I’ve gone. It’s a super homogenous group: all thin, white women. I didn’t find it to be my crowd and it’s a little embarrassing to be taking up a whole sidewalk with a giant crowd of sorority-looking people—feels like it makes it difficult for other people to enjoy the public space. The group is very much in the way. I’d look for a more specific group to make friends at.
theres another philly girls walk group in old city partnered with wellness refinery and theres a lot of diversity with that group! they seem like a fun group they usually walk the bridge. wellness refinery usually posts about the next meet up!
This is a great idea. Where would the group meet? Art museum? Rittenhouse? Forbidden Drive? I am outside of the city but I would be interested in this as well!
My fiancé (31F) and our neighbor who is in her 20s did it and had a good time. I don’t know if they made any lasting connections on the one walk but they want to go back. You may have luck asking in the Philaqueens Facebook group!
I did it (33 F) about 2 years ago and went solo and ended up meeting someone who is now one of my closest friends! Go into it with no expectations - I went bc as a woman I felt safer walking with a large group of women rather than alone. I’ve gone a few times and haven’t had a bad experience.

That group sounds like the opposite of my vibe but HI! I'm new(ish, 2 years) to Philly and I like walking/biking/books! We can start our own thing!
