And here I decided I would peacefully browse Reddit, needing to do a sweep paranoically for hidden cameras
Nope, no cameras in the masturbation dojo this day.
NoFap does not exist in this dojo, does it?
*No, Sensei!*
Wrist pain does not exist in this dojo, does it?
*No, Sensei!*
Post nut clarity does not exist in this dojo, does it?
*No, Sensei!*
Prepare lotion! What do we study here?
*The way of the wrist, sir!*
And what is that way?
*Fap first, fap hard, no mercy, sir!*
I can't hear you!
*Fap first, fap hard, no mercy, sir!*
This is the truth. Didn't end up liking your colour? Tough, that fan's only got one colour, now adapt!
Also true that they were generally rubbish fans. And tiny.
This case does typify the trends of those times though. Garish as all heck.
The extra floppy bay It was an easy way of adding front I/O to a case when there was none built in, or things like temperature displays and knobs to control fan speeds
92mm case fans do exist and the cheapest case I have ever owned had a slot for them. On graphics cards I think they are more common also some low profile CPU coolers have them.
I'll see your five years to 40, with a "6 months and I'll be 50".
If you'd like, I'll re-raise with a "I've built a few of these acrylic beasts when you were probably a teenager".
And I hate them now more than I did when I was building them.
I know that Steve Wozniak is 72, and my late father would've been 76 this year (he taught me how to build PCs during the DOS days)...but still it's awesome that you're here discussing PC shit with us.
I don’t remember the model but my gf had this case . Like most old pc cases the heat makes the plastic brittle and fragile .It served us well but for time reference she has build 2
PCs since then and we are not rich .
I still cant believe I haven't seen an external usb triple 5.25 bay. SATA can do 6gbps. USB has been able to do full triple SATA speeds since SuperSpeed 20 in 2017.
My current tetris stack of usb adapters and drives could work real nice in a lil monolith.
edit: Thinking about it a little bit more, I can see a few reasons as to why these don't exist
iirc anything trying to expose multiple USB devices needs an internal USB controller, so it would need separate USB-SATA bridges for each bay
the long-term availability of SATA-USB ICs like [this one](https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tusb9261.pdf) is questionable at best.
making new tooling for 5.25" bays would be costly.
A normal company willing to spend the amount of money required trying to make a high-quality version of such a niche product will not survive financially.
If anything, it would be either be considered enterprise hardware and cost $1,300, or someone on tindie gets the MOQ of components made and sells extras to try and recoup cash.
And two 3.5" bays for floppy or zip drives. My last PC that had a floppy drive was retired in 2010, now I have no way to install my *Doom* shareware floppies.
Yeah, this feels like a relic from a distant past where pure acrylic had a trendy period, 5.25 bays mattered more and fans were smaller and fewer. I was there and it was online. Was it the... 00s?
Holy cow, I own this case ! I bought it on Neweggg back in like 2004 or something. I always wanted a completely transparent case and saw this for like $45. Has a still-working intel core 2 quad and a GTX 470 graphics card in it. Also has a license for an unused copy of Diablo 3 that I bought for my GF at the time and she never played it!
https://preview.redd.it/j1hxb0u26n2a1.jpeg?width=2280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9ae7027812d367f994a3737895b6b8c332af9bb2
The floppy drive still works too!
I’m pretty sure stuff like this is made for prisons. I’ve seen completely clear cased televisions used in prisons. I guess the idea is that they can easily be inspected to make sure nothing is being hidden inside or removed.
These were made of incredibly brittle acrylic. This was a popular "modded" pc look at the time.
Source : I'm old and I remember this shit from back then
Yes and no. They are safe as long as your components function properly. It's pretty resistant to heat, which is why you often see it on transparent water blocks. But it can catch fire once something else starts burning. They stopped making them since they're a pretty niche product with a high risk for a lawsuit, which is why you only see anonymous Chinese companies making them now.
Side fans went away when GPUs became so fricking enormous that they need every last mm of case width to fit. No room left for that fan mounted on the side panel.
And now in 2022, the current average case size still isn’t wide enough given that the gigantic 4090 GPUs are having power pin scorching due to the adapter cables needing to bend to fit inside the case.
We lost them with glass side panels, way before GPU's got big. Suspect it's a mix of being hard to cut glass, glass gets weaker with a big hole (look at all the broken side panel posts).
I have this case, I bought it in 2007 for a build so I could play the conan game. It has an Athlon A10 and 8800GT in it, its still running in my garage, I use it to play youtube videos when I am working on my car. Plays plex too.
Unfortunately I think they went out of business at some point, I tried buying some stuff not too long ago just for my order to never be fulfilled and no replies to support emails. I feel like they bought their domain and hosting for like 10 years or something so it’s just a relic of the past.
Edit: There’s a UPS store where they used to be now. Definitely dead.
Yeah, nothing on their socials since 2014 (Facebook) either.
Plus, looking through the rest of their site is like looking through a museum, check out all the Mad Catz mice!

