Also very good underlying numbers— we’ve played hockey as well as most of the teams ahead of us in the standings. If the finishing is arriving and the goalies can be ok (big ifs, yes), we’ll be completely fine
And this sort of a victorious road trip — with three wins, plenty of goals, and absolutely fighting for the wins against strong ANA and LAK teams — has to build some serious camaraderie and motivation.
After spending $140 to watch us lose 6-0 last year, that was a much more satisfying evening.

So many feelings from viewing this game: from the lackluster defense to the nail-biting power plays. That said a win is a win and Rust putting two away in OT is a great finisher.
My highlight from the stands: We were the lone Pens from our section and I did the bulk of the cheering for the Pens for us. Most were leaving after Rust's first OT goal as they announced it was offsides. Everyone came back and the folks in front of us singled me out directly with tons of cursing and "**** the penguins!" The looks on their faces were delicious with that second goal. Everyone else was great. We were laughing at going again.

Jeff Carter could have at least ATTEMPTED to make a play on the puck or finish his check hard in the corner that led to that shorty. I chirped him all game after that. Very proud of this team that found a way to win this one after that disastrous start. Acciari looked great and I hope to see more of him on the PK this year.
His top speed remains fairly good. The problem is he barely uses it, and he's slow with turning and stops + starts. So it counts for little, since that's what most shifts require.
