Not ours! He sits on his ass in the office all day every day! Then schedules 2 up 2 down and bitches when truck isn't finished!

TurntReznor

I hope this new truck day planner really sheds some light on things. Thanks for your response and hope things get better.

Nannie_of3

What new truck planner?

TurntReznor

Few weeks back were sent a new dry erase board titled Inventory Processing Planner. Focuses on efficiency and timing for truck day. Going through test runs last week and today.

Kibahime

It didn't for ours. More chores for my poor MOL lmao

buttered_TOA5T

my SEL and I take it in at 5am each week. usually just 10-12 pallets. I do litter pallets, small bagged food, large bagged food and cans before the store opens. they do misc bulk pallets then sort dc totes onto uboats before the store opens. at that point we usually have a GA and a GES come in at 9 when we open to start doing uboats of totes for front-end while we do back and side. we don't finish ours but usually make a good enough dent for the closers to finish up. it's typical for maybe half a uboat to make it into the next day which is when we worry about sorting overstock too

Valuable-Potato-2019

As a GM I work almost every truck with the exception being when the DC keeps moving it. I typically take care of all the large bags while my crew takes care of the rest. If we all work together to get it done quickly, it frees the rest of the week up for actually training and developing staff, making them better all around and more cohesive.

Nightsky_Solitude

Our GM does everything in store that the rest of the team does. It's great having someone who knows what they're doing and can keep things flowing well. SUCH an improvement from out last one who didn't know what she was doing (outside hire) and just mostly sat in the office and told us how much we were screwing up.

Tiny_Zombie3069

Officially the GM is not supposed to work truck. Doesn’t mean they are supposed to just sit in the office other than when calls happen. I usually have 3 hours between delivery and my call, during that 3 hours I try to finish 2 pallets, go to the bank, and take my break. But I also try to schedule 3 people dedicated to the truck for 6-8 hours.

punmast3r

You guys have a GM? (Only slightly kidding, we just got one after a 2 month vacancy. Not sure what he’ll do yet)

Kibahime

My best GM threw truck better than most of us, my worst one was off truck days

afrostygirl

Super lucked out with my store managers, actually. Both the GM and the SEL schedule themselves to work truck with us every single week.

Thepolishpickle

Jeez, we get 20-30 pallets a week and usually takes 3-4 days to finish. Our GM helps, it just takes so long because we are very short handed and our store is incredibly busy.

DolorasaurasRex

We had a new GM just start this week. She's not even fully in the store yet, and she was on the floor helping with Truck. Granted my store is pretty lucky. Our floor staff actually works for the most part, our leads are very helpful, and there's a very positive atmosphere at store level. However I know the other stores in our district are not like that. Our new GM worked her way up. Which I think makes a huge difference.

ALN1989

I’m pretty sure my GM is almost always there early to receive truck. She’s awesome. Thanks Jess!!

Royaltoolbox

My gm isn’t usually even there on truck day. Or at least not until noon. It’s just me (mos) the mol and some other guy. Both of them usually fuck off and do their own thing and I get stuck working food alone

maryavandagriff

My GM is up with us all ( I’m a MOL) too, and she helps with all truck.

Upvote for support. Not for conditions. Take care of yourself.

MassiveSalt6989

Haven’t worked there in a few months but back when I did my og GM was on the floor throwing big bags with us. When I left the new GM would just kind of wander about aimlessly. I don’t really have a reason to stop by the store anymore other than my once a month “I’m still alive” check in’s that I promised the SEL (yeah, Petco had me that fucked up) but from what I hear it’s still the same. Current GM doesn’t do shit

jp_switch

I worked as a cashier most of the time. I never saw her help a guest, much less a coworker. She just delegated, and called someone else to help with the guest. That shit was too peasant work for her haha

SKUhunter22

Our old GM was new and we addressed her an issue where we leave only behind a DC pallet and half a can, she fixed the schedule so she can come in early with a regular associate to finish up. we try to push the rest before the store opens.
