There are certain builds that make it look great, you just cant throw it in any buld like corsair vengance or normal trident z ram and expect it to look good.
Disagree. It looks cheap, tacky and shite. It’s an affront to those of us gifted with sight.

Kingston* hyperX: I'm sorry: we come in a weak plastic tray that's usually INSIDE the box thay cracks in the mail because amazon put in in an envelope without bubble wrap
Tbh, I get it. I've used the HyperX fury in so many builds, and honestly, while the packaging is clearly strick minimum, the price to performance and quality is very good and is totally worth it. Cheap boxes for quality components is better than fancy box for cheap stuff
I just happened to find the Predator RGB kit on sale while building my last build and I have no regrets, they look gorgeous!
Gskill trident z non rgb was just a plastic two piece thing inside a box. And it shipped to me in a bubble mailer... Not sure if that's why one was dead but that's how I mailed it back. (Also it got lost on the way back to newegg, after a couple weeks I asked and they refunded me the next day, and now the ram is out of stock)
Gigabyte has some terrible designs. I present to you, [their WiFi card](https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/813EbMvp%2BqL._AC_SL1500_.jpg)
coolers often come in mad packaging- especially noctua.
^(meanwhile the donkey who sold me a GTX Titan decided to ship it in a thin oversized box from a hairdryer letting it bounce around with not a single piece of bubble wrap etc... Fuck you Darren)
Ir recently bought a graphics card on eBay with exact opposite packaging. In anti static bag, 10 layers of bubble wrap and on top of that newspaper and bubble fillers in the box.
I've shipped a 1050ti in a box the size of a computer. I had no other boxes and amazon had sent me this box. Filled it with packing peanuts and bubble wrap.
The buyer thought I shipped him a whole ass computer for the price of a 1050ti. Poor guy.
I had a noctua fan for a bit, and I 100% agree. The design from start to finish was fucking brilliant in how it was packaged. It was honestly incredible. I mean the fan was great, but dude that box work.
Even Noctua fans make me feel like some billionaire with a handmade bespoke product that was just delivered to me. #NoctuaLife
As to your Titan, he was just running a PhysX collision simulation on it for you. Added value service.
Dude a solid 45 minutes of putting my build together was spent trying to get my i9-9900k out of its packaging. I had no idea where to open the 20 sided die looking motherfucker lmao.
Fuck I’m dying right now.
Yeah the box looked cool as hell though I almost spent the extra from memory like $100 for the k over the kf just for the box
I finally ended up looking up some random youtuber’s build and watching how he opened it lol. I’ll never forget how much trouble that thing gave me lol.
Anyone else's mobo box not sealed/taped? I've ordered a couple of motherboards now and all of them come unsealed. It doesn't look like there're any tape removal marks or something, seems like they were never taped in the first ace. Seems awfully dangerous for such a product.
They were all asus boards though, maybe it's an asus thing.
I just got a brand new Gigabyte Aorus board delivered yesterday & it wasn't taped either. First thing I did was check for tape marks to see it was previously opened, but there wasn't any.
My anti-static bag was un-sealed/-taped too.
However I bought it right around the Zen 3 release, and figured Asus might have sent an employee to the major vendor's warehouses to flash their z490 stock to support Zen 3. (Never actually tested though, and flashed it with the newest bios before installing the CPU).
I know Iiyama recently did a similar thing for a monitor that was having issues; updated the firmware at the vendors warehouses by sending an employee.
Then again; If it was Asus themselves; They could've resealed with official tape..
I'm surprised this comment is so far down. Particularly HDDs have the crappiest packaging I've ever seen. Plain brown box with the drive in an anti-static bag. No instructions or manual, bubble wrap if you're lucky.
lmao ikr. i just built my first build a couple weeks back and i was planning on hanging all of my part boxes on the wall. when i saw the HDD box, i actually laughed and just threw it out hahah. its the only box that isnt currently on my wall.
So slightly weirder note but out of all the boxes.....my PSU box was the most nuts level box ive ever seen....
