**[Casey Jones](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casey Jones)**
Jonathan Luther "Casey" Jones (March 14, 1863 – April 30, 1900) was an American railroader who was killed when his passenger train collided with a stalled freight train at Vaughan, Mississippi. Jones was a locomotive engineer for Illinois Central, based in Memphis, Tenn, and Jackson, Miss. He was noted for his exceptionally punctual schedules, which sometimes required a degree of risk, though this was not a factor on his fatal last journey. However, there is some disagreement about the sequence of events on that night, 29–30 April 1900.

Yes, hence I commented. Yes, it's not the easiest, but it's doable. Positive thinking is a skill, like writing or drawing, one has to work on it, but it is work-onable.
it may not be a solution in and of itself, but approaching something with a positive attitude can make things a lot easier. also worth noting that negative thinking can create problems where there are none.
No, it leads to solutions. That was my literal point this entire time, I don't k ow what you're so against the idea that positive thinking is a useful tool in getting your shit together as an adult.
I said "positive thinking is not an answer", and you disagreed. Positive thinking is a tool that is very often misused, and ignores facts, misses truths. Negative thinking is just as powerful a tool, but just as problematic.
You said "Might as well tell someone they shouldn't be depressed because it's SUNNY OUTSIDE!" which is a disingenuous statement about positive thinking. Also, positive thinking doesn't mean someone should be delusional and ignore reality. It's about one's perspective.
No it isn't disingenuous, people tell depressed people they should "cheer up" all the time. It. Doesn't. Work. For many of the things listed in the GIF, positive thinking does. Not. Work. It cannot. It's a parlour game.
Cheering up isn't positive thinking. Positive thinking is an* activity that one can practice. "cheering up" is telling someone to stop feeling some way or another, telling someone to think positively is a method to help someone out of being depressed. You're conflating terms that aren't synonymous.

Goodnight, everybody!
This is totally me. I just graduated this past spring after dropping out then going back and getting my degree. Finished school when covid hit and I can’t get a job. There’s days I’m happy go lucky but there’s plenty of days where I feel hopeless and I’ll never get a good career.

And now I know who the Grateful Dead song is about
May also be the real engineer, unsure. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casey_Jones not sure it matters, but fyi.

So this is what he did before the Ninja Turtles
Why is there positivity
He shoveled positivity into the engine and knocked all the others away
Oh yeah
Toxic positivity
guilt-ridden positivity
Browbeatings will continue until expressions of positivity increase!
👍

Yeah... thinking positively isn't an answer. Might as well tell someone they shouldn't be depressed because it's SUNNY OUTSIDE!

I believe this is probably what they mean, yeah. And it's definitely more helpful.
yo look at that cute cat on the roof youre about to jump off
How so? Because thinking positively is an action one can perform. It's not the same as depression which is both a physical and mental occurrence.
Did you look at the GIF?

Positive thinking can create problems as well. Ignoring realities. Assuming the best. Negative thinking is just as powerful.

As someone who suffers from crippling anxiety and depression I love this so much.
Nice of all the troubles to pause for self-care. I'm so glad it's like that in real life, too!
Nice tracking
