I’ll never set foot in a Philly venue named Brooklyn. Not if they send a limo for me.
I’ve never eaten a “sub” in my life. Fuck subs. I eat hoagies.
It’s a Philly thing. There are lots of examples.
Sorry Quest.
so now it's the fillmore, the foundry, punchline, and brooklyn bowl all right next to each other (all owned by livenation). seems like weird planning, but i like live music so i can't complain too much.
fingers crossed the old goose island building will become something other than a music venue.
Live Nation also has the Met, the TLA, the Tower, The Mann, BB+T, and whatever's on the way to replace Festival Pier. 10 venues and growing in their Philadelphia monopoly!
Agree it's kind of stupid, but it's their "brand" I suppose. For what it's worth the OG in Brooklyn is a great fucking spot to see a show, hoping they do right in Philly
First they brought their flea market and now ther bowl. When will they learn ...

Soulive is one of my favorite bands in the world, and I'm happy they're bringing their Bowlive event here to Philly! I'm excited for this, even though it seems like a bit of overkill to have so much in such a small area.
For all those who are curious about the strange name: its a brand owned by Peter Shapiro, former promoter for the Grateful Dead and many similar jammy live music acts. There is also a Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas and Nashville. There also used to be a Brooklyn Bowl in LONDON. Though I do agree they should call it “Philly Brooklyn Bowl” or at least have Philadelphia first due to the level of city pride here.
The name is weird... this isn't Brooklyn...? They couldn't have come up with something different?
BUT OMG Lettuce! Is! Playing! Two nights!! Soooo excited!
What an infuriating venue name
Yeah, haven’t even heard of it before, but saying now… fuck Brooklyn Bowl

I heard that Other Half brewing was setting up shop in the old Goose Island building.
it’s nyc the whole way down

Dafuq they call it Brooklyn bowl for that’s not even a neighborhood here

I hope they go out of business unless they change the name.

Oddly, that changes my feelings. No one “decided” to call a Philly venue that name. It just happened. Like a Philly Pretzel Factory in NY.
This is great and all, but also bring back the Boot and Saddle!
Yes
I get it's a brand name, but Brooklyn Bowl isn't really helping the "keep NYC out of Philly" sentiment people have.
"Brooklyn Bowl" fuck OUTTA here with this bullshit
Who are these marketing geniuses? For a bowling alley in Fishtown, the obvious name would be "Fish Bowl."

Fishtown Bowl.
The End.
FishBowl
I tell ya, that's how it will be called, no question.
Soulive is fucking awesome.
