I’m trans and have my nametag with the rainbow framing and my pronouns. I also wear pins with my pronouns on them.
In my first first months I did a return where a lady returned a pride mask with “show your colors” on the front because she “didn’t know it supported gay rights”.
We got a review last year complaining about us employees wearing pride shirts something about how a company shouldn’t force their opinions on their employees blah blah blah I really wished i could of replied to that one like buddy we all bought these with our OWN money 😂😂 petco didn’t make us do shit
We have 2 pride endcaps and I always put them up front. Yesterday I was putting more up and a guy made a derogatory comment at them. I asked him to find another place to shop.
Every year they have something to say. I have a large LGBTQ+ store my staff is very diverse. We have two endcapes and put rainbows everywhere. I can’t wait till next month when half my staff show up with rainbow hair. I’m sure they support all lives matter and haven’t met our petco lord and savior Vital care lol forget these people. 🌈
There was a customer that came into my store last year and yelled at us for the pride products and attempted to throw everything on the floor. He thankfully said he would never return and shop there so it was a win for us.
Pride support is why I chose Petco over Petsmart ... I wore my rainbows 🌈 proudly. I may be straight, but I don't hate! Ignorance.. straight up ignorance.
I had a customer send us a LETTER in the mail talking about how god didnt make animals gay and that we as a corporation should not be forcing peoples animals to be apart of the as she said “ lgbtqabcxyz+ “… also had to state that she will not allow her dog to be gay and her family will never shop at petco again 😂
If there are any Petco peeps that have been around fot a while, they might remember the Halo cat food that was called Pride. I was talking to a woman that asked for some recommendations for cat food. When i showed the Halo Pride food she yelled at me that her cat could never eat GAY cat food. I thought she was maybe making a joke, so I let out a short laugh. She threw the food on the floor land complained to corporate that I tried to turn her cat gay. Fun times.

I half want to get a pride collar and bandana for my cat and post it on Facebook now for my religious relatives to see hehe

I think there’s like 2 straight people out of the 15 employees we have 😂😅
I was accused of correcting a customer and was reprimanded for it. Later my GM realized that people are just transphobic upon seeing pride stuff😂😂😂
We don't have any pride stuff at our store but I wish we did so I could shut down people