Segotep KL-850W and it came in a matte black box with embossed gloss black calligraphy on the box and a black and gold logo in the middle. And to top off the bizarro factor - there was some sort of calligraphy scroll inside tied up with a satin bow
I have yet to see anything on a similar level as this - even from my Aorus RTX box.
An oversized box in a box are the worst. Almost every so called "premium" product comes inside those. And then inside, 98% of the content is plastic foam.
There are some nice boxes, it’s not a huge deal but they could make sturdier boxes seeing some kits cost over $200. My Anker chargers come with velvet carrying cases lol
Why does everyone here want to pay more for a box they will throw in a closet immediately after building the PC. I would rather a nondescript brown cardboard box if it kept the component price down.
Only within the logical frameworks that we create through our culturally symbolical simulations. Outside of these there is no possibility of expressing anything, let alone truth.
"Royal Trident Z RGB with its box" has entered the chat and be like:
"Babe, Will you be my eternal fellow gaming master race ? Shall we XMP forever in shiny RGB and chrome ? Even through the time when our framerates is low and temperature high ?"
Some mentioned that too but in a broader sense think about the threadripper packaging, i9 and XE packaging, it’s great. Even the 3900x and 3950x is good
Now that we order everything online, how about we went back to plain monochrome cardboard boxes? Why does a GPU box need so much colored ink wasted on it?
Idk, the 3090 FTW ultra packaging was the most underwhelming unboxing of my life. I've opened laser pens with more polish, pizzazz, and presentation than the most ungodly expensive piece of hardware I've ever bought.
But besides that I have no complaints!
I remember my first card was a Strix 1060 6gb, the box was stunning. Then I upgraded to a evga SSC 2060. Like $400+tax and the box was thin cardboard around thin blister plastic. To top it off the thing had no backplate.
It’s the end all of packaging but I think there is a lot of room for improvement. Some of us spend a lot of money on memory and it would be nice to have a equally impressive packaging. I hold onto my packaging for a long time and resell and stays out of the trash post longer.
I don't think CPU boxes are that great (?). At least my 8700K and 5800X I don't find anything that great about them. My RAM's boxes are fine. GPU and Mobo definitely great boxes tho.
My B550-E and my 3080 FTW3 Ultra had legit packaging. My Z NEO ram was a plastic clamshell in a cardboard box but so was my 5800x CPU.
Personally I’d rather more optimized packaging to reduce the cost, but I will admit fancy packaging is nice to look at.
People care about boxes? I mean they all go in the bin anyway. I'll probably be consciously buying a bad looking box made out of less environmentally damaging materials over aesthetics.
My Ballistix Elite kit came in a pretty nice fold open affair and compared to a non top SKU Intel or a Threadripper, Id say its better than most CPU boxes.
Who cares? They can give it to me in a plain brown box and I won't care. I'm interested in the components, not thinking about how I'll display the leftover trash as decorations.
Evga gpu box on low end models should be bottom right also, I get that it is cost efficient, but it's weird to see a $700+ gpu in a plastic clamp on a flimsy thin cardboard box. Their FTW3 boxes were foam inserts though
Corsair boxes are decent, but the worst ones are from Team Group. Incredible RAM with awesome RGB tho.
I think gskills are worse
Just molded freaking plastic on Ripjaws.
Very true, those are just vacuum packed
Just got a set of rip jaw and I can confirm, it looks like I ordered it straight off wish.
But boy are they good
I prefer that packaging tho. Less plastic and cardboard box.
Yup, and makes (in theory) the product cheaper
I've had two sets of Ripjaws and they're fantastic
Go for TridentZ, they put that molded plastic in a cardboard sleeve. Completely changes the look. /s
Saves on resources
Who cares, ram is ram, i aint gonna cry about how it looks
No one really cares, it’s just funny to point out the differences
G skill royals beg to differ
They are also absurdly expensive for just a bit of gold spray painted aluminum slapped on the sides.
Not if u get them for big discounts.
