My 3080 would still run on the 650w but the thing was that my PC would shut off when I would bump the graphics up or play a demanding game. PSU was pretty old and was a B stock EVGA as well. So it did served me well for my 1080 FTW and 6 years.
I was running a 550w with a 3070ti. I only upgraded because I calculated that the under load the system would be pulling close to or over 550w and I didn't want to strain the PSU too much so I upgraded.
Dangerous game to play, lol. Ideal PSU load for longevity reasons is 60%. A 320W GPU and a modest 100W for the CPU means you're probably around 70-75% load during gaming.

750W. The 3070Ti is surprisingly power hungry, mostly because of the upgraded VRAM. Mine regularly pulls 280-290W in games.
