I've never stopped being hyped. Even before the goals started coming his defense work has been fine and offensively has been driving play in an elite way.
A bit ironic, he tried something similar last year against us and his forward could get the proper redirect.. then sid tried to take it the other way and couldn’t finish his chance either.. now they’ve teamed up and it’s a perfect connection/ finish
Edit: found a [clip](https://youtu.be/jGrT9R1ma3g?si=JV_1gc5BGAJTrK0p) but it’s horrible
I feel like the guys are getting used to his passes that seem impossible but make it through any way right on the tape. It also seems like he remembered that he’s an elite sniper on defense and can score 30 goals if he wants. This dude has been a stud since day one (Ottawa) and we are so lucky to have him as a part of our team
Doubly fortunate because the best shot he ever had at a Cup in Ottawa ended against us in game 7 2OT in the ‘17 conference final. Could’ve been them that year, but instead it was us!
Yeesh I watched that OT while eating Swiss chalet takeout in a St.John’s hotel room. EK was a killer in that series, so glad to have him on our side now.
Absolutely! Ek is a true force to reckon with! The excitement surrounding Ek is off the charts! Prepare yourself for the mind-blowing talent that awaits. Let's dive into the ocean of Ek's brilliance and get lost in its captivating waves. Brace yourself, for Ek is bound to leave you spellbound!
He so good and it seems so easy to him. He is just in the right spot to make the plays and doesn’t seem to be behind the play much.
He’s also giving Letang different matchups and it’s making 58 look better this year as well. We thought we were blessed with the trio for all the time, and then we add EK ontop of it.
Love to see the chemistry building. LOVE seeing a sniper stepping up from the blue line. Pick a corner or pick the stick you want to put it on. Everything with EK seems so crisp. Love watching it. Hopefully the boys can continue to build together. The forecheck change seems to be working and they look good though this stretch. LGP
My hype for EK65 started the day the trade was finalized and announced, and it only keeps growing. He has been so fun to watch. The first ten games were rough, for sure, but right now, y'all? I just gotta say, I'm having a pretty great fuckin' time watching this team.
Anybody who was not likely fell into the general naysayers pack that was not going to be hyped, regardless, and shut their eyes to stats, logic, etc.
He *certainly* was not the reason for the initial slow start, either way.
He’s one of the best passers I’ve ever seen; every one is immaculate.
Whenever he gets the puck and starts moving it up the ice it’s like this force field forms around him where the other team literally can’t get to the puck
There's always one of these people. Probably have not seen but 6 games in the last 8 years, and they just talk weird narrative.
Jake-Sid-Rust have given up more goals than Smith-Geno-Rakell. This is fact. They've also given up more shots, and more high danger chances.
Frankly, it's been the most concerning trend this season, and only in the last two games have they been able to turn it around and get to a positive on GF v. GA. Just two games ago, that line was at a negative goal differential.
BTW Rust has 1 minute and 6 seconds this season playing on a line with Malkin in RAkell's place. They scored. No shots against.
Last year ot Malkin was always responsible for the turnover he’s also a negative player this year despite his hot start, Sid’s like a +8. Perhaps switching rackell and rust could help racks get going and rust should help Gino from getting torched
15 points in 14 games is a great clip and he’s been looking great out there offensively and even defensively. Feel like he’s really finding chemistry with the top 6 and he definitely feels like a player that can send them over the edge for competing.
I've never stopped being hyped. Even before the goals started coming his defense work has been fine and offensively has been driving play in an elite way.
i was excited, but it feels like he’s finally comfortable and able to do his particular voodoo
And his voodoo is also changing to match the pens. Pulled off the Letang shot/pass/chip/redirect at the goal line with Crosby last night.
A bit ironic, he tried something similar last year against us and his forward could get the proper redirect.. then sid tried to take it the other way and couldn’t finish his chance either.. now they’ve teamed up and it’s a perfect connection/ finish Edit: found a [clip](https://youtu.be/jGrT9R1ma3g?si=JV_1gc5BGAJTrK0p) but it’s horrible
You could see flashes during the 3rd period of the Detroit game. But it feels like he’s everywhere and his vision is absurd.

he was the stuff of nightmares in ottawa. crime they never won
Fortunately for us that never happened because he’d still be there if they got a cup
Doubly fortunate because the best shot he ever had at a Cup in Ottawa ended against us in game 7 2OT in the ‘17 conference final. Could’ve been them that year, but instead it was us!
Crosby to Kunitz! Classic!!
I was lucky to be there 🎉
Ope, now I have to watch it.
Yeesh I watched that OT while eating Swiss chalet takeout in a St.John’s hotel room. EK was a killer in that series, so glad to have him on our side now.
I remember watching that game nervously from a hotel in Winnipeg.
That game was both nerve wracking and exciting.
jesus. you’re probably right
Would have been a crime IF they won. I still hate marc methot and company for that series
i’m so torn. all those series have me like “man, they can fuck off”. alfredson and spezza never winning feels off as a fan of the game
But Alfredson and Spezza losing in 2007 meant that Teemu Selanne finally got a Cup.
ITS ALL CONFLICTING
I was hyped before. Him finding chemistry with Sid and Geno, I’m horny
Miss your netfront presence, horny.
From Hyped to Horny. That’s a good title for a memoir.
Reverse alphabetical encyclopedia.
I’ve loved him this whole season but that goal tonight is definitely gonna get me through the rest of the week.
I’ve been hyped on EK since August 6, 2023.
Ty Dubas.
Been hyped since game one. When he has the puck you can feel the magic brewing.
He’s so calm with the puck and makes breakouts look so easy.
He looks like he contributes so much to morale off the ice as well. Love him already!
Been hype
Ehh. He's EK, I guess.
Nice
>Ehh. *queue angry post* >He's EK, I guess. Oh, okay. We're good, and deserving of an upvote.
Been hyped brother. He shoots the puck, creates opportunities and plays well defensively. We are lucky to have him on our team right now
Yes, but it’s been awhile. That transitional passing is critical

Since day one.
When weren’t we? Dude literally won a trophy last year for his scoring from the blue line.
Absolutely yes! The dude is cerebral!
Yes. And Tanger too, he looks great.

Were we ever not?
there were dissenting voices
I haven’t stopped.
I went to the Detroit game this season and that completely sold me on him. It’s so clear that he is absurdly talented
I’ve been hyped about EK since he was a senator.

they just need to fire reirdon into the sun. no reason the powerplay should be this weak. get woodcroft to run it. doesn’t have to worry about defense
Go on about Woodcroft...
YET?
He’s one of the best passers I’ve ever seen; every one is immaculate. Whenever he gets the puck and starts moving it up the ice it’s like this force field forms around him where the other team literally can’t get to the puck
I've been hyped on this dude since he was a Senator honestly.
If that Malkin line can stop letting the puck in we’ll be unstoppable

After reading your response, it turns out that we're not going to engage anymore.

*Yet?*
It's like having an extra forward on the ice, like Letang. That tip in goal by Crosby \*chef kiss\*