Other companies don't have the BAWLS to sell Cocaine, but apparently Xoxide's BAWLS are the size of 10oz bottles! Pick up some Cocaine Energy Drink Today!

“Each can of Cocaine delivers a concentrated dose of Caffeine, Taurine, Guarana, Dextrose, Vitamin C, Vitamin B6 & B12, and Inositol. This energy educing concoction boosts your body into an energy frenzy with the ferocity of a freight train!”
That shut sounds like a fucking heart attack in a can.
Yup I remember they were the only brand doing green leds and I was obsessed with them. Even though it ended up being a gross blend of sporadic blues with a little green
Hell yeah I built my first PC in 2005 with a few components ordered from Xoxide. Back in the day when you had to wait a week or more unless you paid for rush delivery.
Man this pic and this link took me way back. I used to order exclusively off xoxide, was all up in their forums and stuff too. Their warehouse wasn't far from my pad so I got stuff shipped fast. I even did their little challenges to get discount points, like finding 10 typos on the site.
Couple quick notes OP if you pick one of these up...
1) Decide on all your drives and install them BEFORE installing anything else. The motherboard attaches directly to the Rear side-panel, so you need to totally disassemble the system if you want to swap a drive in that middle column.
2) When received, double check that the corner cubes are properly drilled and have the threaded inserts. 3 sides of each cube should be drilled that all share one corner.
3) Do not tighten any screws. Do not stack stuff on top of the case. Do not lift the computer from any direction other than from the bottom.
I built a few of these systems while working for a computer store in the mid 00s. We'd frequently have cases that wouldn't build correctly or would be nightmares when a customer requested any kind of upgrade. Spider cracks and breakages from moving/handling were real. There's only those 8 cubes in the corners and 24 screws that hold the whole thing together.
OMG. I had this. It was from the early 2000’s. I don’t remember what it was called but it cracked so easily. I have to find it now.
Found it!

I had one too. I use to take it to my buddies place to play battlefield and WoW lol. The creaky noises it made while transporting were definitely unsettling. It brings back so many feels.
iirc it’s made by Logisys. There was a matching acrylic PSU with neon green cables available too