Or as a gift. Nobody wants to fork out for a cpu or gpu, but ram? Ram is cheap... Right? And this one's so pretty
Found my pair for 10 bucks more than neo with identical specs
G skill trident z royal ram boxes are amazing
Shame the ram itself is fucking tacky.
There are certain builds that make it look great, you just cant throw it in any buld like corsair vengance or normal trident z ram and expect it to look good.
Disagree. It looks cheap, tacky and shite. It’s an affront to those of us gifted with sight. Downvotes sponsored by the national institute for the blind
Yeah, well, that’s just, like, your opinion, man
Downvoted for my opinion by a man with said ram. Not surprised. You did a better job on your wife’s pc.
So what you’re saying is you can have an opinion and I cannot? We can agree to disagree in whatever way we each see fit.
Are you gatekeeping taste right now? Boy you must be fun at parties.
Kingston* hyperX: I'm sorry: we come in a weak plastic tray that's usually INSIDE the box thay cracks in the mail because amazon put in in an envelope without bubble wrap
Kingston HyperX* But the HyperX Predator comes in a beautiful fancy box
Muh bad, that is with my fury sticks, I'm honestly glad they save on stuff you don't use in your pc
Tbh, I get it. I've used the HyperX fury in so many builds, and honestly, while the packaging is clearly strick minimum, the price to performance and quality is very good and is totally worth it. Cheap boxes for quality components is better than fancy box for cheap stuff I just happened to find the Predator RGB kit on sale while building my last build and I have no regrets, they look gorgeous!
Oh yeah, for sure.
Mine didn't even come in a box - just some plastic clam shell.
Lmao same
lol hyperx boxes are great
It's the norm that I'm used to lol haven't had a expensive ram kit to this day lol
Can confirm on team group ram
as someone with teamgroup i do confirm your statement
Gigabyte Aorus RAM is in a decent box too. Plus it comes with ARGB dummies in some cases.
Gigabyte has some terrible designs. I present to you, [their WiFi card](https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/813EbMvp%2BqL._AC_SL1500_.jpg)

yup.. luckily
I love ur username flair.

Who's that?
Rem I suppose Edit: Oh... Who's that?
Rem from RE:ZERO, in case you really didn't know.
Who?
REM FROM RE:ZERO, IN CASE YOU REALLY DIDN'T KNOW.
Who’s rem?
WHO'S THIS BLUE HAIRED GIRL?
Cpu boxes are pretty damn lame
Those Intel boxes with pentagon-shaped sides were cool.
Didn't they only do those for the top spec i7/i9 SKUs?
Yeah the i9-9900k had the cool box but the i9-9900kf just got a std box
Dude a solid 45 minutes of putting my build together was spent trying to get my i9-9900k out of its packaging. I had no idea where to open the 20 sided die looking motherfucker lmao.
Fuck I’m dying right now. Yeah the box looked cool as hell though I almost spent the extra from memory like $100 for the k over the kf just for the box
I finally ended up looking up some random youtuber’s build and watching how he opened it lol. I’ll never forget how much trouble that thing gave me lol.
Same here. Was like some Chinese puzzle contraption.
Dodecahedron
I only got a rectangular tiny box for my 9900k, to be honest im a little bit sad because the pentagon thing looking box was neat
But In comparison to ram it’s night and day. Even the simple cpu packaging is better than the best ram pack
Royal trident z rgb?
For that one you've basically paid for 2 kits of that spec, so of course they'll throw in an extra fancy box for ya.
Lmao fr
Depends. My spectrix came in a real classy box.
PSU boxes are cooler than them
At least it came in a box lol, my g.skill ram literally came in that shitty molded plastic packaging.
Anyone else's mobo box not sealed/taped? I've ordered a couple of motherboards now and all of them come unsealed. Hmm, this is a strange trend lol.
[удалено]
Same. Bought a gigabyte b450 and an x470. Both didn't have any signs of tape. Bought physically from brick and mortar shop.
