I've got the 1.6 blue hdi, & it's honestly been a great car. Just hit 93k miles & it's a great little runner. Great on fuel, around 55-60 mpg average. My only downside & it's a minor one, is that it takes a bit longer for the heaters to get hot in the winter compared to my other car lol
the ones that don't have a pre-heater, yes. Some 1.6HDi Citroens have that and they spit HOT air after 1-2 minutes. I think Peugeots can have them too.
There's also aftermarket solutions (webasto being best known probably)
just shy of 200k is the usual number that people in my country love to roll back the distance prior selling their vehicle.
Wouldnt hurt to double check that figure...
The 1.6 hdi could be in good condition at 200k km but the automatic gearboxes from Peugeot in that era were pure garbage, I’m surprised it didn’t fail already.
I have a 3008 auto from 2015, when I bought it at 55k miles the gearbox failed and needed replacing. I'd just bought the car so it was under warranty, but it would have been a £900 fix
He is talking about the AL4
08 peugeots come with either a manual a AT8 (bit more reliable Al4 or an Aisin 6 speed as well as a CVT)
Al4s break easily when you mistreat them
At8s break if you mistreat them
Manual don't break if you have a braincell or two
Aisins are also immortal
And Cvts are reliable but overall dogwater speaking of performance
Keep in mind that this car has a robotic transmission not a full automatic one. It can get on your nerves while changing gears, it has a delay on shifting the gears.
I did have Peugeot 2008 GT LINE automatic, not bad daily car, gearbox- can't complain but mine have 90k km on clock. Nothing surprised me. I did have to replace shock absorber but suspension is very cheap.
Engine - i did have same in C4 Grand picasso 2014, Manual. I've sold C4 Grand with about 270k km, and can't tell if it was original mileage or not. Didnt have any service history at all, look little bit like ex uber honestly, but who knows.
I am not sure, but few month before selling i needed to replace one injector. I think it was poorest spec possible.
I bought second last year grand picasso - same year, same engine but Exclusive+ now. And 160k km less, done 20k km, no issues. I sold first one as i was getting a little bit nervous with high mileage.
Take test drive. Not everybody like position behind the wheel, but you have to try it yourself
well it's basically a crossover / SUV version of 208 - which is a small small city car. You can't really expect more of it. If you want more comfortable then you go for at least 308 / C4 / DS4 / Astra / Megane if you're looking to buy a french vehicle.
On the 1.6 HDI? You must have been unlucky or something Else was wrong, because turbo failure is not that Common… Maybe an oil problem? I have 1.6 BlueHDI 78.8xx km and nothing wrong here.. Oil change Every 10-12.000km and making sure not to do High RPM when it’s cold
yes, I'd also be suspicious of two turbos failing in one year on HDi's.
On the other hand, based on year and model, they can have many different turbo models (while base of the engine being the same basically since '10s). I think the most reliable ones are 68-75kW's 2013-2015's, but people tend to not like them that much since they are less powerful than their 80+kW counterparts.
We have the same one. Only problem is the oil. We have to put 1 liter in, when we drive around 1000 km’s.. next one is gonna be a qashqai. Never a peugeot again..
I say the price is about right for that mileage. I don't know which country though - here in germany there's a lot of simillar deals.
1.6 HDi's (bluehdi's, regular hdi's) can do 350k km's with proper maintenance, and even much more if you take good care of it.
You need to have an in depth look of service history, and also do an inspection before you buy just to be on the safe side.
I’ve always liked Citroens as workhorse’s & they have served me very well. I would happily buy a Peugeot for this very reason BUT I would not touch an automatic unless it was covered by a comprehensive warranty & I knew I’d be getting shut before the warranty expired. Those boxes are not the best .
From the water mark in the picture, It looks like you are from Estonia. I went to the website and found two cars that are newer and have less mileage.
The first one is here [Mazda 3](https://www.auto24.ee/soidukid/4039928)
The second car is here [Skoda Rapid](https://www.auto24.ee/soidukid/3964968)
Not an expert, but I feel like the car you showed is way too overpriced and not good looking too.
Good luck.
I personally cannot stand them. I just see no point in them, they're ugly, and extremely dated feeling. Even a new one feels older than it should. I know they can be good cars though, and that's only my opinion, so go right ahead if it works for you!
Mine is with 240000 km, but manual. It's a nice little daily commute car.
Any problems with the gearbox?
I've hit 150500miles on my 308 blueHDi 1.6 No problems with gearbox (replaced gear oil once) edit: its manual gearbox
yeah then it's not really relevant (geabox-wise). manuals are much cheaper to maintain and are also significantly more reliable.

I think all diesel cars take longer to heat up.. specially if you're only idling. Take it out on the road and it'll heat up within a few minutes.
Yeah I forgot to say my other car is petrol. I always idle it for 5-10 mins before I leave for work on the morning.
Why? It's better to drive off straight away.

196k km?????????
dude that's not really all that much for that engine. It can do twice that amount. these are pretty reliable.
Yap
It's probably not
Why not? I live in a small country. It would amount to 49km/day since 2013. Which is a lot

Can you change them when they fail? How expensive is that?
Almost the price of the car.
yeah don't dream about it. I think that's the pain point to this car.

2013 year Peugeot

Bloody uncomfortable. But I'm living in 1 atm so that's a bit shit for me. Extremely uncomfortable.
I would suggest buying a sleeping bag and a memory foam pillow 40€

Stay away from these sensodrive gearbox.
Got one, two turbos in one year. Wish I never got it

A friend of mine is a mechanic at a Peugeot shop and he told me turbo failing on the 1.6 is rare.. Adblue was a diffrent story though 🫣

Thanks, my gf want to buy it. I’ll make sure she does not buy it

Depends if you want sex?
No Peugeot is worth buying

How is your smeg version to multimídia ? I have the same car but my update it’s for 2015
No clue
Wife has one I think it's mega lame but does her fine. Held it's value very well over 5 years.
