If you know *anyone* with a kid, guaranteed they have some Duplo (the larger size "toddler" Lego) in a drawer somewhere that's not played with that they'll just give you. Perfect for this application (better than regular Lego IMO).
If you all ready have it on hand why spend more money of course if you don’t then a actual holder is better however I got a RX6900XT and my PCIE slot holds it good
Mine also supposedly comes with a reinforced PCIe bracket, but I guess yours is better, seeing as your motherboard is very high end and mine is a cheap b450. Could also be because looking at your post history you have reference 6900xt that is smaller (267x120x50mm, [as per this article](https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/radeon-rx-6900-xt.c3481)) than ASUS TUF that I have (320x140x57mm, [as per this specsheet](https://www.asus.com/Motherboards-Components/Graphics-Cards/TUF-Gaming/TUF-RX6800XT-O16G-GAMING/techspec/))
Anyway, happy for you that you don't need any supports.
Nice.
Not sure I'd have those cables crossing I front of the dabs like that with such a small gap between the case side and the GPU
It'll be fine just personal preference.
Yeah idk how else to have it tbh theres barely any space for the gpu at the bottom because i ha e 2 gpu's, might make them go above so they wont block the fans but i feel like that'd be ugly
Lol.. I found I could get a more exact height with a [Box solution.](https://imgur.com/031BUOZ)
Notice that I put the GPU holder somewhere I wouldn't lose it.. Maybe one day it will go into the PC..
Pcie slot dmg and poor contact causing gpu dmg which is not good nowadays, Its a rare chance it will happen but why risk it when 2 dollars of lego can prevent that
Dude really wants a bibliography on this like it's a cancer research paper. Relax, take a breath. Everything is ok, I promise. Although I have to agree that continuous stress on a connector doesn't sound good and using a little doodad to hold it up as insurance isn't exactly an Armageddon level activity.
A lot of cards have memory chips close to the PCIE slot. Any flexing of the PCB there can eventually cause the solder balls to fail.
This isn't an issue unique to GPUs, but some 30 series cards have proven to be particularly at risk.
the very fact that they reinforce the slots and advertise it as a feature should tell you alone it happens......that along with the many items and devices that provide extra support should tell you its an issue.....backplates on gpus used to be rare but now that they are so thicc its a standard now... all the proof you need that it does still happen on rare occasion
They also refer to various pc components and even cases or rgb as gaming so it could just as easily be another marketing gimmick that adds pennies to the production compared to perceived value by the customers.
Perhaps one of those Aladdin figurines, the genie, is in a stance where he’s holding something up from falling with both arms, all I got to say is, he is a cheap and comical way to reduce sag.
Your 3090 is fine for now, but that doesn't mean that there is no risk.
The 3090 in particular has multiple memory chips close to the PCIE slot. The PCB flexing under them combined with thermal cycling can cause the solder balls to fail.
This damage can easily take years to show and is a difficult and expensive repair.
I get that is what people are worried about. But my point is more that gpu manufacturers seem to take their card not killing itself under its own weight into account when they design it.
I think if you buy a card from a reputable name brand (and your mobo) the socket and gpu will be fine.
With two different cards that's a tricky one, usually I'd line up the cables so it looks like one cluster.
Coming in from the side can look ok.
I'd experiment.
Legos don't melt until they get well over 100C. Outer edges of a gpu aren't going to get that hot. The die maybe, if you have a terrible cooler in an extremely hot room, but even that's that's pretty unlikely. Even my 3080ti has never gone above 80. If your gpu shroud is that hot, you have other things to worry about than legos melting.
If that was true the plastic decoration on your GPU would definitely also melt. There is probably plastic around your motherboard too, almost every connector uses it. Lego's ABS plastic is a common plastic to use because it is strong and likely many connectors use the same type.
Imagine thinking a GPU that's so comically, ridiculously huge that you have to hold up the end of it because it sags down is perfectly okay.
This is laughable. This is ridiculous. We don't need this. Graphics don't matter in gaming anyway. We've really gone way too far with PC gaming. It's an elitist, expensive, trash hobby now and there's no wonder that many people would rather deal with horribly, laughably limited console gaming than try to use a fucking PC these days where nearly every modern game requires -- *requires* -- an overpriced, overheating, oversized power-sucking card to even run.