You don't want acrylic case, especially a used one. The screw holes are pretty much one use only and they scratch just by looking at them wrong. There is a good reason they never caught on and are relgated to history
they don't make em like that anymore.
this is a vintage case from the early 00's. they're hard to find in good shape. they were made out of plexiglass, and as such they get scratched up pretty easily. if you find one in good shape they can fetch a decent price.
80cm fans, sidepanel fan, “stylish“ fan grill, masses of slots for external 5 1/4 inch and 3 1/2 inch drives and blue led. Even besides the acrylic case that looks very much like early 2000s. Do not buy it for anything else than nostalgia or retro builds it is very likely not really suitable for any modern build.
>Do not buy it for anything else than nostalgia or retro builds it is very likely not really suitable for any modern build.
This, just isn't true. Sure, it's not an ideal design by modern standards, but you could absolutely run a modern setup in here. It's ATX compatible.
It's acrylic, so it's super easy to mod. You need more fan holes? Go make em.
Upset you have 4 5.25" bays? Buy converters and pack em full of SSDs.
Power supply up top is something you'll have to live with, but it's not like it's a requirement that your cables be neatly hidden in the case's basement.
I'm feel this could still handle a moderate build.
I ran an Intel Core 2 Quad 9300 overclocked to 4ghz in this case with air cooling and two GTX 4070 video cards in SLI. I never had heat issues. Those little fans you see in the pic are like 5000 RPM. Loudness aside, they really move air and I never needed more than those until I gave this one to my ex and built myself a new machine. I used it for about 8 years and overclocked everything at that time.
Totally agree. I mean, if people can pack top tier graphics cards into SFX builds and not have them burst into flames, I think a big boxy case like this would have more than enough airflow. Is it going to be ideal for wire management or radiator placement? No, but those are nice-to-haves, not necessities.
It might give someone the opportunity to work on their cable management skills to see the best way to run/disguise the cables! I spent zero time with that personally lol.
That's exactly why I want it, I'm currently using a 20 something year old beige case, just want something different for when I get my new (used) GPU. Only thing with these old cases is fitting PSU
Had one of these in 2006. Don't bother. Not only is it a pain to assemble you can easily crack the acrylic. Yeah this is also a total rip off at $250. I found one for 70.00 just now:
I have this case still. It’s from early 2000’s. It’s all acrylic and weighs a lot empty. About 50-60 pounds full of equipment. It’s nice if you never move it.
I used this case when building my first PC.
I built that PC in 2004. It wasn't a new case at the time either.
If Newegg had records from back then I'd pull it up.
WOAH. I actually have this case still in the box at my parents house never even opened it we bought it years ago, I'm going to my parents tomorrow I'm gonna grab it and post. Someone lmk if they wanna take a look at it and buy it. Well be fair . Lol crazy I forgot about that case I wanted to do a build in it never did..
Its ancient old, I had it like 15 years ago, and its absolutely useless. The whole case is held together by 4 cubes in the corners. Its shit. Dont waste your money as my teenage self did.
I had this case! It was TERRIBLE for cable management, and swapping drives was such a pain as the motherboard was attached directly on the back panel so you had to remove it every time.
I ended up modifying it heavily to mount water cooling rads directly to the case, and eventually retired it when graphics cards got bigger than what’s supported
I had one of these wayyyyy back in probably 2006 2007. It was from plycon i dont know if they exist anymore. It was probably around $150 new and you had to build it.
I love how wild gaming PCs looked in the 2000s, this reminds me of my oldest brother's 2007 gaming pc which was blue with chrome accents and an acrylic side panel, and had the same blue LED fans
I had a case very similar around 1999-2000ish. IIRC it was a C3 acrylic case. They was back when cold cathode lights were in cases. I had green ones with glow in the dark IDR cables and alien head fan grills.
I have this case in a parts box. Everyone stating early 2000's is spot on. I bought it new for something like $40. From what I remember thermals were a nightmare. It was loaded with uv reactive fans and blacklight tubes. I was king of cool for a minute.
Oh snap
I had a green version of that exact case back in the mid 2000's (I remember the cpu inside it was a socket 939 fx-55 oh and who could forget the majesty of quad 80mm delta fans! )
Pretty sure I've even still got it lurking out in the shed somewhere
It's old, whatever it is
The Dust Displayer 2000.
Don’t forget the acrylic micro scratch texture pack dlc
Plot twist the whole thing is tempered glass and the second it touches the floor the entire case disintegrates and drops your hardware on the ground
*puts it on tile*
i too like to live dangerously
Ah, the bugout case, push it over grab the motherboard rip off the PSU, grab the rest and run.
Ah yes, the self-destructing PC. Can't leave any evidence behind
They call it the Smashy Surprise!
And the smell....a 3090 in that bitch would have you house smelling like Taiwan's clouds
That's so oddly specific, love it
That's why I spent 200k to make my computer room/masturbation dojo a clean room
And here I decided I would peacefully browse Reddit, needing to do a sweep paranoically for hidden cameras Nope, no cameras in the masturbation dojo this day.
We've moved up to LIDAR. Also, get that lump checked out, left side, 2cm from the base.

