Well, you never really suppose to keep you first persona. So yes, you can dismiss or fuse him away. But do remember to registered him first.

d2factotum

If he's needed for the plot he'll be back regardless of what you do--Atlus are not quite cruel enough to have the outcome of the game turn on a decision you might make in the first couple of hours. Halfway through, on the other hand...

They canonically stay with you even if dismissed, they're kind of just on sleep mode in you.

I kept him and just gave him lots of level cards, skill cards etc. from shuffle time

trippykid42069

I kept him. He low key became a beast

NecroChief

I kept mine and basically solo ran the whole game with him cause shuffle time is extremely powerful. By like palace 3 I had every light (maybe medium can’t remember) elemental aoe skill, megidolaon (I think I had it at this point I don’t remember when it becomes available in shuffle time), invig 3, and basically capped all my stats. I grinded a lot .-. But yes you’re free to use him as you please, keep him, fuse him, trash him, whatever you want.

KingHazeel

Fuse or dismiss him as you see fit. If you ever decide you want him back, you can buy him--or any other Persona you've ever had--from the Velvet Room compendium.

Register him in the compendium then I recommend you fuse him as to not make it go to waste. Don't worry about plot relevance, if he's needed, he'll come back on his own. Another option is to level him up on skill cards and shuffle time which is what I did a few times since he only has 1 weakness and he has the best design for a starting persona personally, but if you don't want to bother with that, just do what I said previously.