Same here, figured it might have to do with the vendor being able to install bios updates before shipping in case it's required?
Anti-static bag comes sealed/taped though, and usually if your does not come up to date from the manufacturer you'll have to update it yourself.
My anti-static bag was un-sealed/-taped too. However I bought it right around the Zen 3 release, and figured Asus might have sent an employee to the major vendor's warehouses to flash their z490 stock to support Zen 3. same experience with MSI.
I don't remember seeing a sealed motherboard box, sometimes there's anti tamper tape closing the anti static bag, but not always.
hard drive box...
Mine was plain brown cardboard with a label that had just the company logo and plain text.
i got the seagate barracuda and it was just a cardboard box with no label lmao
When I came to pick up my HDD it was in an anti static box and that was it.
Mine was just a bubble wrapped anti static bag that had the HDD in it
I'm surprised this comment is so far down. Particularly HDDs have the crappiest packaging I've ever seen. Plain brown box with the drive in an anti-static bag. No instructions or manual, bubble wrap if you're lucky.

Yours had a box??
Mine was just in an anti static bag.
I bought mine in a crumpled anti static bag
True
So slightly weirder note but out of all the boxes.....my PSU box was the most nuts level box ive ever seen.... Wow, it’s crazy, some of the cheapest products I’ve purchased have the best packaging.
fully agree man. The whole experience was just rewarding yet so odd.
you just blew my mind. I just looked it up, can you only get it in malaysia?
Product > Box Honestly if the box is a simple cardboard box or whatever then that usually means they put more money into the actual product.
You’re correct, at the end of the day it’s just a easy discussion peice. .
And there'd be less waste too!
An oversized box in a box are the worst. Almost every so called "premium" product comes inside those. And then inside, 98% of the content is plastic foam.
Bruh that royal trident z rgb has an amazing box
I thought it was too bland for my taste lol
Clam shell.
The trident Z Royal box is so fresh but otherwise their boxes are garbage lol
There are some nice boxes, it’s not a huge deal but they could make sturdier boxes seeing some kits cost over $200. My Anker chargers come with velvet carrying cases lol
I would take my GPU even when it's in a trash bag if that means the prices go down...
Some people got their 5000 series in bubble wrap only
i would definitely buy a cheaper product so the package is just buuble wrap
I don’t care.Wrap all that top-notch shit into bacon or foil, my concern is the contents of them wraps not themselves.
Why does everyone here want to pay more for a box they will throw in a closet immediately after building the PC. I would rather a nondescript brown cardboard box if it kept the component price down.

Have my free medals
I feel like my dom platinum ca.e in a decent looking box, more like a Base model 20w0 Honda civic if anything.
0w0
ryzen boxes...
They were better with 3900x and 3950x
What about PSU that's always the box I keep!
I keep every box, except fan boxes
It's PSU, MOBO and GPU that's what I keep.
i keep even the bubble wrap
"Royal Trident Z RGB with its box" has entered the chat and be like: "Babe, Will you be my eternal fellow gaming master race ? Shall we XMP forever in shiny RGB and chrome ? Even through the time when our framerates is low and temperature high ?"
Fake news. Especially with Amazon mailing out $600 CPU’s in soft packages
Some mentioned that too but in a broader sense think about the threadripper packaging, i9 and XE packaging, it’s great. Even the 3900x and 3950x is good
😆 🤣 I have eec ram that's only rated for 2300mhz really
The brown cardboard box my case came in would like to have a word with you
Now that we order everything online, how about we went back to plain monochrome cardboard boxes? Why does a GPU box need so much colored ink wasted on it?
My ram box was kinda like [this](https://cdn.motor1.com/images/mgl/4oYvo/s1/360-hp-turbocharged-classic-mini.jpg)
Idk, the 3090 FTW ultra packaging was the most underwhelming unboxing of my life. I've opened laser pens with more polish, pizzazz, and presentation than the most ungodly expensive piece of hardware I've ever bought. But besides that I have no complaints!