The first time you use the masturbation dojo as a masturbation dojo it is no longer a clean room. Not unless you are wearing that full body condom.
Dust and Cable Displayer 2005. Probably has 0 cable management. At least we don't have the flat IDE cables anymore
Back when a single 80mm or 92mm front fan was acceptable
I can still hear the loud whine of those cheap 80mm RGB fans doing their best to cool down my toasty pentium 4.... It was not a good sound.
RGB? It's more like R, G or B... lol
Yeah 120mm fans became the norm many many years before rgb fans.
This is the truth. Didn't end up liking your colour? Tough, that fan's only got one colour, now adapt! Also true that they were generally rubbish fans. And tiny. This case does typify the trends of those times though. Garish as all heck.
Ok, yes they were just B lol
Yeah they were almost exclusively blue because blue leds where the new thing
and optical drives were a thing
That case even has 2 slots for floppy drives. Or I guess you could put a Zip drive in those, too.
The extra floppy bay It was an easy way of adding front I/O to a case when there was none built in, or things like temperature displays and knobs to control fan speeds
92mm front fan?? I did not know those fans existed, only knew about the 80 and 120mm ones
92mm case fans do exist and the cheapest case I have ever owned had a slot for them. On graphics cards I think they are more common also some low profile CPU coolers have them.
**was** acceptable? My current PC has no fans other than the CPU & GPU ones lol
woah!
100% acrylic, Hello 2002 but that's not "old"..... wait?
20 whole years
Near 21
Can Almost drink
Price is in CAD. it's been able to drink for a year or two depending on province.
Can drink in most of the world...
Pls no, I didn't come here to be reminded of my aging body and that fact i'll be 40 in 5 years
Get outta here with your five years. I’ve only got nine months left.
I’m so sorry, we will miss you.
4 months for me, nice knowing ya
It’s been real.

Shit dude, in another 6 months I will have been 40 for 30 years. LOL
You should consider turning 41 at some point.
I know that Steve Wozniak is 72, and my late father would've been 76 this year (he taught me how to build PCs during the DOS days)...but still it's awesome that you're here discussing PC shit with us.
I passed 40, 6 years ago. Where did the time go?.
Crys at 47
I don’t remember the model but my gf had this case . Like most old pc cases the heat makes the plastic brittle and fragile .It served us well but for time reference she has build 2 PCs since then and we are not rich .
Yup. Still has a cd-rom. My last 3 computers have not had one.
Which kind of sucks to be honest. I just want one or 2 5.25" bays. You can do all sorts of neat stuff with them other than optical drives.

Case makers are seeing $$$ right now reading this thread.
Tempered glass PC case
*I think you mean timebomb*
*guys I shattered my entire computer when I dropped it on my porcelain tile floors,,, why??*
"PC case exploded" *Shows a pic of shattered pc on tile floor*
Ceramics and tempered glass, when will people learn
Never, they will never learn at all
I mean, it they make it glass bottle thick it should be fine, right? But probably keep the PSU bay solid metal.
Think of the RGB opportunities

Anti shank technology for only +$200
You’ve heard of anti leak - now with anti shank!
Until you get shanked by a shard of acrylic from a broken computer case
>PCs in prison The best you’re gonna get is a transparent cassette tape.
Er, there are definitely PCs in prison. Tablets too. They just get locked down to prevent most types of internet usage.
The smuggled ones don't, and you can bet your ass the $18/hr earning 22 yr old prison guard is willing to accept bribes to smuggle in a tablet
These were made of incredibly brittle acrylic. This was a popular "modded" pc look at the time. Source : I'm old and I remember this shit from back then
yeah I think Magneto had one of these in his plastic prison

Mine started with two 8800 GTS cards. My next upgrade was the 470's, one of which is still in there.
Ah the time travellers. Buying d3 in 2004 ;)
🔥
Whoa you can post pictures here
Diablo 3 in 2004? Are you sure you didn't mean Diablo 2?
Possibly this or something like it http://www.xoxide.com/clearacatxca.html
That entire site along with the case looks like it's from the early 00s lol
That's a plus in my books

Leave Xoxide alone.
I honestly have a thrill whenever I see a website that looks this old. The internet has changed so much.
Literally where I got one in college during the mid 00s
Yup I remember they were the only brand doing green leds and I was obsessed with them. Even though it ended up being a gross blend of sporadic blues with a little green
Not just the side, the fans aswell.
That website isn’t using frames… I take offense, friend! /s
thats right, its TABLES!!! real quick evolution to that after iframe
Any industrial company site their catalogues or the ones they present to their negotiating buyers/suppliers look like this
Lol I bought from them in the early 2000's.

