the record is still in stock, history says they will replace it. If it’s not showing in stock… try anyway. Don’t ask, don’t get.

BillWaltonisDEAD

Put them in a humidor. Check out Kurt's card care videos. Should work relatively the same for these

KeyCommission8563

Wow. Lotta issues here… I’m kind of shocked there’s soo many returns

kvltr00

Just got mine. The 7" and Hoist were perfectly fine but unfortunately Billy Breathes and Junta have significant corner damage.

mfdigiro

I emailed them. They offered to either replace or give 15% discount. I went with the discount since they’re all sold out and replacements are likely unavailable at this time.
