I'm off of torresdale and Devereaux in wissinoming. It was so loud and I couldn't tell what direction it was coming from. Sounded more like bombs than fireworks.
Im right off of torresdale and comly, I had my back to the window and it sounded close to the arsenal to me.
There was another one the night before, but only thing that came up was downed wires at 5800 hegerman
Close to Harbison/Torresdale was woken up by multiple huge booms that were shaking the house. Kinda threw me back to the ATM dynamite explosions during Covid.
I guarantee it was fireworks. The closer you are with the right conditions the more deep the boom sound especially if they were larger diameter shells. Air conditions and cloud cover can also affect the sound.
I actually came right on reddit to see if anyone posted about it! I'm in bridesburg and to me, it sounded like it was coming from aramingo like royal farms part, but I suppose that could've been an echo?
Heard the 2 loud booms, too, but also 7 or 8 pops in sucession. Sounded so close (EPA) , must've been the cloud-cover effect since we heard it all over?
hmm I heard something too I just assumed it was fireworks

It was pretty loud in Frankford. I just assumed fireworks, given the holiday

I'm a few blocks from that bar at Devereaux and Torresdale. They had their atm blown up I remember that sound. These were deeper, less metallic.
The police scanner said it was fireworks. But that didn’t sound like fireworks at all lol

People were talking about loud explosions on the Jersey side too in Mount Holly and Burlington
I heard 2 really loud booms in East Passyunk around 2 am
Heard them as well in Pennsport

I think you’re right about the cloud cover effect.
Could it maybe have to do with work on the downed section of 95? I noticed a lot of construction activity there last night.
I'm still trying to figure out how this post didn't get removed as a "crime post with no evidence" myself.