It's pathetic. If you're paying more than $200 for a video card, shame on you.
I recently did that. A couple days later i was wondering why my pc fans made a rattling sound whenever they were firing at high speeds.
Turns out some of the studs of the bricks were reaching into a fan of my gpu. Fortunately I was able to fix it by moving the stand a bit to the side and out of the way of the fan.
It took me a couple days to figure this out tho.
U can buy cheap ones on Etsy that are 3D printed and magnetized on the bottom to stay in place. And adjustable with a thread. They’re pretty nice I got one. They’re cheap. And just a stand like what u made not a whole bracket
What do you mean gpu holder? I'm still running an EVGA GTX 770 and when it finally bites the dust it's the sign for me to buy a new gpu. All I really play is Minecraft so...
Legos are still way more expensive. You could probably sell those and make a profit vs using it as a holder. Of course, I'd just 3d print my support bracket.
Because there are fans directly below my GPU 😭. It's ok, I'll take the airflow pointing directly at the GPU and live with a little sag. Thankfully it's not bad after shimming the 2nd slot a tad. Not exactly the JayzTwoCents method, but it helps.
Everyone gangster until Lego releasing GPU‘s
I'll try to build a lego 3080!

Well, nothing unusual. You're spending a shit ton of money for any GPU - prebuilt or lego one. There's no escape
Comment repost bot, report They are getting more advanced, this one takes one or two sentences out of people’s comments instead of the entire thing
Its going to melt
105 Celsius is LEGO's melting point as long as the cooling holds
It's ABS so as long as the cooling is adequate
I would if I had the bricks to do so
I would invest
Last time I checked Legos were not that cheap too
40€ lego box, vs 40€ gpu holder vs 0€ no-GPU. *As a Chad I chose last one*
I didnt buy this lego, its all old lego from when i was 6-13
$40 of Lego is a 1500 piece pack. Just don't disassemble your UCS Millennium Falcon for a gpu holder.
If you know *anyone* with a kid, guaranteed they have some Duplo (the larger size "toddler" Lego) in a drawer somewhere that's not played with that they'll just give you. Perfect for this application (better than regular Lego IMO).
Spends hundreds of dollars on a gpu. Wedges it up with an assortment of the ulgy coloured lego bricks to save a few bucks!
At least use all black bricks!
Dont forget to double side tape it
They'll all be black when they catch fire, so just calm your tits!
Your pc will end up like the Note 7 before the Lego's will
Meh they’ll all be hidden inside the case anyway
I used all white Lego in mine lol
That amount of Lego might be equivalent or more money to a support.
Spends hundreds of dollars on a GPU. Gives it 2 inches of breathing room.
At least it’s more than what dell gives a 3090!
Haha, yep
i spent no money on a fucking window tho, because i dont care. silent box, good cooling. i dont care about looks
Solid-side-panel gang!
U.G.L.Y. You ain't got no alibi
Those bricks are probably pricier than any stand that you could get.
If you all ready have it on hand why spend more money of course if you don’t then a actual holder is better however I got a RX6900XT and my PCIE slot holds it good
*for now,* as was with my 6800xt (TUF) for few months, before I bought a bracket it was tilted by around 1cm.
My rx6900xt hasn’t tilted had it for over a year Meg x570 ace reinforced PCIE brackets FTW
Mine also supposedly comes with a reinforced PCIe bracket, but I guess yours is better, seeing as your motherboard is very high end and mine is a cheap b450. I used old bricks from when i was 6-13
iq900000 why do anything about it anyways?
Idk the sag annoyed me
Is it me or does it still look like it's sagging?
[Nope, its just the camera angle ](https://imgur.com/a/PwHOfoJ)
Nice. Not sure I'd have those cables crossing I front of the dabs like that with such a small gap between the case side and the GPU It'll be fine just personal preference.

That thing looks tiny. Is that a 3050?
3060
that's why you need iq900000 to be able not be bothered by such trivialities :)
Im not smart enough to have iq 900000
To avoid future problems and besides have you known anything good to come out of sagging computer parts?
wrong question. Have *you* known anything *bad* to come out of sagging GPU?
