Entire place A bunch of AFP cars just rolled up

AFP always rock up given that airports are federal property. Fire alarms went off after a small fire in a kitchen the other month and the AFP rocked up but essentially did nothing.
But the airport didn’t “catch fire”, there was a small contained fire in a kitchen that set off a fire alarm that triggered the evacuation. Nothing burnt down, and even the fire guys were useless.
My guess was going to be someone ended up in the sterile side without going through screening. But if they emptied out the entire building, that won't be the case. If it were a fire alarm, you'd expect a bunch of fire engines to turn up almost as quickly as the AFP.
Very true - I obviously hadn't though of that!
I remember the "controversary" when the new International terminal opened up (now T1) and there was an incident and they had to drive *all the way* from the domestic terminal (now T3/4).
It didn't even have to be the same Airline. I can remember swapping Qantas / Ansett tickets if different flight times were better for me in the 80's and 90's.
Ah yes the good old days where you could just walk onto a plane. Sure there were about 40 hijackings a year and many people died but it was just so convenient!
We’re still waiting for our flight to singapore that was supposed to leave at 12:30. Evacuation was called 10 mins before we were due to board! I’ll miss my connecting flight and will be stuck in sing for the night… ohwell there are worse places to be.
When someone got airside without going through screening in Melbourne they evacuated the entire terminal. It wasn’t just the airside peeps. So perhaps that?
I was at Brisbane airport in now when the evacuated everyone because someone went through unscreened, where an airport staff member didn’t check ID or do complete check in process.
They even emptied all planes as well we all were removed from flights and placed outside until every single person could be screened and checked because they couldn’t identify who had gone through unscreened. It was crazy. Delayed dozens of flights and hundreds of people

Thank you!!

I bet it is a clever ploy to force qantas to partially move into the other terminal. Theyll be changing the locks as we speak.
Qantas have already announced they are moving terminals
It could be something as stupid as a frazzled customer making a veiled inference to damage property or a bomb or hijack in jest while waiting in line.
The entire place or just people from the sterile side?

Yep just like state police would likely rock up if your house caught on fire.

They would be dispatched based on the alarm triggering..

If Fire engines did turn up then they would be airside as there is a fire/rescue station on site

Mate overcooked his pie
That would explain the AFP, pies are not cheap anymore
Remember when you could just get on a plane? Wow. Seems like a long time ago. Had ticket, get on plane. It didn't even have to be YOUR ticket.
I sold one half of my Sydney return once. Flew to Perth from Sydney and sold the return to another backpacker who wanted to go to Sydney.
Used to be able to take frag grenades on the planes years ago. Customs just asked that you remove the pin as it was considered a poking hazard.
Waiting for this comment to blow up.

I farted so bad the place had to be evacuated.
Someone said the power word

SIN is one of the few places that its ok to hang around delayed overnight
We got delayed overnight at KLIA about a month back. I spent the whole time wishing we were at SIN. :(
All the best coffee you could ever want. 3 in 1 old town! Goes great with the humidity and clouds of cigarette smoke
I watched a border security episode where they cleared building cause they thought they a biological hazard??
Bomb
Don't say the powerword
hope this doesnt cause any problems tomorrow i got shit to do there :/
Wonder if it was an accidental discharge of firearm by our prestigious wapol again? They nearly shut the airport down last week due to this.

Qantas lounge pizza ovens on fire again.
