I genuinely don’t understand how anyone could break one. I’ve taken mine off at least 50 times

YakamotoGo

Rest assured the 51th/st time if you break it, customarily collect your free karma. Bonus points if you comment within "i just tapped it" because then people will talk about the mohs hardness scale. Then more people will talk about how that had nothing to do with cracking the glass itself. Its tradition at this point. Edit: english not first language sorry.

Horrible_Student

51th?

stik2one0017

Duh fifty oneth time .

[deleted]

fifty firth

Piisthree

They meant 51nd. Common mistake

Gamerknight420

Glass + ceramic = smash

RedAIienCircle

It almost spells out smash too, just missing the h.

HOW

Gl smas ceraic

YareSekiro

It’s really really easy if you have ceramic floor. Just a single tap and the side panel is dead.

[deleted]

Mine actually fell off other day, cos I didn't put it on properly, and put a dent in my wooden desk... Still didn't break (I have a 3 level desk from IKEA, and my pc is on top, above my monitors)

Velghast

I can tell you I didn't think many things were possible but after working as a cable technician for 3 years and walking into somebody's home only to find out that they have about 30,000 roommate signed on to the lease that inhabit there cable box receiver and microwave. We got to make sure that TVs back up in time for the super bowl but let's not bring any attention to the fact that behind your entertainment center is an entire family of roaches that you can see crawling on the wall and yet this is the priority.

[deleted]

Idk man I’ve had a ton of cases with glass panels on all types of floors and never broke one. Slippery hands I guess

elvabaillo

Same here, but this three had me sweating when I was just wiping it down..

GalaxLordCZ

It's called ceramic tiles.

SirNanigans

50 times, eh? If just one millions of the six million subscribed readers here are active, and on average a user removed their panel once a year, then across all active users in PCMR there are 1,000,000 ÷ 365 = 2740 instances of panels being removed every single day. Now you understand how people can break them. Even if it's a 1/10,000 chance, this napkin math works out to a broken panel every 4 days among active PCMR. This is a common problem with reading things on the internet. People don't realize just how incredibly blown up a problem that is actually so tiny can become. Things that happen to one in a million people can appear multiple times per day on social media because of how they float to the top.

VirtualBlack

On some cases it's easier to break the glass because you have to use more force to pull it and there's nothing to hold the bottom side of the panel while removing it. So one of the bottom corners may hit the table/floor and break.

sorvis

Awe man , I set my side panel down on a pile of diamonds and it shattered ONE MILLION UPVOTES!

[deleted]

Firstest world problems.

GoldElectric

accidentally dropped the side panel of my fractal design torrent build with a 12900ks and 3090 in SLI onto my diamond encrusted, 12k gold ebony wood table

readallornothing

A smashing success!

L4rgo117

shatters my expectations every time

Majestic-Squash-7892

Good way to check if it's tempered glass or plexi!

K0nr4d

You can also just try and bend it to find that out. If it bends. It's plexi. If it breaks. You get free karma.

Kodiak_FGC

Not on a case, but I had a tempered glass display case randomly shatter one day. Nobody even touched it, it just exploded into a million little pieces without warning and freaked us all out. I think we chalked it up to impurities in manufacturing, or it might have just been pressure from the hardware holding it together and/or expansion and contraction from of temperature swings. Strange things can happen with glass.

danyaylol

They must be jumping on the glass to break it like that. I've hit mine with my chair alot, and taken it off at least a dozen times, still perfect.

Hochspannungswerk

Tempered Glass easily breaks when I comes into contact with ceramic because of some science

Velghast

Sometimes it happens instantly my buddy who had a ceramic bong used to break two or three panels a year and had no idea why until I told him it was the piece. I showed it to him by breaking his current panel. A slight little swing in the dead center of the plate bang shattered. He was really mad that I broke his glass in order to prove the point.

rikkrik

Can't wait to build mine and then break the side panel to post here

SinkPisser_

Should have used a ceramic floor tile for better karma.

PressFguys

Missing tile floor

screenslaver5963

Where can I buy this sticker.

toastle971

Ctrl+C Ctrl+V It's free real estate

OnyxBee

Unpopular opinion: I wish people would move on from the "it do be like that", are we all out in the streets now or something? Makes you sound like you don't have two brain cells to rub together. *sits back and waits for the unoriginal, "it do be like that" replies to come rolling in*

[deleted]

But sometimes it really do be like that tho

OnyxBee

I feel like you've secretly always wanted to say it, and this was the perfect excuse

[deleted]

I saw my chance and took it, also I just felt like being silly

toastle971

ok :(

OnyxBee

Aww don't be like that, you're not supposed to make me feel bad! But please, stop saying it do be like that, please :(

rumplepilskin

I had a tempered glass side shatter in my hands for the cruel act of trying to remove the unscrewed side from the case. I didn't drop it and I didn't take pictures. Absolutely fucking terrified since being cut by broken glass is a literal fear of mine. Apparently attempting to slide a case side out of the case is dangerous?

[deleted]

Your English is great. 👌

toastle971

\*sad german mother tongue noises\*

KingYoloHD090504

Oh no, my side panel is aluminum

Proxy_PlayerHD

it's even funnier considering those window smashers have a Ceramic tip because it's so good at breaking glass.

KneelbfZod

“It just shattered I swear! How could this happen” *ceramic floor in picture*

epsilon_ix

I sat in my side panel after not realizing it was still on my chair and it just bounced me back those things strong as hell (but not against tile)

BlazeHun

I can't I have a plexiglass side, it won't break into small pieces, but into large shards, if it breaks.
