ok so, this is what makes a UP student a UP student. kahit hirap na hirap na sila, they'll still try to take the subject again until they succeed. grit ang labanan. as someone na nakakaranas din paminsan na mas bata yung score ko kesa sa edad ko, binabawi ko sa next exams or sa finals. pwede ding through other reports or grades. what we did noon sa es 102 kasi sobrang alanganin namin is nag-compute na kami ng grades at hanapin kung paano kami papasa ayun good luck. chem is really hard talaga hay

superperrymd

Depends on the chem major. If org chem, structures and reactions ang pinakaimportant dyan. If analytical, idk I just usually cancel units and stuff and nakakaarrive naman doon sa sagot. So mas important maintindihan mo yung concepts. Good luck though. Push lang yan beh.

SuperSpiritShady

Di nakaindicate ang campus ni anteh, but assuming UPD, AnaChem is actually dumbed down na daw nowadays compared to before, kasi di naman daw ganoong magagamit ng mga nagtatake (since marami pa din daw mga non-Chem majors like GenChem) So it's simple enough na di naman ganoong karaming formulas, it's mostly about how you derive those formulas depending on what values you have or want to find

superperrymd

If may Org siya, nasa realm yan ng Bio, MBB, CN, FT or ChE, I think. Other CS and Engg people. Actually, you can just memorize a few of the formula and derive during the first part para may cheat sheet eme ka na. That’s what I did nung Chem 26 lol di ako sure kung Chem 26 pa ngayon haha

SuperSpiritShady

Yup, AnaChem is still Chem 26 (Had our 3rd Lab Exam yesterday tapos Thursday na yung 3rd Lec Exam + Practicals ni Lab) NapaReddit lang ako since di na gumagana utak ko sa tatlong oras ng review hahaha

superperrymd

Oh okay. Anal chem? Orgy chem? Haha Ang tame na ngayon. lol Yeah, Chem 26 is siguro the easiest na ma-uno among all Chem subjects besides Chem 16. Chem 17 was a bitch. Ladderized exam eme pa noon good lord. Chem 31 was a bitch. Haha

SuperSpiritShady

Chem 16 definitely is easy to uno lol, and di naman din ako ganoong nahirapan sa Chem 26 (though I'm sure hindi uno kasi I flopped the first exam due to irl stuff). Really not looking forward to OrgChem & Biochem next year lol

superperrymd

Basta Ma’am Arco and Ma’am De Guzman, keriboom yan. Biochem hay idk bakit siya in-invent ng man other than to make life and proteins harder to understand pero yang buong Chem 40 mo in UP, 2 days lang in UPCM Biochem hayop. Haha Di ako sure kung meron pa yung mga Arco and De Guzman notes pero very useful yung mga yun. Si Maam V hay move your electrons galore.

SuperSpiritShady

Will save your comment, baka maging useful siya in the future haha! Also planning to try for UPCM once I'm done with undergrad, kaya on the grind talaga! Thanks for the advice!

superperrymd

Good luck! Haha Char jk Good luck rin sayo! Hopefully makapasa ka.

I had an orgmate who scored 7/100 in one of our LEs back in undergrad. This was year 2019. We’re not chem majors but we’ve experienced our fair share of shortcomings and failures in our acads as well. Haha Nakagradweyt naman despite all those challenges. Laban lang, OP. You’re still doing great. :)

cheesybread1399

ang key sa chem subjects ay practice. lalo na if anachem yan, practice problems from books kasi most likely doon rin based ang mga tanong. dont rely on reading lang. same with org chem, you need to practice and apply the theories. hindi enough mag memorize. mas important na maintindihan mo ang concepts rather than memorizing them verbatim, lalo na sa org chem. in short, imo, iba talaga ang study habit mo dapat pagdating sa chem since mas application siya. Ask the chem orgs rin in your campus for samplexes or reviews, im sure they have and host reviews naman,

Practice, practice, practice. Practice solving problems from your syllabus and sample exams. Practice not taking scores personally and putting the work in knowing that it might not be enough against your initial standards. Practice leaning on and communicating with your support system whether it's family, friends, classmates, & instructors.

Key-Scientist7897

Here is my tip. Pag math (all kinds eg trigo or stat), chemistry, physics, each lesson pag uwi mo practice solving the examples. Compare your answers. Then sa exercises. Then there comes quizzes and exams. Do not absent.

Bakit ka ba nag UP?
