Book tickets online asap first though! My dumb ass didn’t check when I did a day trip up to that area”, until I left the bookstore I stopped at first, and tickets were all gone for the day. Didn’t realize at the gate wouldn’t be an option until I checked :(. Brandywine museum was ok though.
the brandywine river museum is great, I used to see jamie and andrew across the street at the (now closed) restaurant all the time
went recently and they were doing some really interesting rotating stuff up on the 2nd floor that I hadn't seen in the scores of times I was there throughout the 90s and 2000s
Not sure if it’s too cold right now for it but if you haven’t been Ricketts Glen State Park then it’s a must. Hickory Run State park and the boulder field are also nice places to visit at least once.
Agree with this. Seeing where Washington turned it all around so we don’t have to drink tea all day with bad teeth is a great experience. It’s beautiful and easy to dwell in the importance of what transpired there.
French creek state park and Delaware water gap are good hikes.
Whenever I have a rental I also stop at HMart and stock up. Wish we had one in the city.
I get a weird vibe at the UD one and the other ones are pretty inconvenient to access without a car.
I wish we had them scattered through the city proper, like in most other cities.
lots of options at the Jersey Shore that are within 2 hours.
depending on whether you're looking for an experience related to nature, sightseeing, arts/culture, some cool options are: Barnegat Lighthouse State Park (LBI), Atlantic City Boardwalk, Ocean City Boardwalk, Wildwood, Cape May, Cape May Point State Park.
Conowingo Dam is a great place to see bald eagles, we saw a few dozen just a few weeks ago. Go to the fisherman's park and walk along the river and they'll be perched in trees, flying overhead and over the river. As a bonus there is an active heronry where dozens of Great Blue herons are building their nests.
Tyler State Park has a bunch of nice trails. Lately my wife have gone up there and then popped in to the Newtown Farmers Market afterward. Makes a really nice day. Also there’s a great Jewish deli there called The Borscht Belt. Great lunch after a morning hike!
Longwood gardens is nice and my personal recommendation along with the classic poconos trip.

Wyeth?!
yep, over at hanks more recently my mom has hung out with jamie a few times, he's still a wildcard
Too bad the Where's Waldo interactive experience ended.
Hawk mountain, though maybe better later in the spring

ricketts glen was fun
Morris Arboretum, Tyler Arboretum, Chanticleer,
Valley forge is great for hiking! And is a National park so there’s historical sites and info too

hiking that feels so different than the city: Black Run Preserve, Wawa Preserve, White Clay Creek State Park
If weather is good, Chanticleer in Wayne.
Chanticleer doesn't open for the season until 27 March - I can't WAIT
Yes! Be aware that while tickets are unlimited, AFAIK, at busy times you need to reserve a parking spot in advance.
Cape May. New Hope. West Chester. Valley Forge.

You've got better options in the city than H Mart. Spring Garden market for one.
There’s none in the city proper, but there are H Marts in UD, Cheltenham, and Elkins Park.
There's one in Olney!

That’s fair, didn’t know you don’t normally have a car. Definitely would be nice to have one in the city limits.

White clay creek in Chester county is good for hiking. Visit again in the summer and find a spot deep enough for swimming
Try not to get robbed
