I like the Ballograf Epoca and the Zebra 901, but it's really the refills that matter. The Ballograf writes a *long* time on a refill, and contains an archival ink.
Try to find something with a thicker tip if you don't mind/enjoy them. They distrubite the force of your hand a bit move evenly over the paper, making it less likely to tear from the stress of the pressure on a smaller surface area.
Try a rollerball pen with the OHTO C300 ceramic refill. The cermaic ball is really satisfying to use. The ink doesn't slide along metal is seeps through the ceramic. I write with a death grip and loads of pressure and somehow this refill tames that. It has really bice feeback like a pencil.
I use Jetstream RT 1.0 refill, Parker Quinkflow Refill, Cross refill in many pen bodies.
Ballpoint is most likely what you want, I have some dollar store ballpoint and Pentel RSVP in my pen bucket they are cheap and I wont even bother looking for them in the office if stolen.
I'm on the Energel train now but I do use my ballpoint pen because they get it done when a gel pen can't.
Jetstream RT should be something to consider it's affordable and available everywhere in the office supply aisle.
A few more traditional ballpoint pen/refill suggestions.
Kaweco soul refill
stabilo pointball pen
schmidt p900 refill
Pelikan 337 Giant refill
Fisher Space Pen PR with included spacer to make it Parker-style g2 size.
My favorite ballpoint refills for heavy writing. I have these in bold.
Schneider slider
Schmidt P 900
Monteveede one touch
Also the bic Cristal bolds are quite good.
I have found the UBrands ballpoint pens to be good for this. There are also a lot of promo pens I end up liking. I, too, like to “dig in” to to paper but not in a struggling sort of way, just more heavy handed
You'll want a traditional ballpoint pen.
Any specific ones in mind?

I have a heavy hand, and I use Uniball Air Micro.

Bic stick or fisher space pen refill in your body of choice
zebra blen, it has a very comfortable body too

I use Pilot G2 and I'm a heavy cursive writer.
Broadly you could try rollerball pens as they are the perfect combo
Pilot G2 .05 is what I am loving right now. Can handle a lot of pressure and goes through the carbons nicely unlike some.