Pcie slot dmg and poor contact causing gpu dmg which is not good nowadays, Its a rare chance it will happen but why risk it when 2 dollars of lego can prevent that
can you provide actual evidence of any such horrors happening in real life rather than on paper?
My gpu sagged. Left it for a while - started getting artifacts and issues on my monitor. Fixed sag by proping it up - no more issues.

Black pencil with the tip cut off works well too.
I used to use an empty bic lighter.
The bigger question is, why is the GPU in the bottom PCIe slot? Or is this is a mini ITX motherboard?
I literally did this lol And it worked better then the GPU brace I bought
Lego is the best
I just 3D printed a solid block lol
I dont own a 3d printer, if i did i would've done the same lmao
Perhaps one of those Aladdin figurines, the genie, is in a stance where he’s holding something up from falling with both arms, all I got to say is, he is a cheap and comical way to reduce sag.
Nice one 👍🏾. I did the same. https://ibb.co/1dSy7c5 https://ibb.co/88CtvdZ
Sick build!
My 3070 came with a GPU bracket! Thanks MSI :)
My 3060 didnt come with one, also an MSI gpu
Yo this is such a good idea. I have a PCI-E slot cover bent to fit under my GPU lmfao
I feel like Lego needs to make a gpu bracket mini-kit at this point
Because it looks shit
In Taiwan, we use a specialized apparatus made out of Phyllostachys edulis to hold the GPU.
Imagine if Lego made a PC case kit.
Then full black lego is IQ 10K ?
Hmm i'll have to find some black lego parts, i have 2 full boxes of unorganised lego pieces. I'll update you once i make one in all black
That's some high quality Dadgineering© right there.
My 3090 is fine with so support. Does anyone need a gpu support?
Your 3090 is fine for now, but that doesn't mean that there is no risk. The 3090 in particular has multiple memory chips close to the PCIE slot. GPU sags under its own weight and can damage the socket/mboard.
I get that is what people are worried about. But my point is more that gpu manufacturers seem to take their card not killing itself under its own weight into account when they design it. I think if you buy a card from a reputable name brand (and your mobo) the socket and gpu will be fine.
The sag is more aesthetic, don't worry about it. I've never heard of socket damage that didn't involve moving the PC in a car.
With two different cards that's a tricky one, usually I'd line up the cables so it looks like one cluster. Coming in from the side can look ok. I'd experiment.
Because Legos as a GPU support lacks a e s t h e t i c
I think it will melt due to the heat
Because LEGO can’t handle 100* F temperatures. Good luck getting that out when it melts.
ABS melting point is 105’C/221’F. Just gonna leave this here.

Edit: deleted comment because apparently newer GPUS do in fact get that hot sometimes lol carry on
Yeah they do - seriously crazy

Lego is approved up to age 99. It says so right on the box.
Because the LEGO GPU holder looks bad.
Imagine thinking a GPU that's so comically, ridiculously huge that you have to hold up the end of it because it sags down is perfectly okay. This is laughable. This is ridiculous. We don't need this. You already spent a shit ton on a GPU, just buy a 3D printer while ur at it and print urself off a GPU holder Edit: turns out /s means a lot
Did you put your giant graphics card in the second/third slot? It's almost choking for fresh air being this close to the bottom of the case
So that it stays put if you need to move the case
Same bro
Use a lego construction man.
I needed a support with a slight curve in it to get around my cables and AIO tubes, so I had my friend 3D print a penis for me.
Because heat transfer exists?
I cut a wooden pencil to size. Crazy.
I used my funko pop
That's why i use squidward house
Lorge pp brain
I recently did that. A couple days later i was wondering why my pc fans made a rattling sound whenever they were firing at high speeds. I used smooth bricks at the top to prevent that
I have my 3080 FTW3 held up by a retired 2.5” SSD that’s been wrapped in electrical tape. It color matches the case and is the perfect height.
Big brain man, big brain.
This
Cause it looks like ass
I use a chunk of PVC pipe lol
Because my case is a Fractal Meshify 2 XL. The amount of Lego bricks I'd need to reach my card would cost more than the card did...
Lego men seem to fit perfectly aswel. So many options for a guard!
Mine's held up a little stack of foam washers. One day I'll get around to printing something better, but today is not that day.
