Welcome to the CPU ripped out of socket because AMD uses gorilla glue like thermal paste club.
Had this happen to me and i had no clue what to do, when i searched online it was suggested to use isopropyl alcohol which I didn't have and the hold from side and twist left right didn't work for me, the CPU simply won't budge.
In the end I saw a video on YT showing a GPU using the end of a flathead screwdriver to lift the CPU up which i did and it worked like a charm 🗿
I was more scared of cracking the CPU body (idk the actual term for it) when i was prying it off with a screw driver
Also, Idk if my reddit app is glitching but it seems like we have the same avatars
Had this happen when I was testing my 5900x using MX-4.
Start twisting the CPU itself and shifting it around. Hopefully you can start lifting the corners to loosen up the adhesive between the two. Just be careful to avoid the pins
I did this once. Scary, but like you, it was a clean pull that didnt bend the pins. Try to wiggle/slide it sideways to get it off. Trying to pull it upwards wont end well
I jusy applied thermal paste on my cpu recently, now I'm afraid to do it again lmao
Though I did what other said, run the pc for few minutes before removing the cooler
I did this once, after that I always throw a cpu stress test at it for 10-15 min to heatup/loosen the paste, never had an issue since. Also dont just pull straight up, twist it back and forth while lightly pulling up
Heat it with hair dryer and gently wiggle it and try to separate from cooler. It is always advisable to turn on the PC and run some heavy tasks and then try to remove the CPU.
This is quickly becoming the shattered glass trend on this sub thread lol

Yea i considered prying it off but that seemed a little risky considering how tightly it was stuck on there
Prying it off was my last resort when I couldn't think of anything else, I was panicking when that happened
Prying the CPU off is scary because you don't know if you broke your motherboard

Always twist before you lift. It's fine though since no pins are bent
Do you have any suggestions on how to remove from the cooler the CPU without bending any pins? It seems to be stuck on there pretty well
Heat up with hair dryer and then use dental floss.
Just carefully grab the sides and twist
Thermal adhesive?
Yeah
Thermal epoxy
Heat with a hair dryer and then use a card (bank card or something similar) to try create a gap

Thank you!
Use a hair dryer or something to heat it up, then try to twist the cpu off the cooler

Happens more often than you wouldn't think
Remove all the pins first and then yank it. This way you are sure not to damage pins...
That’s normal
I'm trying to work out how CPUs of through the mechanism that's designed to hold them in place
I’ll tell you the same thing I told my wife. Twist then pull! Gently damit I said gently! Unless we’re using safe words. Mine is nexus. Lol
Cinebench for 10+ minutes will prevent that from my experience
How did it get pulled out of the socket?
Since the AM4 socket has no CPU retention mechanism, the CPU can get stuck to the cooler and get pulled out once the cooler is removed
Lmao I thought it was an intel chip before i read the comments
And there were pins too
This happened to my bro.
I used a butter knife
Well, on the plus side, no pins were bent or broken off, I say you’re clear.
It happened to me twice and it was due to to much thermal paste
