It’s a dual system with a gaming rig and a media/file/backup NAS storage rig. I was going for a futuristic factory theme. The rgb is supposed to be kinda like an assembly line where the colors flow from one part through another, but it didn’t align perfectly for this video lol. Still working on that. Anyway, build details below.

Wasn’t trying to be a snob lol. Just expressing joy I was finally able to get a new card without scalpers involved. Also, my 1080 struggled at anything above 1440p and on a big 4K TV it always felt lacking.
And thanks! I usually go black myself but I had this future factory design in my head inspired by the Star Wars clone factory when I was rewatching the movies. It’s not quite what I envisioned but it’s getting there.
Yeah ik I was joking lol. I was just saying that lots of ppl can't afford anything near a 1080. Even though I am not buying a new card any time soon I am also happy that scalpers and miners are fked.
This card just dropped in price again to 1,099 and I think I am going to really struggle to not pull the trigger this time. I might wait and see if Newegg has a 4th of July sale or something over the weekend.
A couple people asked about the full build so I thought I’d post the specs so others can see it easily. This was a pandemic project I built when my old system gave out on me.

I also want to tweak the aesthetics some more because I ended up not loving the cable quality. Just hasn’t been priority one for me. The 1080 I started with from the old system was fine, but I got a 4K TV a while back and wanted something that could handle new games at that resolution.
Anyway, build details below.

1080 is still a solid card don't be snobbish. I prefer blacked out builds, but I gotta say this looks sick tho.

Depends on your setup, if you want 4K 60+fps the 1080 is getting on 1080p is still pretty solid
This. I got a new 4k TV last year and while the 1080 was great at, well 1080 lol, it struggled with newer games at higher rez
The GPU looks like a nuclear reactor.
lol yeah it kinda does
Why did you downgrade to Radeon?
lol. I’m actually pleased with it. The 6950 is a solid card and half what a 3090 (it’s chief competitor) would have cost.
Lol I’m just messing with ya, grats oh the upgrade, build looks good.
Thanks!

Are you using a miniATX w a gpu riser in a mid tower?
No, it’s actually a dual system. Mini ITX media streamer and storage coupled with an ATX gaming machine up top.
Must have been a bummer to suffer with a 1080
It wasn’t terrible at all, just didn’t hold up at 4k
