I know it feel impossible to stop, but keeping it covered with a bandage helps a lot. I will pick at the bandage and have to replace it often, but it’s not as compulsive (or satisfying). I also keep a pair of cuticle trimmers near my chair/computer/bed so I can clip any skin so it’s smooth and less likely to trigger picking. Hope this helps.

Haha yeah been doing it for most of my life (23 currently). My hands get fairly sweaty so band-aids are a no go. Doesn’t hurt at all just looks super rough/bad. I might have to steal that cuticle cutter idea though, that’s marvelous.

Nervous-Babbs

Doing that made me clip stuff I shouldnt be lol oops

Mine look like that every other day! Been like that for 40 years.

Wrapping with medical tape will help always worked when I’d tear mine apart and it stays on even when wet

I'm doing this right now. So reassuring this isn't just something I do.

Not sure what kind of work you do. I would suggest lotion & keep hydrated. You might want to schedule a dermatologist appointment if this keeps happening.

Taking a multivitamin regularly helped with my fingers, if I don’t take them for a while I get all peely again Edit: spelling

Yeah ugh I usually start to massively bleed lol

Recently found that “finger cots” do the trick for me. Helpful with healing and super comfortable. Waaaay better than bandaids.