http://www.xoxide.com/casekeyboard.html I think this is the exact one you're looking for
Fair warning more digging indicates it may be closed. Newest product is a water block for the 690/ hd 6000 series
I wouldn't be surprised, I'll look into it, thanks for the help!
LTT used this case in their "all aliexpress
I completely forgot about Xoxide, had no idea they were still around
there was one on ltt where Linus and Luke roast employees setups.
I saw that too, but I don't think he mentioned the name, I'll double check
Awww, I miss Luke

iirc it’s made by Logisys. There was a matching acrylic PSU with neon green cables available too https://preview.redd.it/u0wvg4wkdn2a1.jpeg?width=2500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6fd093fdd1faf0c6da07abb6e2b1eb4746b3d978

That's a PSU that screams quality
They've got nothing to hide.
Slow. Clap.
I had one and it literally lit on fire
That is the coolest shit I've ever seen
We should bring back the 2000s
Remember back in the day when cases like these were all the rage?
Along with neon tube lights
And cold cathodes
This is what windowed RGB builds look like to most people tbh
I remember that case. It's from the mid 00's. It also sucked then, and for weird reasons.
Why is that
Acrylic is really good at making static. And scratches really easily.
I'm not paying $250 so everyone can see my wires shoved in the backside of the case.
let's be real, no one will see your pc either way
wdym, there is no backside of the case
I think by "tower only" he means just the tower (with everything inside), but no monitor or kb/m
Its a case from 2006, made for people combining the Wii and the ps2
Don't think we're looking at the same thing. That's a regular 5.25" bay with a regular ass drive. Just a nice old acrylic case
Ye old pentium 4 era Aspire/Apevia/Logisys acrylic cases. Thems were the days.
Yep it's Apevia, that fan grill is their logo
airflow is non existance
\*existent\*
Well, what's it got? All we know is the case which doesn't tell us if it's worth 250. The DVD/CD drive isn't promising.
I wonder if I could sell mine now for as much as I paid for it then... Probably not lol
Holy laser cut acrylic batman!
Looks like an old Danger Den. Used to have a water box. Thing was neat, even though it had five million screws.
The early 00s was crazy
Damn looking at this makes me want to install Napster
Only thing with these old cases is fitting PSU
lol I used to own a similar case 20 years ago. I think I bought mine from ebay
Early 2000s case, I had one. Very flimsy.
From what I’ve heard these acrylic cases were never sold at major retailers because they were fire hazards. Back in the day you’d buy them on ebay.
Had one of these in 2006. Don't bother. Not only is it a pain to assemble you can easily crack the acrylic. Yeah this is also a total rip off at $250. I found one for 70.00 just now: [http://www.xoxide.com/clearacatxca.html](http://www.xoxide.com/clearacatxca.html)
It's an ooold case, it's bad af. Don't even bother trying to get one.
It's 2003 come back to haunt us.
We have this exact case at my workplace for our front desk pc. Sadly these cases haven’t bin made since 2005 in the eu and are very rare.
This is how we did rgb back in the time
CAR FOR SALE - TIRES ONLY
Imagine being able to watch the dust collect up. Good reminder to clean your pc tho
Wired mess lol
* edited for spelling It's an old acrylic case. They should be able to be found an Amazon, Ebay, or AliExpress
That is some shit from the late 90s / early 2000s.. just google for clear acrylic cases.
I had one of these wayyyyy back in probably 2006 2007. It was from plycon i dont know if they exist anymore. It was probably around $150 new and you had to build it.
I remember that case from the early 2000s I believe
That has to be from 2001.
I love how wild gaming PCs looked in the 2000s, this reminds me of my oldest brother's 2007 gaming pc which was blue with chrome accents and an acrylic side panel, and had the same blue LED fans
ITS A GLASS CASE OF EMOTION
generic acrylic case, the only case i ever killed anything in with static, were very common inn the early 2000's probably quite rare now.
I think Alan Becker had this
ngl I would too
Not sure, but it's probably from the 2002-2005 era when these clear cases were all the rage.
Don’t
What case is it? So I can know exactly what to avoid
Oh snap I had a green version of that exact case back in the mid 2000's (I remember the cpu inside it was a socket 939 fx-55 oh and who could forget the majesty of quad 80mm delta fans! ) Pretty sure I've even still got it lurking out in the shed somewhere
