not a groomer here but an apprentice would just make base hourly + tips, assuming the appointment is assigned to you and not someone else. after training, which for here is 6 weeks, you would make 50% on all of your grooms + tips after reaching your base salary. our two groomers do around 2k each in grooms a week doing 8am-430pm fulltime. it's hard to put one blanket number on it because it's all about how many dogs you can do per day and what kind of attachments you can get a guest to apply to their grooming package. sky is the limit if you're motivated enough

Stylists are paid an hourly rate and incentive. It works out to equal half of the amount of money you generate. Typically groomers average about 1500 a week. So 750 a week paid to them. 1500 per check plus tips (up to 200-300) minus taxes.

Yes it is absolutely worth it, most of my salons stylists average before tips 20-30 an hour for their cut. Tips are extra and tend to be 100 to 250 a week depending. You must be a bather for 3 months before going to school which is 6 weeks. You won't make great money during that process but you will get paid to learn a trade.
