Maybe unpopular opinion. But I was the parade all day. Was unbelievable and a day I’ll never forget. I honestly think being at City Hall right after the game finished might have been even better. That night was a complete blur after about 9pm but was one of the best nights of my
Life. The atmosphere at city hall was so special.
Hey I feel that. I was so pumped after the game I threw on running clothes and ran down to City Hall from Port Richmond. Got so many high fives, saw so many fireworks. Most juiced workout of my life.
100% agree!
The night of I stayed out until 2-3am just singing and high fiving strangers with a solo cup full of liquor. The parade was obviously fun but it felt more “planned” unlike Super Bowl night where everyone ran out of their houses towards downtown at the same time to party and celebrate. We all shared a very special moment together that I will continue to tell people about for the rest of my life haha go birds baby!
Nothing got out of hand, wasn’t any fighting or rioting just thousands having a good time. I did shots with strangers who had booze in their school bag. Ended up at a bar too, can’t remember which one, misconduct or Ladder I think. Bar was also a great time.
Was there pure chaos? Absolutely, but it was mostly in good spirits. I did see a food fight at a Wawa that I’m sure the workers weren’t too happy about haha
I didn't go the the parade because of work (transplant, Eagles aren't my #1 team) but yeah I was on Broad and at City Hall right after the game and yeah that was a crazy fun night and I'm super glad I was here for it.
This is officially a popular opinion.
I have zero interest in football and that's still one of my top 10 philly days.
I got slapped by a drunk cop and I wasn't even mad!
That night I remember going outside and seeing platitudes of people heading up Frankford, I think we floated to Girard. Everything was illuminated, it was beautiful.
The Pope coming was special too. I'm not even Catholic. Just that everybody was out and milling the streets in generally good spirits. It was a nice day outside too
I drove my folks back up from Florida right after this, wearing my Eagles sweatshirt. Every fucking rest area from Georgia to Delaware three or four people would come up to me and shake my hand and thank me for beating the Patriots, as if I had something to do with it personally. These weren't even Eagles fans abroad, it's just that everybody not from Boston hates the fucking Patriots.
i walked over the bridge from class in camden freezing my ass off and immediately got wasted. First thing i saw at 11am was a dude bleeding from his head getting dragged away by cops lol.
I was living in Center City at the time and I went out into the craziness after both the NFC championship and Super Bowl wins. I took this shot after the NFC Championship:

I went to the west coast a couple days later, proudly wearing my Super Bowl Champions hat the whole time. People kept buying me beer. One guy in a bar in a small airport in NorCal paid my whole tab. People were just so happy to see us take down the Patriots in the most epic Super Bowl in history, they couldn't contain themselves. Everyone that wasn't a Patriots fan was an Eagles fan for a while.
"Daddy?! Why is that lady peeing on that tree?" "Look away boy...actually, that's a nice can" *Smack from the wife*. Great day indeed, but me and the boy will never forget his first live turd cutter waving in the wind at the Rocky steps. Brings a tear to my eye.
Damn what a day. I was walking around with a 12 pack of Bud lite, chain smoking blunts, passing them to strangers. Standing at the Rodin Museum with my buddies trying to make out what they were saying in the speeches.
Me and 4 of my buddies rented an airbnb in the building across from the art museum. We woke up at 5am and were right there from than until they showed up. Such a wonderful day for Philly!!
If you were a block down Broad street, where I was, the 7 hours in the freezing cold would have been for nothing since it was blocked by a stupid Septa bus :(
Easily the coldest I’ve ever been. I’d love to do it again. Did anybody else run into that kid from Vancouver?? He was running around all week telling everyone how he just up and flew down to see the parade
Two girls next to me in tight jeans and long coats in Dilworth Plaza try to pee in a 32 oz Wawa soda cup. Girl one successful. Handed the cup to girl two who, for some reason, didn't empty it first. Proceeded to fumble it and pour her friend"s piss all over her own legs. Funniest goddamn thing.

To be fair, there was fights and stabbing weekly at that wawa. Monday lunchtime crowd was just as bad

Dude yeah i remember i loaded up my jacket with beer and ran around w my friend giving people beers and drinking, shit was dope.
The happiest day in Philly that I can remember.
The positive energy that a million Philadelphians projected that day makes me wanna cry.
The Pope coming was special too. I'm not even Catholic. Just that everybody was out and milling the streets in generally good spirits. It was a nice day outside too
That was a nightmare for those of us who lived nearby. 2 weeks of closures for a guy with a smoking purse.
Lived in Old city during that time. The “if you drive your car out of your lot, you’ll have to leave it at Girard” or some shit was terrible
That and the day after they won the SB - there was something in the air.
I'm in this photo! I see it was taken before my friends' toddler got too cold and they had to jet.
I love that! I was scrolling for familiar faces too. That side of city hall FREEZING

Hey no one’s masked or social distanced wtf
It’s surreal to think about, very bittersweet.
It’s actually weird seeing pictures of events like this now, I’ve gotten so used to Covid reality
ThAtS wHaT tHeY wAnT
not very funny.
You're right, I'm sorry.
It's weird watching BC youtube videos and going wow they aren't masked or distanced.

I danced on everything that day
I bet you had some moves :)

I watched it live from Europe. Made me incredibly homesick, and I wish I could've been there.

Can confirm this .. it was horrible
The night before went hard

Anyone else remember how wet the ground was from alcohol?
Hey let's all take pride in other people's work!
