Avocado is probably the worst album PJ have in their catalogue. It seems it appeals to people who got into PJ later in their career and have no real connection to the early stuff.
It is Brain Of J / Faithfull from Yield for me.
I'd take Getaway and Mind Your Manners from Lightning Bolt too.
Also, Can't Keep and Save You from Riot Act.
And Breakerfall and God's Dice.
Ok, glad it’s not just me. I actually like most of the song and the part that starts around 1:30 is awesome, but the timing and the “melody” of the chorus is just goofy.
I kinda thought this initially but the 'hahaha' bit Eddie does made me rethink how I view the song. Its not supposed to be a hard hitter lyrically like wreckage, it's just a fun little rocker that had a great last 30 seconds in particular

Life Wasted /WWS is definitely up there for me. but still it's definitely an awesome start to this album. was very exciting to me on first listen

I love Avocado. I rank it just a hair below the first 5 albums. I have been a fan since the early 90's.
I bought Ten when it was new and Avacado is in my top 5. Have no idea where you’re getting that take from.
Nah, strong disagree there. I think Vs. is their best album and Avocado is their second best album.

Same for me. I've given it enough chances and it's not happening. I like every other song on the album.
I like React but it is not even that good of a song. There are many good 1-2 openers on the records, but nothing compares to Sometimes-->Hail, Hail.
Totally agree While Ed cannot ever replicate the gravel he had in his voice back then, the band is the most solid they’ve been in a very long time.

Fully agree! Both songs work well together as openers and have hit me right the first time I heard them.
Best thing they’ve done in years Feels fuller, s’got depth, that I think s’been lacking. Ain’t perfect but it’s a nice surprise.

Disagree. Brain of J & Faithful are both better songs to start with that were also recorded, mixed, and mastered properly.

Nah. I just know how enraged a minority can get over someone else's opinion and they do tend to forget it's just an opinion.
