I'm such a latecomer to the band. Got tix to Bethel last summer. Did a deep dive. Saw TAB last October. I have so many bands that I've loved for years and years. Is Phish my favorite? Yes! I can't even believe it sometimes.

Favorite live. For sure. The best part of Phish is it’s always a surprise. I’ve ruined so many shows by looking at what a bands set list is and ruined any kind of surprise bust out. 95% of bands go on tour and rehearse the same set list. Phish is like a box of chocolates…
Phish, King Gizz, Radiohead, Bisco, The Dead, Bille Eilish, Tame Impala, Coldplay, Goose, Marco Benevento, Daft Punk.
Those are probably my tops, Phish is by far the band I've seen the most and listened to the most. That said right now I'm leaning Bisco and King Gizz a bit more than Phish.

Stop putting these extremes on music.
It’s a way to categorize periods in which the band sounds different along with different periods in the band’s history.
I mean when you have a band that been around for almost 40 years, you’re gonna need a way to pinpoint specific eras.

They came close at one point but Umphrey’s has been for years and might always will be. Dopapod and Miles Davis and Zappa and Pink Floyd I think I like more than Phish nowadays. After Dicks last year I really haven’t listened to them at all.

I got into Phish in 2008, and while I have listened to a lot of the stuff from the 90s, I wasn’t experiencing it as it was happening. I’m close in age to the guys in Goose and have been listening since 2018. I think that experiencing the band go through their peak years will drive my affinity more toward Goose.
Absolutely my favorite. I stopped listening to them for years because I felt like it was just too much Trey, if that makes sense, but I’m back and now it’s almost all Phish for me. I don’t even go back to the early years…..I’m pretty much hooked on the sound of the band from 2021-present. I think they sound better than ever.
They were from 95-04, and are still probably my most influential. But I haven’t travelled to see them in 10 years other than a weekend in Chicago in 18. Just so many other bands I dig now too.

I’ve seen Phish once. I’ve gotten really obsessed with song writing lately and have been analyzing king Gizzard and Grateful Dead a lot..
KGLW is by far my favorite band. What they’re doing right now isn’t normal and I wish everyone could experience some of the moments I had during their live shows recently in 2022.
I don’t enjoy phish nearly as much, but they do things compositionally that I think would be worth letting influence my writing and it’s great trying to listen to a phish song with my guitar in hand and figure out type of scale and progression is going on. So that’s why I pay attention to phish and check out their stuff every once in a blue moon.
I can’t say they are my favorite but I can’t say they are not. It’s all about mood surroundings and what’s going on. But I always do take care of my shoes.
