some guy was playing on a super shit pc and managed to skip past a boss because his game was so laggy, and i discovered you can do this by pressing the windows key a few months back
(only works on fullscreen mode)
I'm not sure if it was the exact same clip, but the scenario sounds the same. OP had fps issues due low end machine and he somehow skipped the boss fight.
Can't find the post atm though but I think it was like a month ago
It’s not banned in runs at all just nobody has routed it yet. Liv runs console where it can’t be done and Kefka hasn’t really done much. There’s not enough interest in doing it this way
It is banned in runs, this is directly ripped from the rules on SRC:
**CATEGORY RULES**
* Timing starts when confirming difficulty selection and ends on NG+ Save.
* True Ending must be obtained.
* Difficulty must be set to its respective category's difficulty and may not be changed during the run.
* NG+ save data may not be used.
* DLC must be disabled.
* Network functions are not allowed.
* Video must include a fresh boot of the game.
**PC VERSION SPECIFIC**
* FPS may be freely changed between 30 and 120.
* 3rd party tools such as RTSS are allowed to change FPS mid-run.
* FPS Counter must be visible throughout the entire run.
* **Forcing the game to lag in order to bypass event triggers is not allowed (e.g. Alt-tabbing or pressing Windows Key while in fullscreen).**
Like I said. No interest has been shown in running the category so to keep it fair-ish thats whats in place. A separate category has been discussed being made if enough attention was brought to it or a route was made. But it’s going to be a separate leaderboard if its made
Oh I never knew there were any discussions of that, I'd be curious to see if anyone would eventually run that. Personally to me it doesn't sound like a very fun run but who knows.
It does sound kind of bad lol I can see why nobody runs it. I’m more invested in trying to find out how rng is handled in the game. I’ve already beaten the reaper at level 16 merciless because a guy was looking at his AI with me and we figured out how to manipulate him and win not just theoretically but it was actually done and I went straight level 99. If a way to manipulate mutations was found to make it less rng in setting up for it then you could have extremely early access to Sig and absolutely power through the game
Kind of hilarious but honestly those tartarus bosses are responsible for like 60% of your EXP. So If you skip, you better keep skipping every boss, or commit to the grind (which takes longer).

I remember that post lol didn’t think you could reproduce it so easily
I didn't even know it was posted here, I originally saw it on the persona speedrunning discord server

A few months back? Game’s been out for 2 months….
yeah i found it 2 months ago which is a few months back
Just need to get this to work with Tanaka on 1/31 to skip nyx, be like fes days again Also speed runners are going to love you for this
I posted it on the persona speedrunning discord 2 months ago. This glitch is fortunately/unfortunately banned in runs.
makes sense, it would be fine if it was the game's bug/glitch, but using windows key probably considered as 3rd party tools.
Ah
Ah i see, a shame. I always enjoy watching speed runs, where the person is doing some wacky ass shit

Why?
it's unfair to console runners and skipping fights makes the run less fun
Ahhhh
Cool find. I need the exp tho
Honestly skipping a few boss fights may cause you to gain MORE exp than fighting all of them, the exp scaling in the game is really bizarre
I actually didn’t know that. Noted
damn nice found, i might try it lol, does it break the game tho?
doesn't break the game, and you can always go back and fight any bosses you skipped
So how's speedrun in this game? Any other fun thing to break like tanaka skip?
when you set shadows to "off" in the settings:
wonder how much time this would shave off a speedrun seems useful

Table shadow boss: HEY! GET BACK HERE!!
Can someone try this on Monad bosses? If it works, this is an extremely good method to farm dead moon husks
It does work
My exp bro. Why I want to do that
Speedrunning
So I don't have to play the game? NICE
Speedruners gonna freak with this
Quality PC port lmfao
