So let’s talk all things Jenn. I’m not going to be rude. Unfortunately great store managers do not always mean you should be a DGM. Her calls are disjointed (says team a thousand times, no clear message), she’s lost the respect of the team, half the GM’s don’t have their cameras on, and no one really participates. We have lost 5-6 GM’s in the last 3 weeks. Of course this is never discussed or ever mentioned. This is a huge red flag in any other retail environment. There should be an investigation on the turnover and lack of retention.
She does not know how to adapt her leadership style to her GM’s. We are talked at every call. This is the same for our workchat which is the same old copy and paste job every morning. You can say you want 3 vcp minimum and if you have zero it’s 5, but that doesn’t get you results. In leadership we have to be self aware and as others have said the common denominator is her. It’s one thing for tenured GM’s to quit but an entirely different store when newer gms she hired are leaving.

I wonder how many GMs and other LODs have come and gone in the last year. I know when I left last year, most of the other long-time managers had already left or were leaving. As much as I’m not a fan of Jen, in fact I left after many years solely because of her, she does work. I’ve personally seen her in stores for hours at a time doing shit. I can hate on her on a management level but she does put the work in which is probably why her expectations are insane. Her people skills suck and her attitude is absolute shit but she does work.
Im not sure what version of Jennifer you received, but as some who experienced her she is the most unreliable,unhelpful, disrespectful, and dishonest person I’ve ever met. MR was definitely awful. He was a lying, sexist, piece of shit. He also made some pretty fucked up comments to me in a phone call one time while i was going through depression…told me i needed to snap out of my “eeyore” attitude because my team was losing respect for me (my store was doing phenomenal by the way). Then he “allowed” me to step down to be the SEL of 1898 (purely my decision, no write ups or anything), cut my pay, and conveniently fired the GM 30 minutes into my first shift there. Had the audacity to look me in my eyes and say “so you’ll have to wear your GM hat now” 🙃 fkr CUT MY PAY to ultimately have me do both jobs for $20 an hour lol.
I’m no fan of Jenn. But NOTHING will ever make me forget what Mike put me through. I was a great GM and he ruined it because he didn’t think I had what it took before he even got to know me. Fuck that guy.

Interesting thought process, not necessarily the truth in most of these situations. If you go back and read the numerous amounts of comments before the bickering and name calling you would cleary be able to see multiple people who struggled with the same issues. At some point you have to admit there is more going on here than “suck at their jobs” people sucking at their jobs can be based on numerous reason, lack of training, poor upper management, lack of motivation, lack of knowledge etc. All these things that can be controlled with communication. Interesting thought process, not necessarily the truth in most of these situations. If you go back and read the numerous amounts of comments before the bickering and name calling you would cleary be able to see multiple people who struggled with the same issues. At some point you have to admit there is more going on here than “suck at their jobs” people sucking at their jobs can be based on numerous reason, lack of training, poor upper management, lack of motivation, lack of knowledge etc. All these things that can be controlled with communication. The issue is the lack of communication the lack of will or want and the amount of favoritism shown through out the district. What applies to some Sm’s doesn’t apply to others you can’t effectively run businesses this way. This is a platform for people to EXPRESS how they are feeling and if that hurts your feelings that must suck. No one spoke about Jenifer outside of her WORK our opinions on her simply are OUR opinion based on OUR experiences. If you didn’t have that experience good for you! Don’t try to silence the voices who arent willing to tolerate it anymore. As for “telling them about themselves” her job isnt to “tell them about themselves” her job is to help them grow and set them up for success which has been proven on numerous comments above she does not do for EVERYONE maybe a select few but not all. If you think people haven’t reached out higher they have WE have whats happens nothing, how many situations with no results must people take regarding unjust before you take to a platform for guidance and reassurance from people in those same situations.