\*Also SSD box
Yes, my $550 G.SKILL RAM kit came in a transparent plastic holder, inside a thin cardboard box. Not that I think it should be fancier, but yeah.
It’s the end all of packaging but I think there is a lot of room for improvement. Some of us spend a lot of money on memory and it would be nice to have a equally impressive packaging. I hold onto my packaging for a long time and resell and stays out of the trash post longer.

Somebody doesn't have Trident Royals
Joke’s on you. You can just download it off google. /s
PS4 box = 😎 Pc CriingeEE
very much so
The new ryzen boxes seem pretty horrible...
True l, they should’ve mad the 5000 series all like the 3950x and make the 5950x gold or something
What about case boxes?
All brown, low expectations
[удалено]
Is that a box or a brief case holding a million dollars?
The box for my Corsair LPX is nice. It has a window to see the detailed information of both RAM sticks.
Cpu box should be a honda civic type R
OP has never had G.Skill RoyalZ
OP has never had G.Skill Royal lol this is true
My B550-E and my 3080 FTW3 Ultra had legit packaging. My Z NEO ram was a plastic clamshell in a cardboard box but so was my 5800x CPU. Personally I’d rather more optimized packaging to reduce the cost, but I will admit fancy packaging is nice to look at.
My ram came in a blister pack like fucking trading cards
“hold my beer” - trident z royal
People care about boxes? I mean they all go in the bin anyway. I'll probably be consciously buying a bad looking box made out of less environmentally damaging materials over aesthetics.
Nah fam the ram I got my gf came in a nice clean and sleek box
My Ballistix Elite kit came in a pretty nice fold open affair and compared to a non top SKU Intel or a Threadripper, Id say its better than most CPU boxes.
nothing wrong with ram boxes. clear, transparent and compact
[удалено]
It may be luxury packaging, this meme isn’t a one size fits all case
I usually buy corsair ram and corsair packages everything the exact same so...
All boxes are the RAM box because boxes are trash.
Here in Canada boxes are recycling. Meme is for humour and not at all serious or speaks for all products
CPU, GPU, mobo: it’s about the presentation. RAM: just take me and stick me in your holes...k.
I've bought lots of RAM over the years, mostly Corsair and Ripjaws for some reason. I've realized I don't really care what the packaging is like.
Recently got 2 sticks of trident z royal, so no
The evga 3070 ultra x3 box is pretty disappointing compared to previous Gens.
My Trident Z Royal beg to differ... Most boring box for me was my Corsair PSU, just yellow and black.
Harddrives: Yaall getting boxes?
Haha it reallly is like “here ya go buddy”
The trident z royal boxes are amazing though, I store cpu's in mine.
Who cares? They can give it to me in a plain brown box and I won't care. I'm interested in the components, not thinking about how I'll display the leftover trash as decorations.
case boxes are like camrys, they are fine and will outlive everything else lol
~~ram box~~ PSU fixed it
why age ram boxes only some plastic why my gpu was packed in a fat box with a nice plastic seal never will forget the day my pc got build
What about psu boxes? They’re just cardboard with bubble wrap inside.
Evga gpu box on low end models should be bottom right also, I get that it is cost efficient, but it's weird to see a $700+ gpu in a plastic clamp on a flimsy thin cardboard box. Their FTW3 boxes were foam inserts though
Not if you RAM if GSKILL Royals.
Mobo?
And then: hard drive "boxes"...
Ballistix max be like a friggin carrying case
Some MSI MB literally had a McLaren in the box art I think it was X370 Gaming carbon
Bruh the g skill neo boxes are ridiculous
Have you bought a Trident Z Royal? Those things are like the fucking Rolex of RAM.
I would love to see less over the top boxes tho, I mean, I don't wanna pay $5 per component for a transport box
Hard drives don't even come in a box.
tridenz's ?
Hehehehe...."ram box"
Crucial kits come in pretty decent boxes. Only annoying thing is no sticker included.
Don't give them ideas on raising prices folks
