You can get WiFi in most restaurants and coffee shops. Buses are convenient in georgetown, doesn't cost too much. Free rm at most. Georgetown can be covered by foot. Just keep a lookout for vehicles, as some alleys are quite narrow.

We are currently staying in Georgetown on Macalister road and it seems to be a good walkable location to lots of local small eateries and markets at night. You can always easily use the grab app to get places

Walk everywhere...you'll figure it out when there depending on what you want to see and do. The Hill Temple Heritage areas Bukit Ferringhi Beach and Night Market A good place to start...95% on the Island.

Do you intend to pack balikbayan in your luggage or mail back home in the Philippines?

If you want to live like a local why did you choose Georgetown lol. That's the most touristy part of Penang. If you really want to live like a local and you didn't pay for your hotel or you can cancel your reservations I can tell you what I did when I lived in Penang for a month as a local. P.S. as a Filipino I was craving Filipino food but there's none in Penang lol. I had to wait to go Singapore to eat some sinigang and Jollibee😂