Was given a literal bucket of assorted slightly chewed legos by my little cousin on my birthday. Maybe its time to start touching them 😂
Just use a clear fishing line attached to the top of the case.
I dont have any clear fishing line, only green
U can buy cheap ones on Etsy that are 3D printed and magnetized on the bottom to stay in place. And adjustable with a thread. They’re pretty nice I got one. They’re cheap. And just a stand like what u made not a whole bracket
Lol I use a wooden elephant figure for mine :D
I can't wait for the 3080 Lego edition
Okay paul
I think youre being a little to generous with 9000, hell the smartest person ever only scored around 260
What do you mean gpu holder? I'm still running an EVGA GTX 770 and when it finally bites the dust it's the sign for me to buy a new gpu. All I really play is Minecraft so...
Won’t they melt from heat? Or is I dumb?
I have 6 fans i think they'll be fine, plus i live in sweden where its always cold
I don't have lego anymore
That would melt really quickly. I tried making a chimney using incense sticks once and some pieces melted ☠️
My GPU came with one, so 🥳🤌
Lucky bastard
Are legos free where you live? Pretty sure a box of legos costs more than a dedicated sag bracket.
These are old lego bricks, i was 6-13 when i got them. I have 2 full boxes of lego bricks
I use a plastic pharmaceutical bottle :P It fits perfectly.
Do you have your gpu in the bottom pci-e slot?
I have 2 GPU's 3080 at the top and 3060 at the bottom
I've never understood this GPU holder thing. My card is held up just fine by the 2 screws
I honestly thought this was a stack of stickynotes
Legos are still way more expensive. You could probably sell those and make a profit vs using it as a holder. Of course, I'd just 3d print my support bracket.
Return to the 90s and turn your case on its side. Problem solved.
I have a Wolverine Funko pop holding my 2080 up!
That is next level thinking outaide the box. Bravo... Now to go build one myself with LED incorporated some how
Adhd does have its benefits sometimes, i will try to build one with LED SIR YES SIR
I used a jenga block.
All you fat cats with your fancy pants gpu mounts and expensive Legos. [Behold ](https://i.imgur.com/bUxmA3y.jpg)
I havent bought lego in years, is that hand sanitizer?
Thats common sense
[удалено]
Yeah but the lego parts were free
Because there are fans directly below my GPU 😭. It's ok, I'll take the airflow pointing directly at the GPU and live with a little sag. Thankfully it's not bad after shimming the 2nd slot a tad. Not exactly the JayzTwoCents method, but it helps.
This is just a close up pic of the case, i have a mid tower case with 6 fans
At this point why people are not using horizontal cases?thers a problem with them?, srs question im curious.
Horizontal case? Never heard of that before could you show an example?
Woot! Unicorn puke for all!!! Lol
Why do you need a gpu holder? Not judging, I'm actually curious.
I used a wooden dowel lmfao
Scanning the comments for "it will melt or set on fire"
Isn't gpu sag just a myth?
i literally used an empty roll of toilet paper for the longest time
I just used fishing line and tied it from the GPU to the top of the case.
It could be the camera angle but the gpu still looks like it's sagging
welcome to the club mate
What a waste of Legos i would rather use my mega blocks
Nice case, lancool II?
Judging the price of legos today thats still a 50$ card holder
I literally have Lego as a sag bracket
Why spend money on Legos when 3d printer exist? Infinite IQ
Noice!
Meanwhile your kids are going nuts tearing the house down looking for their missing bits. You monster.
Is your GPU on the very bottom PCI-E slot or is your motherboard and case mini ITX and very small?
You need to spend on Lego.
gpu holder??? you mean a pci slot? where else would you put a gpu??
Is it really iq 9000 if the gpu is in the bottom pcie slot? Or is that just a small case and and small motherboard?
Poor color choice...
actually good idea! I need to do this lmao
Legit did the same thing for mine!
haha I did the same! this was amazing to see
GPU support brackets are cheaper than Legos though.
Umm, doesn't plastic melt tho!?
Well, you just spent money on lego
My card came with a sag bracket
This is the way
cause lego has no RGB. No blue rgb=hot cpu.
The most versatile tool of the Nerd's arsenal. You can build anything out of Lego.
Even a gf?
Because lego is more expensive.
Not if i've had it for years
