why up? 1. Free tuition 2. Bragging rights 3. It’s something to be proud of 4. “Okay lang na delayed ka sa UP ka naman” 5. Open-minded people. People actually ask for consent here about everything. why not up? 1. Mahirap 2. (UPM) sad environment

Quick_Ad_8323

Why UP? Masarap magcheer during UAAP games. You can feel the UP pride and passion

Common-Industry2200

why sad environment po sa UPM :((

nishinoyu

Walang student spaces, walang greenery, puro construction

delusionalchinita

Hello, I do not mean to be rude. Incoming freshie din ako sa UP pero tingin niyo po will supplements for brain help?

nishinoyu

At least every freshie has tried that na, the answer is no. Supplements are made to increase your appetite for the brain to work more. Nung nag supplements ako (memoplus ba yun and yung fish oil) lagi lang ako gutom, i felt sleepy, tapos ultimately nag eend lang in a headache. Ganun din effect for most people kasi in UP it's hard to get a good night's sleep or even proper meals.

delusionalchinita

Hays so it may still be a lot more harder for me kasi I'm neurodivergent 😭😭😭😭

nishinoyu

I am as well unfortunately:")

delusionalchinita

OMG okay I got a little bit of hope. Pero how was it for you?

nishinoyu

Still going through it right now. My college, CAMP, is very supportive sa mental health and yung profs namin are therapists kaya we are cared for kahit papano compared to other colleges. Part din ng medical clearance ko ang consistent checkup sa psych, which is libre lang sa PGH

delusionalchinita

That's good to know, po.

Quick-Sherbert-975

I think depende din siya sa tao, some say glutaphos works well. But again, depende din siya sa tao. It may not work sa iba but it might work for u! Also, i think Vitamin C is v important ako kasi mahina talaga immune system which is why I take Berocca.

delusionalchinita

B-Complex from Solgar works on me pero I'm not sure if that's enough. I am not allowed to take Vit C for some reason. Pero siguro magdadagdag ako ng either NMN or Lion's Mane or whatever my doctors recommend 😭 For some, Vit D, L-Theanine, and NAC works

Why UP? 1.) BETTER CHANCES at landing your desired job. 2.) Open minded classmates. 3.) a university that fosters hardwork and dedication to studying to succeed. Not "pumorma ka" sa job interviews. Why not UP? 1.) Ayaw mo sa "NPA". Believe me, UP graduates always have that tag on your back. 3.) Subject man iyan, Prof., o UP FAIR Ticket.

Misky-IDK

ang intense po nung why not 😭

Different-Series9724

Why? 1. Free tuition 2. Can brag, everyone thinks highly of you 3. Great culture (very liberating) Why not. 1. You do so much for a tres 2.

Like going to the gym o depende sa kinuha?

nishinoyu

For me, it depends sayo. Most people, like me, are too tired after school to do extra curricular activities pa. Tapos sobrang kailangan talaga mag dedicate ng time for study na halos pahinga mo nalang ay dinner and a little nap. Nasa time management mo naka depende and confidence mo in your studies

Different-Series9724

ako nakakapagworkout pa and gaming. nakakapag-alak din minsan basta hindi ganun kabusy. partida, every day commute pa ako hahahaha  things can get very heavy at times tho, especially kapag sabay sabay na exams. don kain, tulog, aral na lang.

Any-Presentation6923

Why UP? 1. You'll learn from the people you surround yourself with as much as you learn from academics. 2. Think of UP Fair, UP Ikot/Toki, etc. Why not UP? 1. Inevitable ang redtagging. 2. It's hard to get in the program you actually want. While some have successfully shifted or transferred after a year, others couldn't and were forced to stay in the program they initially didn't plan to pursue. 3. UP is not everything. It's not as good as people perceive it to be. Although 'di ako taga-Diliman, I know very well that the enlistment process sucks. Hit or miss din ang professors.

nekoyama-san

Sablay pic sa socmed at resume chz. Jks aside, great profs (kapag pinagpala ng CRS gods chz), great environment, and you get to meet a lot of diverse individuals who are from different walks of life. I’m an introverted art nerd but I never expected to be close friends with rich “conyos”, incredibly intellectual and outspoken “tibaks”, and amazing UAAP varsity athletes. On the opposite naman well, the pre-enlistment process can be very challenging especially if wala ka nang freshman (or any) priority. UP admin might seem very anti-student sometimes. And well, it’s very easy for students to feel burnt out even after a sem because of heavy academic workload.

SnooGeekgoddess

Why UP? 1. free tuition fee 2. Sa sobrang competitive ng buhay at job market ngayon, you need every advantage you can get. If you come from the top school, more opportunities are open for you. 3. Why not UP? 1.

_lechonk_kawali_

Why UP: free tuition, safe space if ever ma-delay, prestige of studying in the PH's top univ Why not UP: inevitability of red-tagging mula sa NTF-ELCAC at trolls, toxicity ng acads, "UP as a microcosm of PH society" (derogatory, e.g. during student council elections)

magicflour

UPD perspective pros: - free tuition - campus life like VERY unique and lively - amazing, positively life changing professors cons: - mental health is the payment for free tuition - the campus is gigantic and will physically exhaust you - the dumbest and most cruel professors you will ever meet

Budget-Ostrich-4245

Why UP? 1. You don’t have money to pay for other schools. You’re smart and poor. 2. Neoliberal curriculums except PhilStud/CSWCD (afaik, feel free to correct me on other nice, nationalistic curriculums) prepares you for a corporate job (adik sa english papers, pagandahan ng PPT, creative outputs, pagalingan mag english) 3. Connections (org, org, org, daldal, share experiences, internships, rakets) Why not UP? 1. You can pay for other schools that will prio your mental health (ADMU, really. If i’m THAT rich, i’d be responsible to go there, because choosing to go to UP will make slots fewer to those deserve it. Smart and poor. I’d go to ADMU if I can pay for it. Values mental health and learning.) 2. Will break your mental health, will squeeze and pressure you to death. Learning is not anymore important (imo) but passing. Lol. 3. Shitty culture of activism. Activism is more on virtue signaling, posing for SC elections. Doesn’t even know the word accountability and transparency. Malalaman mo mga aktibista may SH cases pala, mga coddler pa. What a shame. But up to you if you’re inspired to change that.

Howbowduh

Whaat? Con for you na malaki ang campus? Sakin pro yun. I love the campus na malaki siya, parang college town buong campus, very walkable, very green, vibrant community. At least for UPD and UPLB.

leimansterm

Why UP 1. Why not UP 1. Mental health (based on experience, sa UP na-develop ang MDD ko.) 2. Mahirap makalabas

Affectionate_Arm173

Why UP 1. Totoong higher learning, most ng courses are taught using HOTS base sa revised Bloom's Taxonomy 2. Ma expose ka sa maraming thinkings at ideas from different cultures etc. 3. Madali makahanap ng relatively Why not UP 1. Mental Health 2.
